I thought this place was awesome. They have alot more to do for the little kids so it was perfect for us. We have a 2 year old and 5 month old. There was a kiddy area where the adults could sit and then another play area for the toddlers. Plus they give you as much free water as you want! I know that might not sound like a big deal but I've been to places where they make you buy bottled water. I was able to take my own water bottles and they filled them up with water and ice. So that was cool
Fun place...slides aren't very long..A little dated
The way you allow women and children to be spoken to by an angry man in the baby area totally means wet and wild will be getting all my business this summer
Love this place, so much fun everytime we come. Great for ALL ages.
I went there for the first time for wet electric. The slides are awesome. The event made it even better though. I can't wait to go again next year
Need to upgrade place. Too much boogie board time and surf board time allowed.
A fun place to take kids but in need of a little upkeep.
I love Big Surf, I have since highschool. Now I enjoy it solo. Or with my bff, and kids. But I wish they would do some much needed updates around the park (including beach scene in background) areas in the different pools that are falling apart. Broken chaise lounges. Even with all of this, the crowds still flock here. Thank you for adding coffee bar/lounge. Yum yum yum
It was really fun, I'd give it 5 stars, I was just hoping the employees would be more friendly, otherwise, awesome time :)
It's always been a great time when we bring the kids. The lifeguards are very attentive and helpful. When we went, the slides had short lines and there were always tubes available for the slides that needed it.
My kids and I go every year. They offer a season pass which is very affordable and allows you to go as often as you want. I think most people's favorite thing is the wave pool which sends out a surfable rideable wave every few minutes.
It was fun. The wave pool was filthy though. I get there's alot of bodies in and out of there but i couldn't see my toes in the merkiness. Got our tickets on Groupon and it was only 19 bucks to get in. Just about every employee was on their phone when you walk up to the front.. the concession counter girl was friendly and very helpful.
We got discount tickets through Groupon and arrived when the park opened. Luckily we found a covered spot, very limited. My first impression was older park, but maintained. We spent most of our time in the wave pool and tried 1 slide. There could be better signs. Our child went to the kid area and was turned away from the open colored slides because he as too tall. The park offers a little kid area restricting height, not the area he tried to use. We were disappointed. Also, we went to ride a double tube slide and when we got to the top of the ride found out the slide we wanted was single tube only. The wave pool sends 1 wave every 3.5 minutes and the boogie boards get the wave pool for 30 minutes a couple times during the day. It got very busy as the day went on. We had a good time, but will try a different place next time.
this is a cool place to take your family if you just trying to cool off but they do not have too many water slides
Just took the kids and it was a great time. Show up early cuz by 2-3 it's pretty packed. Can't go wrong with the original wave pool! It's also pretty cool to take my boys to a water park I went to as a kid. Without the Groupon though the price would have definitely been too much.
Fun time at a good price. Food is way over priced and there's no Coke products only RC which sucks.
I went to Big Surf as a kid and have lots of great memories with friends. I take my sons there now every year and they have a great time. Park is in need of renovation, its showing its age.
It was awesome, but you cant have people holding up the height sign and there not taller than it
great place for some kid, as well as adult fun but needs some upgrading. not many options for slides, and the waves on the wave pool dont seem to be as strong as they were last year. lifeguards are kinda rude as well yelling at children being rude like they hate their job. needs some serious changes made
Big surf is a joke. They can't even follow their own rules about bringing in water. They have in their website that you can bring in factory sealed water bottles and when you get there they make you dump out the water. No where does it state we can bring empty bottles to fill there. Now should I have called one a dumb*** no but I was also refused to speak to management just the cops. I will never return here nor will I ever recommended anyone to come here.
Big Surf is a pretty cool place to grt your water activity. The atmosphere is very mellow and staff members are effective. There is food (no outside food or drinks) and beverage service and you can beers at the bar. Water is clean and finding a place under the palapa is pretty easy although they could benefit from a few more. As an adult i found a lot of fun on the slides and wave pool. My 3 YO daughter also had plenty to do with multiple kid pools and even slides for toddlers. We ended up buying season passes as it is a nice substitute for a home pool and way cheaper. I think 1 pass per person is $50 or so. This place is cool for all ages.
Great Day with the kids just sucks you can't bring in your own drinks or food...
Great for family. Something for all ages. Price not bad in comparison to other water parks. Could use a few more slides. Little bit more exciting would be nice.
Fun little water park that turned 50 in 2019. The Wave pool was very large and fun. They could do some maintenance on the water slides. If they renovated this place could be really cool with its history. No lazy river on site. Didn't try the food. You can go in and out so we ate out of our cooler in the parking lot.
A pretty rundown facility and they charge as it is new! For me, no more!
Wasn't pleased. Park was smaller then I expected.
Visiting park with family from out of state.
Never been to a water park that had rude life guards and so many restrictions.
Wave pool is nothing like the many water parks I have been to.
Also 7 dollars to rent a blow up to play in the water is insane.
Next time I visit Arizona I will be trying out a different water park.
Great place to get some sun. The slides are fun enough, but don't offer much variety. The wave pool is the best part.
Awesome fun for the family, need to update some of the areas, and add more shade areas. But over all good experience.
