Absolutely loved it!

Absolutely loved it!
I had the omakase, which you can taste variety of dishes adjusted to your likes / dislikes.
The dishes are made with love and butter (you will taste a lot of this) so come prepared to eat! We were stuffed even before the main course but I'm glad we finished everything till the end.
Mussels are a must if they are in season (I believe they finishe around early November). But meat dishes were amazing too, we had the lamb, I usually don't like lamb because of they gamey taste and tough texture, but this specific brand (Te mana) had no smell and it was so tender in the mouth. I can say it was the best lamb dish I had, and I don't even like lamb.
The desserts are also phenomenal, so please save room and try them.

If you like fine dining food but in a casual environment, this is for you :)

No value for the price. The fish and chips are indistinguishable from frozen store bought food but for 10x the price. Fois gras for $30 gets you what should cost $15. Seeing Wagyu for $170 gives me no confidence they would deliver value for that either.

Delicious and creative meals -- try the omakase and you won't regret it! Very friendly staff, casual setting. Wines are well chosen for the food and very good value for money. Not accessible: one or two steps outside, two or three inside.

Excellent drinks and food. It is hard to find a well served drink but this place knows how to do simple things well.

Pomerol by the glass and cold draft beer served well.

Set lunch was amazing.

Highly recommended.
Head chef greeted us and made us feel so welcome.

This was the best restaurant find in 2020. The food was exceptional. The charcuterie board was fantastic: the chicken liver pate was fresh and tasted great. The mussels were sweet and the stock was so aromatic.

The steak was flavourful and the texture was great.

Overall this was the best meal I had in 2020 and I hope the Chef keeps up the good work in maintaining the standards in the restaurant.

Service staff were attentive and friendly throughout the meal.

We came for dinner for restaurant week. Almost all the dishes were perfect, the tuna ceviche was fresh and tangy, the mussels were the best we have ever had, the beef flank was flavourful and juicy, and the lemon meringue tart was just the right amount of crunch, tartness and sweet. The barramundi with risotto was disappointing however, the skin was over charred and had a bitter taste, while the rice grains were underdone and parts rubbery/chalky.

We have the honour of Francois serving us as chef. The Omakase or Chef menu was fantastic. We enjoy almost all the dishes especially the pasta with uni and pork Jaws; the cold appetiser needs a bit of getting used to.

Nice location, great ambience, accomodating staff and excellent food ... BUT my 5 star rating is really for providing great affordable fare. This was my first time to visit and was the selection of my guest, who got to choose the place having won our annual football bet. I arrived 20 minutes early and found we had no reservation but they seated me at a nice table and served me until my guest arrived late. Fortunately my guest is a health nut and does not drink. The best deal was the 3 course lunch set menu at $38. Good variety of entree, main dish and dessert plus you can opt for specialty dishes (lamb, octopus salad) at nominal markups. I suspected the place was a bit to posh for me and would make a major dent in my wallet. Two attractive French ladies arrived early and sat at the next table chatting in the native tongue. When I heard them order bouliabaisse ... one of my all-time favorite dishes, if it prepared well. We both ordered specials ... mine was salmon tartare entree with seabream fish ... exquisite, perfectly prepared and well-presented. The only possible criticism is the staff got a bit overwhelmed ... the place got packed (and we got in without a reservation) and was a little slow to take the order. But it was served quickly and it put us both in a great mood. I sneaked a peak at the wine list. Choice wines but a little outside my budget. The well-heeled should love this place, but I was very grateful to have an outstanding lunch for under $100. When I hit the jackpot I will come back and do it right.

Absolutely fantastic dinner last night at Bar-A-Thym! We did a la carte and can vouch for the foie gras, tomato Tarte Tatin with burrata, cassoulet, lamb chops and potato gratin (with Epoise omg!). The NZ lamb rack was the best I ve had in Singapore. The cherry on top was the service. At the beginning we ordered bubbles and I quickly learned I don t like biodynamic champagne... no issues at all, the owner was very gracious and kind and helped me select something I d enjoy more. The servers were very attentive as well without being overbearing. Highly recommend for a special night out or celebration. We will be back!

