Laurie Rhodes Photography Review

Laurie is simply the best. During our first meeting with her, Laurie answered all of our questions, with such humor, empathy, and professionalism that we knew right away that we wanted her as our photographer. Even though it was not part of the deal, Laurie met up with the wedding party for a rehearsal in Central Park and then followed us to take some pictures at our rehearsal dinner. The pictures she took of the wedding ceremony and the reception were stunning. They made me laugh and cry all over again by taking me back to the very best day of my life.

Laurie has been taking pictures of our family annually for four years and always does a fantastic job. She captures spontaneous moments as well as posed pictures and the results are always amazing! Laurie is a fantastic photographer, but when I say fantastic I mean it. Her professionalism and the level of quality of her work is rarely seen. Laurie was the best investment of my wedding! She was so flexible, so responsive, and she was willing to accommodate photographing a variety of very unique cultural traditions, which required a lot of creativity on her part. Any question I had, she answered. Any problems I encountered, she solved. She was my photographer, but had so many great ideas that it was almost like she was a wedding coordinator too! Laurie Rhodes is not only the most talented, creative, professional photographer I have ever met, she is kind, considerate, accommodating, always happy and helpful with ideas we never would have thought of but ecstatic that she did! Beyond Amazing. From the minute we met with Laurie I knew we were in good hands. As an out-of-towner our stress levels were pretty high. She was calm, encouraging and well knowledgable of the area. She listened to our ideas, helped add and direct and came through flawlessly... and didn't break the bank. We took amazing photos the day before the wedding in central park - she helped corral 100 folks (none of which lived in the city and many had never visited before...) with patience and efficiency. We took amazing group shots and incredible ones of us. We are just starting to get the pictures back and I have no words. She not only captured the spirit of the day, the love between the two of us but she helped create the perfect backdrops, shadows, and lights to take in the beauty of the city and our venue. Laurie was a sweet, wonderful and calm photographer. She captured lovely and fun pictures for our family portrait and baby pictures that were candid and really showed our personalities. I greatly appreciated her skills and talent. We will definitely use her again for our next portrait.

If you are looking for a photographer that has a great eye and a wonderful sense of narrative for capturing your special day through the lens of a camera, I would whole heartedly recommend Laurie. We were on a rather tight budget, so while I could have found someone less experienced and less expensive, I am glad we didn't. We now have incredible memories that I will last a lifetime. I've printed out quite a few and have them all around the house. They make both of us happy to remember such a joyous occasion.

Laurie was amazing. She captured very intimate moments without ever "getting in the way". She was always responsive and made the whole process easy. A pleasure to work with.

Laurie Rhodes tackles everything in much the same manner . with gusto and a real yearning to do the best job possible. I had always noticed the photos she took which adorned the walls of her office at Paramount where she and I had worked together. When she decided to leave her job as an executive at Paramount and pursue photography as her means of livelihood, I had no doubt that she would be a success at that as well as in the entertainment industry. I hired her to shoot my wedding in 1998 and the photos turned out fabulously.
If you know me well, you d know that I almost never like photos of myself :-O and I am a perfectionist. Well, I was extremely happy with the results. Laurie s style of documentary shooting is just stunning in her ability to capture a moment, a thought, and an essence in a single photo. She truly loves her work and it shows in the way she interacts with people whether from behind the camera or on the street. I recommend Laurie s work wholeheartedly! The funniest thing is that the folks who hire Laurie to shoot their weddings, end up hiring her again to shoot their babies photos in a year or two following the wedding! Judy
