Always worth visiting the BBC especially when appearing on my favourite show BBC Radio London on a Sunday night with Dotun Adebayo.

The BBC Broadcasting House tour offers a small insight into the workings and history of this great British institution. Each tour is different as it's a working building meaning some parts will be out of bounds. But you are guaranteed a look at the BBC News team live through a windowed gallery and a tour of the beautiful old art deco building that has quite a history. There are also tours of one of the TV studios and you get the chance to perform in a radio play or news cast mock up.
The tour guides were very friendly and informative and packed as much into the experience as possible. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Well, these guys use their letters of investigation to scare people and to receive money. I am a foreign student and when I have received such letter today, I have payed immediately, even thought I do not have a TV or use BBC at all. After it I have checked in the internet, that they send such letters to everybody without license. These guys use fear, who also acts in the same way?

Attending a recording? Arrive early, queue at door on west side of building, show id & get tickets validated. Then wait inside or go do something in the area. You get called through in order of validation. Staff friendly and helpful.

The radio theatre is a great historic (comfortable) place to see a show, I'd really recommend entering the ballot to get tickets.
Broadcasting House and the Radio Theatre in partic...
Broadcasting House and the Radio Theatre in particular, is one of my favourite places. If you are lucky enough to get tickets for a radio show to be recorded there you will get to see an interesting 1930s theatre. It's a small space, seating around 250 persons. The bulk of the seating is in the stalls with an overflow area in the balcony. There's no proscenium arch just raked seating opposite a slightly raised stage area. This is a fully digital radio recording studio and the sounds played back there are stunning. However, the most interesting visual feature is the wall decoration. The two main walls are divided into sections with plaster panels at the base. I have a love hate relationship with these panels. On one hand they are well executed and very much of their period. On the other I find them too like the idealised images of fit youth from Nazi Germany. One final thing, if you are tall then expect to find the balcony seating uncomfortable. The only way to avoid getting put up there is to arrive very early, be at the front of the queue and take something to read while you wait in the Media Cafe (which is very good).

I've to several recordings in the past, but this time I went with my mum to see the recording Bridget Christie's Utopia. It's a great location, the BBC Radio Theatre has seen all the comedy greats over the years! The staff are brilliant - a perfect balance of friendliness and firmness if people try to shortcut queues.

Broadcasting House is an amazing building with very interesting history and people. The tour provided by BBC staff is very informative, interactive and fun for all ages. The Media Cafe serves averagely priced cake and drinks and the BBC shop sells a wide range of BBC branded merchandise at appropriate prices.

I met that bloke who is supposed to be funny, but isn't funny, but gets paid loads to be funny and he told joke after joke after joke and my face was sore from pretending to laugh and in the end I had to vomit on his shoes to get him to leave me alone. But he just took them off and kept prattling on until I said, 'listen, I don't find you funny. Just shut up.' He called security, but they took my side and slapped him around behind the bins. True story.
