Yolanda Terrence Review of Barnes & Noble Booksellers

This has to be the largest Barnes and Noble I've been in. Or, maybe it just feels that way since it's four stories. Regardless, it's a great store. I can't comment much on the rest of the store, but the top floor was great. That's where all of the science fiction, fantasy, and mystery novels were.
I probably spent two or three hours in there one Saturday evening with several others, browsing and reading the latest and greatest. Went in with an idea of what I wanted, but wound up with many other books due to the numerous hidden gems and independent releases that could be found.
The board game section also had an interesting selection. Several items I had never come across before. I ended up snagging a set of "Settlers of Catan" drink coasters (Stoneware, no less!) for some friends of ours, and they loved it!
I would definitely go back! It was reassuring to note that they always seemed to have at least one police officer on duty in the store. I'm not sure of the crime situation in Union Square, but this certainly helped make me feel better.
I have no experience with this aspect of it, but I hear they do many book signings and readings at this location. Half of the top floor was dedicated to an auditorium of sorts, with many seats set up and a podium and projector screen. I'll have to check out their calendar and see if anyone I want to see is coming!
