They need to open up more Barnes & Noble outlets, love this location. Missed the days when they were everywhere. The good ol'days, but the staff are still nice as ever!

Nice reading area on the second floor. Staff rarely knowledgeable about titles yet store has a good inventory. Also sell lots of toys, trinkets, and tchotchkes
They'll have practically every type of book you'd be potentially interested in. There's also always someone there to help find what you need and order it for you if necessary. From the most mainstream genres, to more obscure works, you're highly likely to find it here. If you're just looking for a quiet place to read, you're able to do that as well.
Nice to go ino an old school bookstore. The cafe is large and there were seats available (on a weekend) and the line to the ladies bathroom took about 10 minutes. 4 floors to explore.
Good spot for my tinder dates.
Great and easy access to wifi. NO power outlets whatsoever. Don't bother looking for them, I've checked. Trust. I've been around this area for over 6+ years for college & work. 4 floors of books, 2nf floor Starbucks. Great place to read, have meetings and anything else you might need open space for. If you can't find a place in the 2nd floor, you can always find it in the 4th floor.
Very complete bookstore, with stores everywhere. They usually include coffee and baths for clients. Everything designed for a day that combines shopping and reading. The staff in charge of care is very attentive and willing to help.
Big book store with tons of genres.
And a coffee shop! They also do book signings here. I enjoyed myself. Such a great selection!
Wonderfully arranged and very easy to navigate in and fine what you are looking for. Helpful and welcoming staff. Audio section is in the back (entrance level) and has a wide verity of music, dvd movies and audio books.
Very large and clean. Everything is organized well, and the cashier was really nice when I bought a book. There are police officers near the entrance to make you feel extremely safe.
Huge bookstore. Good variety and discounts. Highly recommend.
Customer service was great, however they did not honor the Educator discount card.
My favorite bookstore in NYC . It has a wide selection of paper backs and hardcover books ranging from fashion magazines, self help to my favorite romances . They have areas and chairs where you can sit and read like the fourth floor "assembly" (you can sit there when there are no events) and the cafe on the third floor. There's also a children's area on the second where all the children books are . The bathroom though most of the time is packed (at least for females) and does carry a urine odor at times. They also have movies and nook products and stationary on the first floor. The staff is friendly and helpful when you need it.
They have a quality selection of books here in the 4 floors available. You could easily spend 1 hour to 1 1/2 hours here just reading in the space they have in the fourth floor for people to sit down. Also, the Starbucks is quite nice just to get a cookie and relax. Be weary though, there is a cramp for sitting if they are filming on the fourth floor.
I think Amazon is killing this place. Lots of nice homeless people here too
Super cool. 4 floors of books upon books. The girl at the information desk was very helpful!
Best book store of NYC I guess...really worth a visit.
I love this book store so much. They have such a great collection for NYC. Not to mention bathrooms if you're ever in the need around union square. Pretty good selection of graphic novels on the top floor. The lecture area is great when you just want to relax and sit indoors for a while (provided there is no lecture/event). It's in a fairly lovely old building as well.
I always love how much a variety they have in stock but some books are overpriced. Definitely check the website first to confirm they have your book in stock. Also invest in a membership card if you plan on buying many books throughout the year otherwise save your money if you're not buying more than 2 a year.
One of my favorite bookshop in New York! I've to force myself in order not to buy all the books !
Moreover, the website allows to order and send it to Europe, which is great because sometimes it's cheaper that going to an American bookshop in Paris or Brussels !
My favorite bookstore in the city! You can find literary anything in there! There is a cafe at the third floor, and a lot of people reading at the floor - it's cozy and shop stuff, besides being always very busy, is nice and helpful.
I love this place mainly becauae my son lovea to come here and interact with other kids as well as have story time the occasional activities and the fact that its in union Square
Now that the Virgin Megastore is gone - this is the store that replaces its void
There are always books for all occasions: D and of different prices
I love coming to this particular Barnes and Noble in the city. This place is so well organized and spaced out. I can stay here for hours unlike the other ones. I get overwhelmed and dizzy. So come to this one at Union Square. It so easy to find what you need. Just saying.
One unique Barnes and Nobles with a fascinating interior design with pillars. Find a seat next to the window on the 3rd floor Starbucks Cafe and enjoy the view while reading your favorite book. Customer service is excellent!
Books and more, a nice variety and selection of reading material
Excelent selection and variety of books, music, films, stationery, etc.!
Beloved flagship. Four floors of books, magazines, toys and games, and events. A cafe is located on the third floor. Check the Nook department on the first floor, towards the back for a variety of Nook devices, as well as a 3D printer, and other neat electronic goods.
Love it. It's a NYC landmark for us natives and an awesome hangout.
I love Barnes and Noble. Booooks. So. Many. Books. Also, this one is huge. The children's floor (because they get a whole floor, not just a little section) also has toys you can buy and a play section.
Beware of all your time being spent here. It's almost like a maze... you walk in and realize how big the place is and how much there is to browse through.
Definan place to get different types of Knickknacks.... there's books, magazines, activity items, post cards, local artist artwork, jewelry, anime... anything you could think of.
My home away from home. My favorite location. Easy from public transportation. Polite, warm, and knowledgeable staff. Excellent events. And a great selection of merchandise.
All the books you need, my favorite toys are brainy
Cashiers and staff in general are very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. This is by far my favorite place to go in Union Square. Perfect for Christmas shopping!
Ginormous book store... Lots of seating and places to eat... Great Union Square location
Even though after COVID-19 you won t see too many people in here, but still a really great bookstore to find out what make you re interested to read.
Books for 8 grade, 9 grade and above. Great prices.
Great staff. The products are well displayed and they have a huge variety of Funko Pop. If you are having problems finding them, Barnes & Noble is the place to get them.
One of their biggest and best stores. Love the kids section and all of the toys. Very easy to find what you need.
Spacious seating space at the Starbucks in the building
Love the experience of ordering online and picking up in store - saving so much cardboard for deliveries!
Great location, plenty of places to sit and read. Choose to public transit.
As the bookstore is quite large, there are many kinds of books. So I could buy the books I wanted without ordering. People have a bit more sense of location than others, but they do not hinder it.
I've never been a fan of big box bookstores. And this one is no different. While the staff is nice you will not get recommendations here. For instance I love Picoult but if you want another author similar then use Google or Goodreads to find him or her.
Four floors. Every book you can imagine but it's impersonal shopping.
Fast and easy. If they don't have it they will order it or point you where to get out of print editions.
Great. Selection. Madeline. Ajaright. Visited and. Signed. New. Book
The best place where you can read and study without any disturbance and distraction.
Lot of books. Lots of options including some cool toys for kids (even adults) to browse. They even have a Starbucks.
Staff was rude and was no help in finding the book I was looking for.
Wonderful bookstore. Multicolored. Staff very helpful. Cafe. Author appearances often. Books, magazines, DVDs, records, candy. Toys. A quick trip possible, but so much there I usually stay for quite awhile.
Good variety of books, music and toys. Impeccable attention
