Being from New Jersey I have an east coast palate for pizza..this pizza is different. Their thick edged pizza looked good but I found it more like thick white bread and left most of it. I was not the only customer who left most of the crust. Wife's lettuce cups were good and service fine. Lots of pizza options. Give it a try..very popular.

I've been eating at Beau Jo's in Idaho Springs since I was a kid. It's definitely a mountain landmark & a great place to stop by on the way home from the slopes. I haven't been here for a few years so on a daytrip to Idaho Springs I thought I'd stop by for one of their famous mountain pies. The restaurant was exactly as I remembered it, sprawling across half a block of downtown, packed with people. The atmosphere is fantastic, you feel like you've been transported back to the mining boom. Antiques & old mining equipment are everywhere. The service is great, although it can take some time to get your food because there are so busy. I had one of their signature mountain pies with a ginormous crust. I eat the slice first then save & the crust for dessert slathered with honey. It's crispy crust covers a soft, doughy inside. It really doesn't matter what you choose for toppings, everything is delicious. I always make sure to order extra pizza so I can take the leftovers home & eat them later!!!

Great atmosphere and good views. The miner street has been closed to provide for outdoor seating so great social distance dining. The colorado style pizza was a novelty for me and it was certainly a must have. Ordered the mountain medium and it was lunch and half. Must visit place when you're at Idaho Springs.

I have been here several times over the years and have never had a bad experience. The food and service have always been pretty good and I really have never had an issue. Today we got salad bars, (always good quality, fresh and has about 30 items to choose from including prepared salads, cottage cheese, several crunchy toppers and many dressings), a calzone and the spicy beef sandwich. The calzone was huge (probably enough to feed 2 to 3 people). Unfortunately it was too thick at the edge so that was undercooked and doughy at the crimp, but they comped the whole thing (pleasantly suprised and would never expect or ask for that for a minor issue). The spicy beef sandwich was very tasty but I will warn you, it is damn hot! I enjoy and am a frequent spicy food connoisseur but this was no joke...my eyes watered and my lips burned for about 5 minutes. Overall we had a pleasant lunch and would go back. Oh, and do try the cucumber cooler drink special if you're into that kind of thing. It is refreshing, not too sweet and I thought it was delicious (of course the bf hated it but I would die of shock if he didn't)

Amazing pizza all around. Everything is fresh and made with Rocky Mountain love! The Idaho Springs location is the only option to get the true experience. I love the honey with the crust. It is always busy so be prepared to wait but I promise it's worth the wait. It is also expensive but again the quality is well deserved of the cost. Highly recommend.

Very disappointing! The hostess said it would be an hour wait. Not sure why, the front patio was empty, the side with the salad bar was mostly empty and upstairs was empty. Not sure why they were only seating on the back patio. We didn't wait.

A fantastic find for a nice lunch with the family in Idaho Springs! Their best-know-for pizza, the Mountain Pie, was wonderfully good! Turned out to be my wife's most favorite pizza ever! Very, very fresh ingredients! Oh, and the chicken nachos, it was simply amazing! Super fresh and tasty ... and it was HUGE!!

We sat outside on their back patio, our waiter, Scott, was awesome...super friendly, talkative, and funny. Helped us out with the menu and made us feel really comfortable as his guests.

CHICKEN WINGS WERE STILL FROZEN!!! Extremely disappointed in our families experience last night! The 4 of us were sat at a high top in the bar area at about 6:30pm on sunday 12/16/18. We are all natives, and my sister was visiting from Texas, we only see her a few times a year now. We had a great time in Breckenridge, and decided to stop at our usual FAVORITE pizza place .My sister wanted Mexican food, but we talked her into pizza, because we all know Beau Jos is the best, Well not the one in Idaho Springs, not anymore. I live across from the Arvada location and am there often, have even had past events hosted there. The first mistake here- we ordered boneless buffalo wings, the waitress brought out Bone in wings. No worries, its all good- She caught her mistake and made the correction. We were fine, 2nd mistake, we ordered the Hipster pizza WITHOUT pineapple, the waitress brought our pizza out WITH pineapple, okie dokie, no worries again, we will live. Finally, our wings come out with the correct Hipster pizza, 25 minutes after we ordered. My sister takes her fork, picks up a boneless wing and its FROZEN she spits out immediately. Furious! I kept my cool, but I was very upset as well. The waitress didn't seem to care, went on to explain she "swears" it went through the oven with other pizzas-she stated she would let a manager know..we waited, there was never any management that ever came to our table to ensure we were ok, and apologize. We are ready to go, we get our bill, the wings are comped, along with other pizza- thank you! We As we are walking out i see a manager female, dark brown shoulder length hair, wearing a light blue and silver sequence sweater, hugging and holding a blonde tall male bartender just outside of the kitchen area, and close to host stand. Are they a couple? Either way- very unprofessional. So we couldn't have a manager come and speak to us because management is too busy holding eachother. Needless to say, we will only go to the Arvada establishment as they are professional, courteous, get our order correct the first time, and I never see any form of public affection displayed by employees. What kind of place are you running? Thanks for proving to my sister, we shouldve gotten mexican food-Happy New Year!

