A must after any mountain trip! If you haven't tried the mountain pie, you haven't really done Colorado! Order by the pound- waiters can help you decide how much you need. Save your crust to dip in honey for dessert. Amazing historic building just keeps going- great place for families and large groups. Excellent gluten free options too!

What looks like a tourist trap restaurant is actually a 150 year old museum quality building housing some of the best pizza in the country. Beau Jo's is a local pizza chain that started in this location making their now famous Colorado style pizza. Soft puffy crust, house made sauces, a plethora of gourmet quality toppings (go for the prime rib), real honey to spread out dip your leftover crust...if you have any. A fresh salad bar hides out in antique claw foot bathtubs full of ice, and the extensive maze of a building is full of antiques and artifacts from its long history. They invite you to explore even the closed off rooms; try counting the bullet holes in the wood, brick, and mortar walls. Splurge for dessert if you can, the skillet made cheesecake cookie pie is amazing.

Fun place!

Fun place!
Lots of seating!
Had both pizzas of the different crusts. Deep is great tasting but leaving a lot of crust at the end. Thinner leaves more ingredients on it.
Go for it!

I'm a pretty big fan of Beau Jo's "Colorado style" pizza! I love that they offer honey to dip the crust! Their salad bar is clean and well stocked. I've never been when they're not busy. It's always a warm, welcoming, bustling environment, friendly service, and tons of space. This place is a lot bigger than Evergreen's. Expect a wait in all seasons, pretty much a fan favorite. Summer to ski season, always ready to serve hot pizza and so much more! Do us all a favor and skip the one time use products, plastic straws, bags. Let's keep Colorado green!

I first talked with Randy one of the managers and he was able to answer all of my dietary questions. Once I arrived at the store Alex another manager was more than helpful with confirming my questions. Caitlyn, our server was very patient and professional, and she made the trip worth the hype! Huge shout out to this company!!! The food and service was great.

Their mountain pies are to die for. Our pizza was made wrong the first time, but we had no idea because they quickly fixed the error. Our server, Michelle, brought out the "messed up" pizza so hold us over while our original pizza was finishing up. We never would have known because the pizza didn't take much longer anyway. She was very courteous. And she even gave us extra honey to use for the extra pizza we had leftover. We've been to the Arvada establishment, and while it was awesome too, the crust and service here blew that one out of the water.

The server was very accommodating in letting me order an ice cream sundae, which isn't on the menu, and the kitchen did an amazing job in putting it together! I also want to say how much I appreciate being able to charge my electric car for free here, courtesy of Beau-Jo's Pizza in Idaho Springs! Thank you so much! This charger made my trip along I-70 possible in my 2015 Nissan Leaf!

Really good food. The first choice is the Beaugetti. (Pasta bowl) the second is the Medium Pizza with pepperoni and hamburger. The last was an appetizer called honey cheese sticks. All were great choices.

The pizza was good, not great, but a good pie. My complaint really was with how expensive the pizza was. I personally prefer Chicago Style deep dish to this, but they are completely different styles.

This place was recommended by folks I met while on visit to Denver. I loved the thick (mountain) honey crust and the pizza was sooo delicious. Didn't think Colorado pizza could possibly beat NY but this was best ever!

A great pizza place on the way back from the mountains. Don't let the big parking lot detour you, the restaurant is big! The pizza is good, and the extra crust and honey make a simple dessert. Service is usually good, sometimes a little slow.

This location is super busy! The pizza is decent. However, you may want to think before you get a $$ side salad. As the lettuce was soggy and slimy. The service was poor. But since it so busy that might come with the territory. I guess that is to be expected. If your looking for a clean dinning experience ... this may not be the place for you.

Best Gluten Free Dairy Free pizza around. Go for the garlic and olive oil sauce and then any specialty pizza! TO DIE FOR. Wish I had a picture for you but I couldn't get one in time because my pizza was gone

Always busy, but good service, nice local beer selection, and excellent pizzas. The calzones are huge and stuffed with well seasoned meats and cheeses, and the pizzas (especially the mountain pies) are outstanding - try the cajun, and the sky hawk, if you like a spicey pie!

I brought friends here that were visiting from New Zealand. It seemed a bit run down compared to when I'd gone there in the past. The prices were ok, the service was mediocre. The atmosphere was casual. The decorations are fun for someone who's never been there. The pizza was still very good after all the years I've been going. They had gluten free options which was a bonus. Maybe it just needs to be refreshed!

Went there on a Sunday night and 3 of the draft beers I wanted they were out of. Ordered a pizza with salad bar. Went through the salad bar once, and when we went back it was all cleared away. It was only 6:00 and they did not close till 9:00. Pizza, well I have had better. Would not go out of my way to go there again.

The pizza is delicious and all the crusts are great with honey. It's a bit overpriced, but something everyone should experience while in Idaho Springs. You can ask for pizzas that are half one flavor and half the other.

As Colorado-style pizza goes, I prefer Woodys pizza in Golden, CO.

This review is based solely on the gluten free pizza crust. It was honestly terrible. I've had many gluten free crusts that are decent if not delicious, but this was not one of them. It was thin, soggy and bland and took away from the AMAZING toppings! Yes, the toppings were amazing, but the crust made the pizza unenjoyable. Very disappointing performance for such a renowned pizza place.

Beau Jo's was recommend by friends. We are glad we took their advice. The pizza and service were excellent. The salad bar was a nice treat. The decor is rustic. The salad bar is in old claw bathtubs. We will definitely go again.

Unique pizza experience. We had kalamata olives fresh basil and hatch green Chili's. Baail was fresh I appreciate that these guys bill them selves as a true Colorado pizza instead of trying to recreate a NY or Chicago pizza.

Went to get a (vegan) pizza pie. The service was fantastic, the place is super cozy (it was snowing outside) and I loved the old maps and decor here. The pizza crust was amazing, but it was a little dry. We asked for some olive oil but I think if you make a vegan pizza you should always compensate by adding some extra sauce. Also, we subbed the cheese for an extra ingredient but then got charged for it on the bill (which they fixed after we spoke up). It was good, would go again.

Favorite pizza in Colorado. We come from Colorado Springs for it. They are the best and even make us our favorite pizza from years ago that isn't on the menu anymore. The crust with honey is my family's favorite!
