There is always a wait at this place, so thats to be expected. This time, the service was just "off"...really slow and not very friendly at all. unfortunately, three of the five on our party ended up not feeling well soon after eating this time..which was a bummer...but something just didn't sit right. I love the atmosphere, and normally the staff is very friendly and helpful (we have newcomers in our group) but this time it was very cold service, unfortunately. I am not sure what caused so many to get stomach symptoms either, but it doesn't make us want to make the long drive to go back.

Yummy pizza with an amazing crust and honey, and friendly service. Will be back next time we stop in Idaho Springs. Only constructive feedback would be a more robust craft beer selection is desired, but still there was craft beer available so still good. In all well worth the visit!

We're from Chicago, hard to beat pizza from Chicago! The Mountain Pie was very close. Very, very good pizza. The crust with the honey was awesome! The service was excellent too. Can't remember our servers name, but he was awesome. If you're ever in Idaho Springs, eating a Beau Jo's is a must.

The greatest pizza EVER! I'm not from Colorado. My husband's family is. We stopped by here on our vacation. I seriously doubted that pizza was a vacation food. Boy was I wrong. I can't wait to get back.

Good unique pizza experience - beers are a bit mediocre. Staff are also sub-prime - don't behave like they really want to be there.

Edit: re the service, it was pretty much the same when I went there last year - it may be a staffing problem common to the area as other nearby businesses seem to operate in a similar fashion.

Amazing crust. Will visit every time I'm in Denver. Will definitely be going back and recommending to any friends visiting Denver. I crave the crust but there's no where around San Francisco like it. Hoping to go visit Denver and go eat at Beau Jo's again soon!

What a great pizza place in downtown Idaho Springs. I have been here a dozen or so times and it is always a must stop if traveling up/down the hill on I70.

Order anything in the mountain man crust and don t forget to put honey on it!

The only downside is that it is so good that it is always busy. Be prepared to wait a bit to get seated. It can also be challenging to find parking.

If you have never eaten at this location then stop what you are doing and go by. The tradition of stopping here started when we lived in Gypsum, and continues as we are now in Central Kansas. :p Order a Mountain Pie and save the crust to eat with the local mountain honey. Who needs dessert?

If you can wrap Colorado up in a restaurant, it would be Beau Jos. This is one of those places that you bring your out-of-town guests for the ambience and unique take on pizza. It was delicious. They screwed up my order but quickly remedied it and the service was great. 100 will be back. It is home to me.

Really mixed emotions towards this place. I gotta prairie pizza which honestly I think frozen pizza is better than, it was still cold in parts and the vegetables were few and rare on it. Some buddies got the mountain pizza which looked delicious and was very filling almost too filling. The honey with the crust was delicious and a great idea. The ambiance of the place was really nice. Would recommend to anyone passing through the area that wants to stop but wouldnt recommend driving out there for the pizza specifically.

Michelle was the most perfect and on it server. She was so nice and knew when we needed something before we even asked for it. I couldn't have asked for a better birthday dinner. Thank you again!

I have a genuine pizza eating addiction problem and have tried every kind. I can honestly say the thin crust pizza at this location is the best pie I ve ever had in my life. It was divine. Service was good, price was a little steep but the product did not disappoint. This place is one of the few that lives up to the hype.

Amazing pizza pies. Thick crusted, Colorado style pizza with plenty of toppings to choose from. Don't fill up on just the pizza - make sure you save room to dip the crusts in honey. Other options include wings and a salad bar in a giant older building with room for large groups.

They have some of the best pizza I have every had. The salad bar is fresh and clean. Great beer selection, they have a brewery on each side of the restaurant. One thing that they have that is deffernt from all other pizza places is they have honey at the table to put on your crust.... very tasty

We ordered the mountain pies pesto chicken pizza on honey wheat dough. This was like eating chicken pesto pasta loaded with cheese. Great taste, great texture, the honey made it magical. We also had the honey cheese bread, the texture was a little dry but the taste was amazing.

Yummy

First time experiencing Beau Jo s today. Waited for about 30 minutes for a party of 7 on a Saturday...not bad at all. Really cool atmosphere! Our waitress was super friendly and had great suggestions. We got a medium pizza with pepperoni and prime rib. OMG delicious!!!! I m wishing I had gotten another to go. Now that I m down out of the mountains back home, I wish I had another slice or two!!

We had the sausage combo pizza and a caprese for an appetizer. Both were very delicious! I think the honey on the table is for your crust. At least that is what I used it for. It was also delicious. Wait staff was very nice and fast.

While I've been coming here for thirty years it is due to inertia. As in the devil you know.
I'm sure there are very good things on the menu but I can't name one. Don't get me wrong here, I'm thinking good, as in it stands out. The food is not bad, but it doesn't really stand out. The mountain pie is a selling point. Hugh crust, little pie. If you like the crust, just buy a loaf of Italian bread and toast it.

Response to Owners response: We did not have a bad experience at all. It was fun for the family, just that none of our orders were memorable and stood out.

This place is legit!! Impeccable service (Scott is a rock star) and the pizza was incredible. Not your average pizza spot..don't expect $12 pies with 2 toppings and boring taste. The pie is spilling over with the toppings you choose and amazing flavor. New best spot when I'm in town!

I expected more from the original location our pizza was burnt and the service was ok at best she never would return with refills. I've had better pizza and service from the locations in Denver area
