Saw BBC/NHK Broadcast of the Olympic opening ceremony in Super High Vision (8k) and 22.2 surround sound at Broadcasting House. There is no other word to describe the presentation, building and staff. That word is superb. The BBC is truly a national treasure

Attending a free show/ live audience recording for one of their comedy shows. Was a great insight and a great show. The performers made it fun even with the retakes. Def worth visiting as its what our TV licence pays for!

No point visiting unless you have an appointment or want to have a photo outside the building.

If you do have an appointment then the security process is quick and easy and the staff are friendly.

It's the BBC. How can you not love this fine British establishment. Well worth the license fee and always providing in-depth analysis of breaking news and events. Tourist or national, you'll enjoy a visit here.

Still an invaluable and unique little gem in BBC's vast newsgathering set up, despite more than a decade of brutal cuts & downsizing. BBC Monitoring Service even lost its home of several decades in Caversham Park, near Reading last year and moved to the new broadcasting house in central London. Still remains a unique gem, albeit much smaller and with a diluted identify. Here are some pictures of the iconic Caversham Park.

Time to abolish the forced licencing system that find this left wing biased outlet. The building itself is nice. You get to see some of the shows (particularly their One Show) live from the forecourt.

BBC Worldwide Service is a factory of qualitative news, video and radio programs. The building is surrounded by the aura of hard work for 24/7. Over 5K people work at BBC, so the 10-floors building provides all required amenities for all the departments of the world newsmaker.

The name of BIAFRA is written in the BBC house pavement, an artwork which was created by Canadian-born artist and architect Mark Pimlott. At the heart of BBC Broadcasting House, World reflects the global dimension of the BBC s broadcasting and consists of over 750 stone flags inscribed with place names from around the world, as well as those from history which the BIAFRA is amongst them . The artwork is enhanced by elegant steel lines of longitude and latitude.

great value as audience member for radio recording (free!!) quality entertainment. But be prepared to queue 1: to get in, 2: for a ticket stamp, 3: to get back in after you have dashed out for something to eat ... but worth it

Brilliant visit to a live recording of a radio show. Free tickets from the BBC website, well worth the journey from the Midlands. What a wonderful experience it was. Not only did we get to see a favourite author, Neil Gaiman, but also his incredible guests, among who was Peter Capaldi. What a treat!

I often come to watch the recording of my favourite radio shows, it's always a fun experience. Don't forget that you need to apply for the (free) tickets on the BBC website a few weeks in advance.

The home of Broadcasting. The tours are very informative, you get the chance of trying reading news or forecasting. Layer there's a chance to try a radio play.
Go to watch a radio show being recorded, or programmes such as The One Show.
The waiting area includes a decent Costa Coffee, and views across the newsroom.

Iconic building in downtown London. Shame you can't tour the studios etc any longer so there isn't a whole lot to see. You can however view the BBC news and weather studies from behind a large glass wall adjacent to a cafe.
