Great selection and huge.

Great selection and huge.
Free WiFi and star bucks available.
Also a clean toilet - not a matter of course in New York.
The prices are not the best but ok.
Be sure to visit the beach bookstore and compare prices

Store is big but renovation is needed. Bathroom is next to children reading area, not safe for kids. You can see homeless people inside the bathroom. Bathroom is not children friendly, the urinal is too high up to the kid's chest. Bad!

Sales team is incredibly helpful and was willing to look for a book that I was having trouble finding on the shelves. Always a great place to curl up with a book in between the shelves and spend a lazy afternoon.

No place to sit in extremely large cafe, too many sleepers and daylong plants. Great cafe area to go to for the whole day if you just want to blog and not buy anything. Sidenote: as with other Barnes and Noble stores, Starbucks does not accept Starbucks gift cards.

I could explore this place all day. I'm slowly converting to a digital book gal but there is something magic about picking up a book. Love exploring the shelves and being inspired personally and for loved ones. Great place to find a present for someone or yourself!

An entire floor of toys and children's books.
For a moment I was upset about toys in a bookstore, but then I realized it was a great pairing. Objects for play for both the hands and mind.

The location I visited was in Union Square (NYC). Place is well run and maintained as usual. Easy accessibility from the street for all alike. I believe the store is equipped with an elevator besides escalators to each floor. This unit is spotless and well cared for. Seating areas area off-limits due to Corona Virus period, but everything is well stocked and properly looked after. Staff is knowledgeable and informed, well trained, passionate, and patient. A joy to visit and support. Lines are reduced to a minimum with very sparse on-site shoppers during this period.

LOVE THE PLACE
I for one enjoy going throw book stores and discovering interesting new book to have, and this store is the mother lode.

Massive book store north of Union Square park. They host book launches with renowned authors and many other events throughout the year. The store spans multiple levels but still manages to feel charming and cozy. There s a large section dedicated to children s books and toys. There s a B&N cafe serving Starbucks coffee and free WiFi. The public restroom is on the second floor.

I love going to this bookstore. The crowd is always diverse and the employees are always helpful and welcoming. Most of my books come from barnes and nobles. Sometimes you come for a book and leave out with something remarkable!

really nicely organized, laidback despite how busy it always is it s also big & yet not too overwhelming,bc all four floors aren t too wide or large they re the perfect size. This is just me personally, but i just wish Barnes and Noble sold more indie non predictable books and used books. To focus less on the ever abundant popular bestselling new books which usually are very boring & just not interesting to me. But i loved the Maps and Atlas Section and the children s section was very nice too. Fiction & Non fiction (American History,Biographies etc.) were a letdown, but overall i give a rating of five stars for the very pleasant atmosphere, nice restrooms & variety in the four floors even if the selection of books isn t generic and ordinary & not creative, but then all Barnes and Noble tend to be boring these days. I much prefer the book selection and diversity of Amazon & the Strand, but this location is very nice & a good store better than any Long Island B&N. i enjoyed it very much.

Celebs galore, lots of John Douglas books Awesome huge 4 story book store with escalators. Spotted lots of celebrities on a Friday and Saturday afternoon. Perfect place to get kids toys as well. Right next to a well known park which is full of multimillion dollar condos. Gorgeous spot if midtown.

6 floors of all you can read. What a super store. Clearly marked sections so you can easily find what you are looking for. They have a modest range of toys but some very interesting educational ones. Great service. If, like me, you enjoy books, you could get lost in here for hours...

Barnes & Noble is a decent place to just chill and read a variety of works from different authors & genres! Located right outside Union Square Park, it is easily accessible by subway, bus or whatever. The staff there are knowledgeable and More

Super friendly staff! I appreciate the Starbucks and the seating they have available. I only wish they had a few more tables, but it's still great. They've never NOT had any item I was looking for. And super organized. When I ask for assistance instead of giving me directions to where I can find a specific book, they've always physically helped me find it. I totally appreciate that.

Great bookstore! 4 floors right by union square market which is great. All school textbooks are on the self for your convenience. Customer service desk is very fast and helpful. I get my medical books here and never had a problem looking for them.

Do you like books? Do you need a book? Then there is no better place to go than Barnes and Noble Union Square. They have 4 stories full of beautiful rectangular objects called books. You can easily spend half a day browsing the expansive collection of books they have available. Worth a visit, no doubt about that.

Besides being such a huge place with 4 floors they have events such as Lindsey Stirling and don't have extra charges besides buying the book! Staff has been kind so far to such a huge crowd for event.

Although this is not the same B&N as 10-15 years ago, it still makes an incredible impression. Above all, this is a beautiful tenement house at Union Sq., But probably also the best-stocked bookstore in New York. A place worth seeing for a real bibliophile.

As expected, this store was full of books. What did surprised me though, is how many toys they stock as well. A good part of the second floor is toys and board games. Next time we're in the neighborhood I'm going to bring my son here.

I think I was informed that this is the largest B&N in NYC. It has 4-5 floors of everything...to try and keep up with Amazon. They always have sections of games, books, and miscellaneous items that are 50%-75% off, and it's fun to go through that, bc sometimes you can find a particular Lego or something you didn't realize you wanted.

Otherwise we just come to pick up the latest book in the kids section, and go through some of the new series that have come out. It's a well organized B&N store, and you rarely find books or toys out of place.

Although B&N seem very well staffed, unfortunately, the kids section never seems to have anyone who works there. If you have a question, you'll have a difficult time finding someone, and once you do, 8 out 10, they act as though they have never read a kids, tween, or teen book before, and certainly don't know any of the Authors or where any particular one is. It's a guessing game and each time, we think, we should have just looked ourselves...

There isn't a place to checkout on each floor, only the first floor, but plenty of it, so you don't have to wait too long, even when the lines look it.

As far as events, there seem to be more things going on for adults. They need to make more regular programs and events for kids/tweens/teens.

Oh, there are no places to charge any of your devices here, not even upstairs at the B&N/Starbucks cafe...we've asked and we have tried. We got scolded at for finding an outlet in the ground and using it... :( The second time around we asked and were told to go across the street to any coffee shop.

There are no cozy couches or chairs here to sit around and read to your child...you'll find people on the floor doing that...

This location is different than others, and not in great ways, but bc of it's size and offerings, it's the one you want to go to if you need a book, bc they will be the one that most likely carries it.

This has to be the largest Barnes and Noble I've been in. Or, maybe it just feels that way since it's four stories. Regardless, it's a great store. I can't comment much on the rest of the store, but the top floor was great. That's where all of the science fiction, fantasy, and mystery novels were.

I probably spent two or three hours in there one Saturday evening with several others, browsing and reading the latest and greatest. Went in with an idea of what I wanted, but wound up with many other books due to the numerous hidden gems and independent releases that could be found.

The board game section also had an interesting selection. Several items I had never come across before. I ended up snagging a set of "Settlers of Catan" drink coasters (Stoneware, no less!) for some friends of ours, and they loved it!

I would definitely go back! It was reassuring to note that they always seemed to have at least one police officer on duty in the store. I'm not sure of the crime situation in Union Square, but this certainly helped make me feel better.

I have no experience with this aspect of it, but I hear they do many book signings and readings at this location. Half of the top floor was dedicated to an auditorium of sorts, with many seats set up and a podium and projector screen. I'll have to check out their calendar and see if anyone I want to see is coming!

Maybe this is the first time to find a bookstore with a classic design and stand alone on the side of the road. The shop is always crowded and became a place for famous people to book signage. For fans of books when coming to NYC must come here.
