I've got to say food is good but execution is aweful! Bringing 2 salads to a 10 top at a time? Its amateur. Be patient cause it takes forever!!

the staff was awesome, some of the food seemed overpriced since in austin i can eat a porterhouse for less. Beer was on point, and reasonably priced though. And talking to ppl who ate, got mixed reviews on the food but i still stand by my 4 star. id give it 4.5 if i could.
Stopped by for late lunch. Noticed prices were high when I helped myself to a menu from the hostess station. No hostess or anyone greeted, told us to leave or ever acknowledged us. No salad bar as promised set up. We finally just wandered back out. No wonder it was empty when all the other restaurants along the way were packed!
We just went to 602 Brewing Company and the family really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. We staff was exceptionally nice and helpful with our food choices.
I don t like to give bad reviews but I feel I have to.
Ordered through DoorDash which has always been a good experience for us in Bastrop. It took awhile but we look passed that. My husband was so hungry he ate half of the burger before he looked at it and saw the burger was completely raw. So we checked my son s burger which was also red inside! The fries were loaded with garlic and the main salad was six leaves, a little dressing, and a handful of croutons. Maybe it was an off night but I m praying nobody gets sick from the red burgers.
Great local restaurant! The food was great, even the kids chicken was delicious-not just the usual frozen kids tenders. Cool ambiance and good service.
Food was incredible and staff is so friendly. Fish and chips were crazy delicious, with fish being light and crispy. Flavor of house salad with house ranch was light and refreshing. I don't think you could go wrong with any menu item. Would give 10 stars if I could. Will definitely be back soon. Thanks for an incredible lunch.
Seriously one of the best restaurants I have been to and to top it off perhaps the best brewery in the Austin area and I LOVE Austin Beer works, lol.
First the beer...
I sampled everyone of their beers. I HIGHLY recommend ordering the pretzel appetizer with a flight of their beers. Try all their beers first, then try them while eating the pretzle. They have perhaps the best front flavored beers I have ever had. Even if you hate beer... try theirs and it might just change your mind. Their Griswold Winter Warmer literally taste like Christmas if you are into seasonal beers as well.
Bring your own growler to take some home with you because there's not a place in Bastrop that sells growlers.
Second the food...
Not a single bad option on their menu in my opinion. Prices are fair and the plates were enough food to make you happy instead of having to leave a ton of food at the table because you can't finish it. Today we had the Fafta and the Shrimp and Smoked Gouda Grits... They were both amazing!
Third the service...
We were sat immediately on a Saturday afternoon. The people were friendly, we had beer in our hands within about 5 minutes of walking in and appetizer in about 10 minutes. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable about their menu and drinks and the local area as well.
So it not a brewery but they say they are trying to become one? Beer selection was decent, didn't try any food but it looked ok.
I found a hair in my shrimp alfredo pasta other than that it was great service was amazing atmosphere was amazing
Terrible menu composition and content. Inexperienced bar staff, poor bar stock. The Super nice people are the only plus to this place.
The staff and management really do care about you, and even in a crush take care of everyone there. Amazing beer, crew, and food. I'm coming back next year!!
This place is so quaint! I love the historical details and vintage touches. Delicious cocktails, wonderful bartenders and great atmosphere. If you love beadboard you'll love this place! 78602!!
The atmosphere was great. This review is about the less than stellar meal I ordered.
I ordered the Turkey & Sausage Gumbo with the Chiptole Hummus Plate.
The Gumbo itself was good but had a lot, and I mean a lot of oil in it. There was a layer of oil floating on the gumbo. The hummus plate was the saddest part of the experience. The hummus itself was dry and not creamy. The tortilla chips broke off while trying to scoop it. The pita bread was cold and literally smelled like someone wiped every piece across a dirty bbq grill. I also saw pieces of ingredients not used in this dish stuck to the undersides of the pita bread--was this a recycled and stale meal?
Service was terrible, seriously terrible, took 45 minutes to get a drink. It wasn't busy when we got there but 45 min to get a drink isn't good. Also had no idea who our server was during that 45 minutes. We observed other customers have to ask for something. No one was rude but definitely not running smoothly.
Now let me say that the beer, at least the two we had were very good. I had the Rising Phoenix and my wife had the Farmhouse Brown Ale, both very good. Sad that it the experience was less than adequate due to service. I am a veteran and was excited that it is a veteran run establishment but the service needs help. Management hook up your people so everyone can have a great time.
Wonderful ambiance, attentive service, full bar, great food. What an awesome surprise to find this gem in historic downtown Bastrop. Great Happy Hours offerings. Highly recommend
Beer 10, burgers and fries 10, atmosphere 10, wiener 10! Perfect 10!!!
