my 9 year old love these place, he can find every new book his looking for. They have an amazing little corner for kids to sit and read, on the second floor. We enjoy going together to find new books
One of the largest B&N in NYC.
Large selection of books and many New York City related gifts on the first floor. They have great book launch events, I ve seen Anthony Bourdain, Jimmy Fallon and Chelsea Clinton here.
Very nice Barnes & Noble with good selection of books and nice sitting area
All I have to say is " Books cost too much, that's why I opened Crown books, now U never have to pay full price for books.. " that's an 80's commercial reference. Sorry Barnes & Noble. It had to be said!
Was clean, quiet, have clean barhrooms, Starbucks on second floor, and great customer service help
This Barnes & Noble is so big! I love to get the bargain priced books and they had the biggest selection of those books! Highly recommend!
absolutely amazing, great selecion of books, board games and a starbucks....brilliant
This Barnes and Noble had a great variety of books. I could spend days in there. Would definitely recommend this place to a book lover
One of few last large book stores remaining in the city. The best place to kill time in Union Square.
Very busy book store. Has a Starbucks and seating cafe area. Also separate reading area. Used for book signings sometimes. Very knowledgeable staff as well. Great book and magazine selection.
A huge selection on books to buy read and learn from. Very nice quiet. Friendly people are there and very kind staff.
This store is freaken amazing. I can spend hours looking for books and reading them. This store is really big and there is a big selection of books.
Big store. Staff not too nice. I guess I was expecting the feel of a small bookstore...
I always like visiting the Barnes and Noble in Union Square.
This place was actually surprisingly well organized, with everything in its place. I walked a mile from my hotel in the rain and it was worth it. Wish there was a place like this in my hometown!
I have a great time when I visit here. I like to explore the Rowe's of books.
Love the selection and cafe upstairs. The kids reading section is divine for parents.
Great offer of books, magazines, writing material (notebooks of all kinds, pens, etc) and (although less) toys.
You can also find the pop up store of their own e-book, on the ground floor.
The building itself is worth the visit and also has a bathroom and cafeteria on the upper floor.
I love this place. They are always having book signings so you get to meet the authors
A massive and various selection - I regret not living in this store.
Large selection amd helpnwas easy tp.dind and friendly.
Very good, there is a great diversity of books. It would be necessary that they be ordered by author or title, that is, in alphabetical order, so that it is a little easier to find something specific, that is why the 4 stars. They are also by gender and you can consult a seller, if you find any free
This is a multi-floor B&N. I like stopping by when in the area. They have a Starbucks and seating area a couple of floors up.
Excellent place to buy all kinds of books, you can see and read comfortably in the premises. Fast Wifi
Big, variety, nice book store, wish there were seats for people
Fun place to hide from the world and read and study
Love this place my only grip "is there nowhere to sit when you found a good book really which they start putting benches up
It's so important to be able to go into a store and find just about any book you want. They staff is knowledgeable and very helpful.
An open bookstore! What's not to love? The staff is friendly & helpful.
This location has been my favorite bookstore anywhere for almost 20 years. Even though most of my book purchases these days are electronic, I still love going in here with my children, who have also come to love the store.
Very huge, lots of books. They don't let you sit in the floor anymore. They try to make you sit in a rows ew
Crowded corporate. You'll have to order most books
i love the Sat morning storytelling session. The best storyteller in the NYC.
This is tha best Barns & Noble store in New York they have evrrything that u want and more tha staff does not bother u they let u read tha books and find what u want my experience was good , tha staff was helpful and kind
It had a really good collection of books and stationary. The Starbucks inside the store is quite convenient.
Friendly and helpful staff. Huge with an enormous selection of items.
Easy to get lost, employees aren't too helpful. Had to talk to 3 employees until I found one that actually helped me. Last guy was very nice and thorough 10/10 for that last employee forget his name but great guy.
3or4 floors of books and everything else related to your favorite story/film
Excellent. You fall in love with everything. My favorite photographers books! !! And designers
Always great place. Coffee shop is crowded and i obserb many people that were not consuming but using the space. I guess they were homeless. I think the coffee shop need to improve.
I love this book store, or has the best selection of books
Wide selection of books for all ages, kindness of the cashier,
Lots of interesting books and a nice place to hangout
This Barnes & Noble is very large on the inside and it seems like many well known authors come here to do their book signings.
Always what you want and more, if not you can have it shipped
Great big store and Starbucks Cafe... plus lots of special guests
There are many level to this store. Books in every direction you look. Also, there's even other services available in here.
Great selection. In my opinion the best book store in NYC. Conveniently located and good service. And in case you are in a hurry order online and pick-up in the store, does not get better than that.
I declare myself a fan of the Barnes and Noble bookstore, it delights me to explore its shelves and floors of different themes and surround myself with the best friend of the human being: the book. With its sober facade in capital letters on English green, Barnes and Noble invites you to travel with your imagination through novelties and old editions.
Couldn't find books about mathematics. Well equipped with general books, such as fiction and non-fiction.
A great place to take a break in union square. Quiet corners for tucked away reading. Friendly staff. The bathrooms can be smelly and messy but nobody hassles you for using them!
Very large classic bookcase, with a wide selection not only of books. It also has an indoor bar.
Well located brick and mortar bookstore. Cosy and comfortable coffee shop located upstairs. Downside of the store is a limited selection: the store seems to cater only to customers with far-left liberal views. Maybe to be expected in Manhattan. But more variety in the book selection, and more political balance, would be a plus.
This B&N has been here forever and still gets tons of traffic. Always clean and packed full of awesome literature
A little disappointed with this institution, the choice is not so great given the space occupied.
Best bookstore in NYC! Great customer service and beautiful books. If you need blank music notes here you can find them.
What a wonderful store and so huge. I was able to find what I needed from the help of the staff and enjoyed the quiet, simply sitting and soaking in all the books while I waited for my date.
My favorite place to be..i'm a kid in a candy store when i'm there!:)
It has a variety of books of all kinds, in several languages, there are magazines, coffee, children's area, movies, music and very nice place.
This Barnes & Noble location never disappoints. The multi-story design means plenty of space to roam and find great books, and the stage and event area that's often set up near the art literature makes for an awesome area to sit back and browse your findings. I especially appreciate how close knit the staff seems to be, and how helpful they are without being overbearing. Always a great place to get out of the summer heat to escape the Union Square hubbub, grab a coffee, get lost in some reading, and find a something new to bring home.
Certainly one of the best places to buy books in New York. It s spacious and has a great selection PT books.
You will find the reading material you looking for here. Good customer service.
All shelves are full of incomplete series so you barely find an entire series. The short girl with the black short hair needs to not work in retail if she hates working around people as much as she shows she does. Such a rude person.
I highly recommend for when you want a warm place to read books or magazines without spending anything, you can take your coffee and have it inside. Also charge your phone
Great environment, has Starbucks, and any book they dont have in stock they are willing to order.