Had a great day with the kids. Very family friendly place. Plenty of shade and areas to relax.
So much fun for big kids and the smaller one too. Family fun!
Awesome staff, fun place to hang out & watch the sun set.
Clean, fun place to go. I went during the July 4th holiday and it was not super packed. Not a lot of places for shade though so go early to get an umbrella. I didn't try the food. Slides were fun and the lines were short even for a holiday.
I payed for a raft and didn t get warned there was only 30 min left
I give it a 3, but I only have two or three choices within 60 miles. I just think it can be cleaner, fixed up a bit, but it's still very fun
The wave pool is really awesome. I only went on one slide but it was really hot and stuffy in it so I just stayed in the pool.
Still the best water park around. It's more open, where you don't feel crowded. Had a great time.
great place to take the kids. not many rides to go on. wave pool is the best attraction there. and food is too pricey for the portion and quality.
I wish the hours were longer. It s a great place for family and fun. The food is a little expensive but pretty good.
Absolutely the best fun but the staff are awful you can tell they either don't want a job or they don't like to see people having fun and their not and gosh forbid you need help from a life guard or first aid but have fun it is a blast
love the place they alow boogie boards and surf boards
My family and I had our first (probably our last time there) visit to Big Surf Waterpark. The waterpark has many grassy areas to hang out and free water cups. Maintenance and sanitary conditions need improvement. I got a bad rash on both of my elbows (not sure why?). I ve been taking medication to relief the symptoms. We were very disappointed that they closed the wave pool for surfers only at 5pm, and there was no sign saying that the wave pool was closed for the public. Knowing that the park closes at 6pm, we decided to go to the water slides with our inner tubes and hang out a little bit longer. It was 5:15pm and we noticed a few life guards picking up lawn chairs, and other inflatable devices and bringing back to storage them. We thought that it was weird, since there were a lot of people still hanging out and enjoying their time with their families. We picked up a few inner tubes to use on the water slides a few more times, but to our disappointment, we weren t even able to get down the slides. We were already up on the top of the water slides area with our inner tubes, when the life guard heard a whistle and said to the kids who were in front of the family who were waiting just like us, to exit the area and return the inner tubes downstairs. We were shocked that they literally closed the slide without any notice! There were about 12-15 people waiting to go down the water slides. It was only 5:30pm. We walked down the stairs very disappointed! The life guards were cleaning everything up! They decided that it was time to go, and they asked everyone to stop using the water slides. It was terrible! They should have allowed at the least the people that were already waiting on line to use the water slides, then, close the area. We were not very impressed with their customer service. We would go to Golfland Sunsplash Waterpark next time instead!
Thank you big surf for one of the worst family experiences we have ever had. Half the rides are closed down and I've spent more time waiting in 20-30 person lines just to get access to my locker than I have with my family. Switching to electronic lockers with such few kiosks to get access has created such a long wait for something that worked way better analog (key).
I remember going here in 8th grade and IT WAS SO FUN, too bad I got sick for like two days lol.
Big surf is a great place for kids when it is the summer time. Big surf is the place to be.
Not too busy early morning until about noon or 1300. Great wave pool, decent slides.
That's on water park last stuff to do for all different ages good place to be the summer heat
Friendly staff and good overall atmosphere. Park has been well maintained.
Get rid of the rafts in the wave pool they are dangerous for people without them
We had a pretty good time but the locker prices have gone up to such a crazy price. I remember them being only $3 about 8 years ago. I know all things go up in price but four to five times the original price in 8 years is a little much. The rafts haven't even hardly gone up in price. So besides the price of the lockers we had a pretty good time.
I am over the moon excited that we finally have OUR Big Surf back. The surf sessions are a blast to watch and the kids enjoy visiting the park almost as much as we locals loved it back in the 80's. Can we get rid of the slides and put in a dance floor again??? I used to love to dance on Sunday nights after getting sun burned all day!
I remember when it first opened. There was sand instead of grass and you had to run to the wave pool as fast as you could to keep from burning your feet. We loved it!
Family fun! Wave pool, water slides, kiddi area. Good food. Life guards on staff.
Poorly maintained and has not been updated in decades. Very few places to sit and relax. They have two lines, one to wait for a tube to go on the slide and the other line to ride the slide. If you go here bring your own chairs, wagon, towels, and port-a-potty.
This water park is definitely in need of a facelift and I personally believe for that reason especially is over charging for regular admission. The food was also incredibly expensive. For a family of 3 to eat it cost $50+ With that said, my family had a good time. The park wasn't packed crowed, so there was lawn chairs available, room to swim/play in the water and reasonably short lines for the slides.
Nice little water park. Wave pool is giant and fun. Food is ok.
This place has a great wave pool and some fun slides. Prices are good, but the equipment needs some updates. Also the water was very cold
The place was great and the people were usually nice
We had a great time there at the Surfing with Nixon event for autistic kids. My 10 year old autistic son really had the biggest smile on his face. Loved it!! Want to go back soon.
Being the oldest water park in Arizona it is showing its age, but the wave pool and the water slides are still fun for the family after all these years.
had great time here. prices were reasonable for food and drinks also.