Place was awesome. People were friendly and helpful. Sad that we were not able to test samples due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
The proprietor, Raymond Keyrouz is a highly skilled master chef, with many years of experience in the restaurant business. The hospitality here is impeccable, with gracious servers. The menu is eclectic, and very reasonably priced. There is complete bar service with many craft beers available as well. The 602 is a must experience on Main Street in Bastrop. I recommend it without reservation.
The atmosphere is nice. The side patio is great in nice weather. Love their bands on the weekends. Their menu is quirky- so I m not sure how to label the genre of entrees and such. The first time I ordered a quinoa salad, and was surprised that it was only quinoa and no greens. The portion looked small, but ended up being the right amount. The 2nd time I tried a cheeseburger with dirty rice. The burger was nice, but really nothing special, especially for $10. The side of dirty rice tasted like stuffing more than any dirty rice I ve every had.
Over all, it s a nice place, but I was not impressed with their food.
The best of Bastrop! Great food, great drinks, live music. Stop in and bring some friends.
We have been coming here for two years and have seen the highs and lows. The service tonight was great, the food was over the top amazing. If you have had a good or bad experience here in the past come back and give it another try. This is a unique dining experience in Bastrop.
Friendly service and the shrimp and cheese grits were awesome! Yum! Will definitely go back.
Great food but prices are on the higher end for the quality of food, food was good but again the prices far exceed the portions or quantity
I just ate here and the food was amazing, the service was impeccable. There was this really funny manager guy named Talbot that we met. He told our table a story and we laughed really hard because he was genuinely funny. Otherwise, you can tell whoever runs this place must be like a robot. So well done, it s almost not human. The food is a cultural affair. They offer frog legs and other things that seem French or Cajun-inspired. They have amazing fries and sauces. If I could attach two more hands to give 602 four thumbs up I would do it.
Too noisy and prices are too high for the ambience and comfort offered. Had the burger and it was decent but nothing special. Excellent staff.
Great food. Chicken fried Ribeye..... Da bomb. Must try it.
The 602 on main never fails to disappoint with the quality of their food and service even at two pm on a Wednesday. It is a rustic and welcoming atmosphere, the kind of place you would expect to serve chicken fried steak with mashed taters and gravy. Instead they cater to both sides of the coin with atmosphere and food. It is down home and refined and sophisticated at the same time. You can enjoy crab and lobster macaroni cooked to perfection while you listen to a local country band out back. I stop by everytime I am in town.
I have been tryin to catch this place for a hot minute...let me be the first the drinks were off the hook have not tried the food as of yet but I think I will be meant with he same result
Our favorite appetizer was the Artichoke Dip with Chilies, plenty of taste - no burn. You have to try the cheesy grits and shrimp. The cocktail menu is lots of fun.
3:00 in afternoon taking forever to get food. Love this place but owner needs to know he will lose business like this. People are complaining. Not busy at all. Owner needs to be checking on his establishment. My order was just received incorrect.so sad. Such a great place. Love it. To see it start to go downhill is heart breaking.
Great food. They were a little slow the day we were there, but the food was excellent. Try the Crawfish chowder. It was amazing. The shrimp and grits was really good too
Our firsto time there. Just walking down thxe street happened to see the sign. A really nice relaxing it professionally staffed place to go. Just had a drink or two there to check it out very impressed. The bartender's name was Mike and he was most accommodating to our needs as far as. drink satisfaction and quality of drink . We weren't there to eat because we had just eaten earlier. We will be back to enjoy what look like some very tantalizing food. While there met the owner and co-owner both extremely friendly down-to-earth people. Very knowledgeable about contents in ingredients of the drinks and certain ways to alter them according to taste. Can't wait until next time. I would highly recommend it to anybody looking for a good place to eat a good drink and great atmosphere.
.
Stopped in for music & drinks. Bartender was nice enough. We sat outside, and the wait staff did check on us.
quick seating, amazing food, fantastic drinks, all around very impressed :))
One of the best burgers I have eaten in awhile. Good quality meat. My husband liked his pork sliders, too. He said the coleslaw topping was very good and he is not a person who usually cares for coleslaw.
There was a huge crowd as about 60 people descended on the place all at once and they were extremely accommodating under the circumstances.
We walked in and watched as staff noticed our presence while ignoring simultaneously. We felt uncomfortable as the only minority couple present but not judging. Perhaps it was a one-off so we may attempt a second chance visit.
We had the ribeye. It was cooked to absolute perfection. The meat practically melted in my mouth. Go treat your self. It is well worth it.
Casual but elegant hang out place for locals and tourists alike. Great food, drinks and homemade desserts, as well as live music on weekends.
Delicious lunch, good beer selection and friendly staff - thanks Rich! Great place overall with a nice atmosphere. Perfect place to stop if you're headed through Bastrop.
