They made us wait for 5 hours to check in then when we finally got our room it had two "queen" beds. We booked a king bed. My boyfriend is 6'6" he doesn't fit in a queen bed. Customer service wasn't all that good either. They want us to buy into a time share there guess what nots going to happen. I won't come back to stay here again.

The Hotel: Decent hotel to say that but it's right next to highway and it's also in a bass pro shop. They charge you 250+ dollars a night and yet I still hear the loud noises in the store and people vacuuming all night. It's quite annoying even if you have the balcony door shut. So in a nutshell, nice rooms, nice hotel, not a good price.
The Top Restaurant: Was charged $50 for a 16 ounce ribeye that only had 6 ounces of edible meat, the rest was fat. Inedible, not worth the cost.
Rooms were very nice and clean. Great decor. I can't give 5 stars for a few reasons. First, they don't have a pool. Second, they charge $12 to self park in the Bass Pro parking lot. Third, the service we had was way below what a 5 star hotel should be. Christopher was great, but everyone else was rude at best. Lastly, after the store closes there is nothing to do; no restaurant, no bar, no pool, nothing.
Wonderful place for shopping or just visiting. They have a fish pond with ducks and a variety of fishes. They also have gators. Nice restaurant inside also. You can also stay at the hotel on the second floor. Plus you can feed the animal which kids are always excited about.
The Big Cypress Lodge is among the nicest placest I've ever stayed. Service is top class every is very polite and are ready to help. The room was amazing and spacious. The food in both restaurants was great. Amazing atmosphere great place for family or a couple get away. I will be back to Big Cypress Lodge.
When reading the reviews I found that the bad reviews were about Uncle Bucks, not the hotel. The hotel was fabulous. I stayed in a loft cabin. BUT, having a super room is not all the hotel offered. Everyone, I do mean everyone, had a smile and warm welcome. Jeffrey, Cory, Jessica and everyone!!! I ate at the Lookout and Uncle Bucks. Both were great. Going up to the Lookout in the elevator a Bass Pro employee was just a joy! I can not say anything bad about this place. Except, I need to know where they get their pillows!!!
Love it . Very friendly service. We enjoy bowling and eating at uncle bluk fish bowl. Our room was so nice they left of a gift basket of snacks. We sit out on the balcony looking out to the store and play a family game.
Was a very loud party and a open bar in the hallway upstairs we called several times to get it shut down so we could go to sleep and black mold came out of the bathtub jets when they were turned on. Yes front desk was notified. Ty other than this things were fine
The lodge and the room was absolutely beautiful. The concept of the experience is great. But someone has really dropped the ball with this place. You pay a considerable amount of money for a whole experience and it s just not there. Limited staff who didn t do more than take your money and hand you a key card. Staff inside the store were all incredibly rude and don t even get me started on Uncle Bucks. That restaurant is a joke. I think corporate needs to read these reviews and listen because they are missing out on a wonderful experience for folks that COULD be worth every penny Big Cypress is already charging. Some major staff training and good lord, get rid of that restaurant, would make a world of difference.
This room is wonderful. The Jacuzzi tub is so relaxing and the beds are super soft. I really liked all the wood and animals on the walls. They have a safe fridge and complementary robes but no microwave. They offer joining rooms as well which i like and everyone was super nice and helpful I can't wait to come back!
We were driving through on a Sunday. It literally shuts down at 7 on Sundays so watch out for that. The rooms were very nice. The service was very hit or miss. They were either extremely nice or extremely not. You definitely have to spearate the hotel from the bass pro. Honestly the hotel was much, much better than the store .
This should just remain as a retail store. Customer service horrible. Went up to see the view and decided to eat lunch and the hostess and waiter were horrible at they're jobs. Never coming back.
Must see. Its a hollow pyramid with great aquariums and hotel rooms overlooking the beautifully landscaped inside like your in the woods. Biggest fish ever.
