I went to see John Fiinimore perform and the whole event was fantastically organised. A treat to visit this architecturally curious building... a lot of fun!
A den of paedophiles that squeezes your money out of you pocket each month disgraceful place totally and utterly out of touch with what's going on in the world today
We went to see the news quiz and were looked after very nicely. Decent waiting area and not a bad seat in the auditorium.
Great day out for a screening of the latest Still open all hours. Got to meet sir David.
I have no idea why this is in my timeline but sure ill rate it
Went there to be part of The One Show audience a coupel of days ago. The staff was friendly and helpful. We were given clear instructions. Unfortunately there is a strict no photos no autographs policy but other than that I enjoyed my stay there.
When I entered the buildin I coudl see the newsroom. That is a thing to remember.
Beautiful building and professional staff.
Simply Amazing! Get yourself over to the Famous BBC Radio Theatre.
As monitoring services go it s tremendous. They need to upgrade the air con though.
There's a TARDIS on the road and a Dalek at the entrance.
You can come in and watch the recording studios or live programming.
Staff members were lovely and friendly. I went for the Mandela talk and had an amazing time.
Was here for a live radio taping. Beautiful building
No longer offering tours but you can go in the front lobby and see some of their operations. Staff is friendly to talk about BBC operations.
Everyone should take a visit to the BBC to watch a radio show being produced. Great day out.
Reviewing the BBC is like reviewing the NHA - a national institution and treasure. Keep on.
This is a lovely intimate art deco theatre. I would guess that it holds around 400-500 people. Have been twice now and there was plenty of leg room both times and comfortable seats. You can't ever go wrong really as the tickets are always free! You get to look out over the BBC Newsroom, which is a bit of a special place in my opinion. Only criticism is the wait in the cafe can be a bit boring.
So you're broke and have nothing to do? (or rather, know you'll be broke in about 3-5 weeks?). Book to come see some comedy here. The best comedians, actors and voice actors come here to record their shows, and the best thing is... They're free!!!
So head to the BBC website, search for "be in the audience" and come and grab some free entertainment here!
When people plotting the murder of the prime minister of india is arrested in India, BBC just worte an article (author Soutik Biswas) sympathising with the plotters and terrorists. What business does BBC and britain have meddling in the affairs of other states. These psuedo journalists are more like presstitutes and BBC should get rid of them and their opinionated articles. During the colonial times the British were the world's best Oppressors, now they are the worlds best boozers. Brexit is a boon for the europe. It will emerge stronger, wiser and brighter and htey can only thank the ever so oppressive brits for that !
An interesting and eye catching building given the pink/blue illumination, and the chance to see in the 'BBC One Show' studio on the ground floor. But the best of all, is the random single ping pong table in the corner, and yes, it still has a ping pong ball and two rackets which thankfully have not yet been lost or stolen. It's a rare thing to find in London so have a play while it's still there.
Awesome place, views and obv exciting BBC work going on :)
Nicely designed building, the head of the BBC. Sadly they don't offer tours any more.
Attended as part of a live audience for a radio comedy. Everything you would expect of this Great British institution.
The former BBC building partially destroyed during the II WW has been merged with another one. They host the biggest news center in Europe
In this building they produce some of the best news in the World.
Get a close up photograph with the tardis and a dalek guarding access to the radio recording studio.
Though outside world dislike this place thinking they dont cover stories correctly, this place looks after its own very well. Id say give this place a chance
Great experience, very friendly and extremely professional.
Great for going to see a recording of a variety of shows. Be warned you'll need to prebook and get there early.
Bbc news and bbc radio went to watch the one show nice place in a good location
It was intersting to see where the BBC broadcast from.
What a cool building. The New home of the BBC. Stage and activities sometimes laid on outside.
Great place to watch how it all happens. Was here recently for a radio show, really fun evening. Good cafe and bar as well.
Touring the BBC headquarters in London was a really fun experience. You get to see how the news is developed and presented. And of course they have numerous Doctor Who exhibits. You need to visit by the London Tube is there is no parking nearby
This is part of the new Broadcasting House complex, consisting of meeting facilities and cafe. Not open to the public if you aren't attending an event there. Very tight security to get into, and that won't get you into the main part of Broadcasting House. Say hello to George Orwell while you're there - his statue is nearby, commemorating his time at the Ministry of Truth!!
A great bit of architecture! The building is the newest BBC building and it's full of hidden beauty
Still one of the world's great broadcasting centres, BBC Broadcasting House in the heart of London has symbolised the voice of the United Kingdom since its construction in 1932. Its much larger modern augmentation is just visible attached to its right-hand side.
It would be curmudgeonly to knock off any stars when I go there for free radio shows.
The staff are always welcoming but as the BBC is publicly funded it seems to be extravagantly over-manned (personed?)
They miss a trick on catering and seating. There is a long wait to see shows, (perhaps not the most efficient entry system?), as everyone gets there early to get a good seat. There is inadequate seating in the ante room / cafeteria area.
If all were seated and had catering with a wider and more plentiful choice, someone could make a killing. Merchandise stall could do better too. (Intended as helpful suggestions.)
PS
One year on. Cafeteria much improved, good range of food and snacks. Still a seating shortage and you still have to queue the rain to get in.
I visit the BBC frequently to watch Radio Shows being recorded. The security checks and waiting around are a drag, but I fully appreciate the requirements.
Inside the building, the Media Cafe and a small BBC shop are available to the public. The former is typically priced for a London cafe and offers a view across the Newsroom. If you're lucky you will see one of the Newsreaders (they hang out on the table nearest the window) and you can just about make them out whislt they are on air.The BBC shop has a few items of memorabilia from a variety of TV shows. It's expensive, but no more than anywhere else.
Tours of the building are available, for a price, but I haven't tried them
Too bad we can not access the BBC shop if we are not accompanied by a BBC employee ... but just to see a Dalek and the Tardis, it's worth it! #doctorwho
The part accessible to the public is not very large but you can feel the British atmosphere of the BBC
I attended a radio recording of John Finnemore's Souvenir Programme, I think he is a genius, his way of thinking is beyond comedy. :-D
Full of idiots that are not in touch with the general public. They're quite happy to cover up for paedophiles, but sack people that don't deserve it!
Very interesting to be able to see the broadcasting floor.
I often attend the radio show recordings, the shows are almost always entertaining and always free (apply for the tickets on the BBC website). Having a relaxed beer in the area above the news room that you can always see on the TV is fun too.
Par excellent. Must visit iconic British broadcasting hub.
Can't give Aunty less than 5*. Google "BBC Aunty" if you don't understand.
So many people these days seem to bang the "anti-BBC drum"
Easy to forget they produce wonderful drama, other TV shows.
Their radio productions are really good and engaging.
They get picked on for bias this way-that way but all total nonsense.
I had a complaint recently and it got dealt with in a totally professional manner and I thought fairly and to my satisfaction.
Also like the BBC College of Journalism (CoJo) some really interesting stuff there.
Great organisation.
Went for the tardis and dalek. Happy they were there to take pictures with it
Brilliant night out at a recording of the News Quiz
Exciting, modern, centrally located, efficiently run.
The official building tour is great value and gives you a great behind the scenes perspective. You can use the public restaurant opposite the one show studio and watch famous TV personalities come and go
Went in to attend a tech meetup. Lovely place and incredible experience of watching the broadcasting studio finally!
A British institution. Well worth trying to get tickets to shows or going on one of the guided tours.
Amazing place full of wonderful people and the iconic birthplace of public service broadcasting. I work for them so I would say that wouldn't I?