Awesome restaurant, awesome food, great experience. The inhouse brewed beer is worth the visit alone... let alone the laid back friendly environment and staff. Great place to relax with friends and nice patio with great bands.
Great atmosphere in the town of Bastrop. The food and the service were great, and the prices were very affordable.
Good selection of food, great beers and awesome atmosphere
Bad service. Okay food. We were a bit disappointed all around.
I've tried just about every steak in town and the New York Strip at 602 was by far the best, and the cocktails were fantastic. I'll be going back soon.
nice staff, good food. The atmosphere was neat, but was a little lacking in excitement. Would try again to try other food items
Went after work for a drink and appetizers. Mussels were ok, but the pork sliders kicked ass! They were awesome! Neil was our bartender. Was super friendly, and his suggestions were spot on. Will definitely go again to try other items on the menu that sounded good. Don't miss the 602!
great food, great beer, great live music, great service... yep, pretty great.
Everything was absolute perfection including the service. Thanks Aleasha!!! We'll be back
Food and atmosphere were great, will definitely go back. It is also a great place to take visiting family.
If you're a bread liver And love rosemary.. Ask for their rosemary bread ....
I was really disappointed with the food. We had a steak that was more than half fat and gristle and tasted like it had been fried in grease. And the salad, wilted lettuce, a half a slice of cucumber and 2 little slices of carrots. I will however give our server Face a 5 star, he was great! But the food will keep us from going back.
Great staff, great foods, many brews and slapping tunes
I love the food and drinks at 602 Main! They have lovely cocktails and a nice selection of craft beers. The appetizers are a delicious selection of not your regular pub grub and the food is outstanding! The service is attentive and friendly and I ve only had wonderful experiences here. I highly recommend this renewed downtown stop.
It was a great experience, the food was super good, and service is top notch, A++++
Highly recommended
Basically if want great food, good service and like live music, this is the best place in town. Plus the owner is priceless, Raymond is personable, nice and knows his stuff
First visit. Friday early evening. Sat at bar. Ignored completely by bar staff. About 10 minutes (5 more than I should have waited) I left. I live here. Bad move folks.
Excellent food, great service, great atmosphere. A bit pricey, but not extremely so. We'll definitely go again so that we can try other menu items.
Good food. Great beer and awesome people. The staff is really amazing. We loved everything about this place. We will definitely be back. They brew their own beer onsite and it is oh so good!
Food was good. Our poor server had a party of 20 by herself,She was very seet.
Just don't go for the food. The fries may not be cooked. SNAFU
Terrible service!....we got a drink at the bar in case the patio was packed...it wasn't..Three waitresses passed our table and never said a word .we left after our one drink we bought at the bar
Cant wait to go there again. Took my wife there on a date and was blown away by the atmosphere and the attentive servers. Im already making plans to return.
Food and service is really good here. Late night spot too.
If you're in downtown Bastrop, stop by here. This place has a great selection of locally made brews. They serve wine and have great food too. I drank their blueberry stout called "Jessie's Girl" and it was great. Do yourself a favor and check this place out!
Ever since the new owner, Raymond, has taken over the 602 it just keeps getting better. On Thursday they have Suzy Q with karaoke. Friday and Saturday nights live bands play from 7 till 11. Good food, great atmosphere, yummy drinks. My only complaint is that they close to early.
Great menu and beer list! Gorgozola chicken sandwich and garlic fries were excellent! Travis and the rest of the staff were awesome. Looking forward to their upcoming house-brews and maybe getting some Texas wine on their wine list! Drink local!!
Nice place, great atmosphere, service was excellent and the food superb! (Must try the Lobster & Crab Mac and Cheese!)
I've eaten there several times and it's been really good. Food, atmosphere, service all were great. Nice to be able to watch a little football while having a helluva steak and beer.
We came in with friends on Saturday night and had dinner and listened to some live music. I had the roasted veggie platter and was excellent.
Service is one of a kind. They pay attention even when busy.
Tons of beers to choose from and it's in an old meat processing building. The doors, hangers, rails and hooks are all still up for you to see. Grab a snack or eat a great meal
Had lunch, drinks and dessert. Great food and nice atmosphere....
It was a great place! We stopped in because we heard recommendations about it. Food was great, people were socially distancing, the staff was absolutely great. Saw a great band tonight!
Great food and great service, wait staff on point and it's really nice to find menu items which support other local spots. Last time I was there wait staff from 2 nearby restaurants were there eating also. Love the option of eating inside or outside and there are still open between lunch and dinner times. Nice place!
Lovely fish dinner with veggies. They accepted my substitutions requests and service was excellent. The dinner was a bit saltier than I prefer, but it was delicious.
Cool place, good food and cold drinks.Dam good band last night.
Great meal and service. Grilled chicken with pistachio pesto sauce was outstanding. Good atmosphere for lunch.