Definitely will return! We are from visiting from south Louisiana and the staff here that we encountered were very friendly. We have told so many people about this place and would recommend staying at the lodge in an interior room. The balcony with rockers overlooking the store was an amazing experience! Food options were limited due to Covid situation, but we did enjoy the pizza at Uncle Bucks.
Amazing rooms, front desk staff was extremely pleasant. There are no benefits to having a room, all the restaurants, activities, are first come first serve even though you pay premium dollar for the rooms. Again hotel was awesome, outside activities we're sub par.
The decor and rooms are great! It really gives you a cabin in the woods feel. I felt that the beds were a bit too soft, but that's my personal preference.
The room was absolutely beautiful! The shower and the tub were awesome but outside of that it was horrible!!!!! The service was terrible in every fashion from check-in to check out. Our parents paid for a $500+ suite for our honeymoon and I feel so terrible that all that money was wasted when we've had better experiences at a Best Western.
Uncle bucks was plain bad. The food wasn't that great and it was cold! We waited over an hour to get a burger, a couple beers, and some catfish for my wife. I do not recommend it at all!
To top it off, they woke us up early in the morning blaring Taylor swift and that was just the end of it for us! No jokes aside this place was a terrible honeymoon experience and we WILL NEVER stay at bass pro again
Only went to the lobby and the main area of the pyramid the lodge has beautiful decks built with a view of the indoor swamp and the restraunt is gorgeous with a aquarium in the middle of it.. For entertainment there is a shooting gallery, a bowling alley and a archery range.
This place is GREAT! From start to finish, the people in the hotel and the Bass Pro Shop were friendly and helpful. The room was absolutely beautiful. It was like staying in a rustic hunting lodge - the detail is amazing. There's a workout area, business center, large common area with a fireplace, free shuttle service in the downtown area, and a host of other amenities too numerous to mention. They even left us goodnight cookies! It is simply to best hotel experience we've ever had. Is it pricey? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes!
The big cypress lodge was of the best hotels we've ever stayed in. I was a little taken back by the price when we were booking our trip, but it was worth it. The rooms were excellent and the staff was very nice. We stayed in one of the exterior room. The view wasn't too spectacular from our window, but the room made up for it! The room was just as beautiful as the rest of the lodge. We will definitely be booking one of the interior rooms next time so that we can have a pretty view of the inside of the pyramid. We had an awesome time and can't wait to come back!
Even though we waited an hour and a half and never received the food order we placed in Uncle Bucks Fish Bowl Grill ( the bar tender says he didn't know what happened, the kitchen just never made the food), I still give this place 5 stars and recommend it as a must visit in Memphis.
We so enjoyed our stay here! Nicest people worked there and our room was awesome!! Also enjoyed shopping and walking around the Bass Pro shop! They had neat exhibits. We ate at Uncle Bucks one night and then headed to Bealle Street!
I have stayed at my fair share of hotels, and the Big Cypress Lodge is definitely one for the books. From the friendly and welcoming staff to the beautiful rooms complete with fresh baked cookies delivered daily, there is not one detail missed when it comes to them making customer service their number one priority. I will DEFINITELY be returning to this hotel for future family trips!
The Big Cypress Lodge pays a lot of attention to detail. The staff is friendly and the accomodations are heads above your average hotel. Between the Bass Pro Shop, The Lookout restaurant, The Fishbowl restaurant and bowling, the spa services, and the evening bar upstairs, there's enough to keep you busy for an entire weekend without leaving.
My wedding night suprise turned disaster all thanks to the front desk lady whom checked us in. We arrived around 10ish and tried to check in and she was rude and kind of judged us and if we had not had family near by we would not been able to check in with her. She was so busy trying not to let us in she didnt congratulate us or offer the wine that we got when checking out this was our 2nd visit and this will be the last. It's a No for me with customer service. The rooms are nice clean and comfortable but the price we paid 400 plus it should have excellent customer service.