Decent food for the average person. Not great. However their website says they can make Vegan pizzas... And they can't. All they have are vegetarian options. The difference isn't that hard to understand. I hope they will eventually educate themselves.

We were staying up here for my sister's bachelorette party this last weekend and decided to come here for dinner. I was very impressed with this place and I don't really like pizza. (There are no good pizza joints in my town save for Old Chicago...) The wait was extremely long, but I was informed by my friends that long waits are normal for up here and the Denver area. I'm from Pueblo and usually only wait a few minutes to be seated. But, no complaints here. The waitress was a sweetheart and made us a fresh hot pot of coffee with refills when the restaurant got a bit cold. The wait for our orders took quite a while so I thought this better be some of the best pizza I'd ever have! I was not disappointed! It tasted like cartoon pizza! (As in, cartoon pizza always looks like it tastes amazing). The honey on the crust was so good! Would like to go back someday.

There was a 45 minute wait . But that isn't why I'm giving them 1 star. I'm giving them 1 star because of how they handle it. The host and hostess said come back in 15 minutes. I did. At which point they let me know that there was no table available, and that " it is busy what do you expect" and to come back in 15 minutes. I later found out that they were doing this because their buzzers were broken. Be truthful to customers so they can decide if they want to eat at your restaurant. I won't be back.

Recently, my wife and I took a weekend trip to drive to Breckenridge under the guise of getting a few days away. Really we wanted to go to Crepes a la Cart in Breckenridge and get this pizza on the way. Their wheat mountain crust with honey on it is incredible (and so is the rest of the pizza). I would recommend this place to anyone living in or visiting Colorado.
10/10 would dip their crust again.

About Beau Jo's

Beau Jo's: The Home of Colorado Mountain Pie

If you're a pizza lover, then you must have heard about Beau Jo's. This restaurant chain is famous for its Colorado-style pizza, which is unlike any other pizza you've ever tasted. With six locations across Colorado and the option to order online, Beau Jo's has become a go-to destination for foodies who want to try something new.

What sets Beau Jo's apart from other pizzerias is their signature dish - the Colorado Mountain Pie. This pie is made with a unique crust that's thick and chewy on the edges but thin and crispy in the middle. It's topped with generous amounts of cheese, sauce, and your choice of toppings.

But that's not all that Beau Jo's has to offer. Their menu also includes salads, sandwiches, calzones, pasta dishes, and more. They use only fresh ingredients in their dishes and offer gluten-free options for those with dietary restrictions.

The first Beau Jo's restaurant was opened in Idaho Springs in 1973 by Chip Baird. He wanted to create a place where people could enjoy delicious food while surrounded by the beauty of the Rocky Mountains. Today, there are six locations across Colorado - Idaho Springs (the original location), Arvada, Boulder, Denver (two locations), and Fort Collins.

Each location has its own unique atmosphere but shares the same commitment to quality food and excellent service. Whether you're looking for a family-friendly spot or a place to hang out with friends over drinks and appetizers, Beau Jo's has got you covered.

One thing that sets Beau Jo’s apart from other restaurants is their dedication to sustainability practices such as using compostable packaging materials instead of plastic ones which helps reduce waste pollution on our planet earth.

If you can't make it into one of their restaurants or live outside of Colorado altogether don't worry! You can still enjoy their delicious pies by ordering online through their website or third-party delivery services like Grubhub or Uber Eats!