We are originally from Memphis and went back for an Aniversary Weekend. We stayed at Big Cypress Lodge at Bass Pro in the Pyramid. The accommodations were five star. The Lodge Decor was beautiful in every inch of the suite we stayed in. We enjoyed everything about our stay. Also because it was our Aniversary we had a sweet gift in our room! Loved it!!
After many times of staying at Big Cypress Lodge without disappointment, our time finally hit. My husband and I always use the lodge for our couple getaways and are willing to pay the money because of the amenities, BUT we will find another place in Memphis for our next trip. Upon arrival, we were quickly given a room. We get to our room and quickly notice that it is a handicap accessible room. I call the front desk, and the attendant informed me that the only difference is the shower and the bed is lower. AKA- get over it. It d be okay if we had never stayed in a regular room and knew the amazing quality of the showers. The shower is one of the MAIN REASONS we love the place. And had they informed us of the room PRIOR to us walking in, it would ve been totally different. After the phone call, I sucked it up and decided to take a bath in lieu of a shower. I run the water, get in, and turn on the jets. Slimy, black gunk (for lack of better terminology) began to shoot out of the jets. It gets better. I get out of the tub totally grossed out and go to the sink to brush my teeth, and low and behold, Coke splatters are in the sink. I call to my husband and ask if he had poured something out. He, of course, says no. You can only imagine my disgust. I didn t bother to call the front desk because I felt like they would ve just said to get a pack of Lysol wipes and clean it myself after the lack of willingness to accommodate my concern about the room type. It leaves me questioning... if the sink wasn t even disinfected, were we sleeping on clean sheets? Was the shower curtain that constantly stuck to me during my shower clean? And exactly what was the funk that came out of the jets during my bath? For $350 a night, we expect much more and have experienced it before which is what made this so disappointing.
Big Cypress Lodge is very unique and beautiful. The staff and valet parking staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend wearing socks or shoes at all times when in the bathroom. The floor is very sticky, not sure if house keeping is using mop and glo or the floor is just dirty. Also, the number of towels are very limited and they are rough and scratchy. I would expect high quality towels, especially for the price I paid. In the morning, I asked my husband to get me some complimentary coffee. I expected this service would be at least as good as Hampton Inn, but expected better. Very disappointed in quality of coffee and lack of flavored creamers. Boy, Hampton Inn blows them out of the water on this service. I guess I might be expecting to much for 350 dollars a night.
Conveniently located to the Memphis Cook Convention. Within walking distance. I do not fill the the rooms sufficient to the nightly rates. They are nicely decorated though, even if you are not much for the sporting type. We have a room on the inside and the porch is nice and large for sitting and looking around the shop. You can sit in a large rocking chair and watch the fish below.
Definitely one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed at, and I stay in a lot of hotels each year. Finally a place with a nice soft bed. Also they give you four thick pillows per bed. The bathroom was amazing with a huge spa tub, extra large shower for two( if your into that sorta thing). The decor is completely amazing and the view from the balcony is beautiful. The hotel is pricey but for people who love the outdoors, its a lifetime experience. I will definitely stay again.
This is the third time I have stayed here since August due to a sick family member. The location is super. There are plenty of restaurants around the area, but the hot breakfast is totally worth the stay. The food area is clean and tidy and always well stocked throughout the morning. The room is always very clean.
One of the most unique hotels I've ever stayed in for work. The groups I bring absolutely love the hotel. If you get an indoor hotel with views over the Bass Pro Shoppe, you will LOVE it for 1-2 nights - after that you need to make sure you spend lots of time outside in the sunlight. :) Again, it's like Disneyland so the price is DEFINITELY worth it!
Very impressive Bass pro shop. They are located inside a pyramid and have a huge store area. The shop is co located with a hotel/resort and conference center. It is almost like going to an aquarium with all the fish tanks and the pond in the store. There is a pretty decent restaurant inside as well.