Got the chance to try Bar A Thym out through restaurant week. Great ambience and food, particularly the Beef Ragu pasta here. Service was sincere and it was the small touches that left a great impression (eg providing envelopes for masks during this period, sanitizers etc). Would love to come back and try the other great dishes Chef Francois and team has up their sleeve.

Our party dined on a Friday afternoon and had the business lunch set. Whilst my food: frog legs and pork, both suggested by the young man who took care of our table, was pretty good, this review is in response to the appalling service I received towards the end of our meal.

I had earlier asked if the dessert suggested by the host was very sweet as it would not have been to my liking, to which she responded that it wasn t (it was a Cherry Cobbler, something I wasn t familiar with).

After giving my feedback that it was way too sweet for my liking, I immediately got a snarky response it s not sweet to me, you should have an espresso with that followed by her immediately turning her back and walking away. This was by far one of the worse service experience I ve had in such an establishment.

Whilst I think this encounter warrants a no stars at all, I appreciated the customer recovery effort by the young man who took care of our table, after I had explained the situation.

At the same time, I don't think it s fair to punish the rest of the team with a 1 star review, and in seeing that no one else had a problem with the service here, I m hoping that this was a one off incident.

Really, the worse experience ever. Waited almost 5 hours for food drink and dessert. No apology from the service staff. We sat at the back of the restaurant where there wasn t any AC.
Waited about 20 mins for the bill to arrive. Service staff obviously do not know what s going on. The worse was when we left, the chef was at the entrance, and there wasn t even a thank you or good bye. Great Friday night.

A good friend sent a belated birthday meal to me to enjoy with my family. We were so wowed by the tenderness of the lamb rack. My daughter said it was the best lamb rack she had ever tasted and she lived overseas for 4 years. We like all the items accompanying this Provence feast. Last year this time, we were about to embark on our Provence holiday. This meal brings back such wonderful memories, evoking the taste of Provence. Yummy x10!
We will go for the lunch set and French omakase when CB is over. Look out for the Chias.
Thanks also, Chef Francois, for the encouraging note. Yes, we will overcome this fight together!

Had a great lunch Friday (the set lunch is a jolly good deal and excellent food). Then had an even better dinner Saturday night.

The food was some of the best we have had in singapore (and globally). The staff and chef owner were also all terrific - very friendly and helpful. The chef is obviously passionate and cares about what he does.

The restaurant is quite small (which adds to the ambiance) on a tucked away street. Don't be fooled by the name with Bar within in it. This is a top quality restaurant for a special night out.

Many thanks for wonderful food, we will be back very soon! Richard and Poppy

So we went there couple times and l love the food so much. The chefs and most of the staff were so generous and accommodating with their menu. When things come to the reservation I was so disappointed. They never answer the phone even just said sorry we are fully booked or whatever, but at least answer the phone call more professional. You tried to call them they just hang up on you and repeat over over again for 5 times. When you just want to let them know you need to change the timing. Hopefully the manager will training whoever pick up client call more respectful and professionally .

Very enjoyable experience! The staff makes sure to keep you informed as you progress and should there be any issue or delay, you can rest assured you will be notified. I recommend the Paris-Brest for dessert. It can be an incredibly difficult task to get it right but Bar-A-Thym nailed it - one of the best of its kinds

Amazing food and service. We came here for dinner for the first time to celebrate a good friend s birthday, and it was the best decision ever. The food was excellent, with every dish we ordered well-executed. I ve always had a special fondness for Paris Brest, and I daresay Bar-A-Thym executes one of the best renditions I ve ever had (including those from bakeries and restaurants within France). The ambience was lovely and comfortable with the tables being well spaced for social distancing (and with the staff taking the usual pre-cautionary measures including safe entry and temperature taking at the door, QR code menus, provision of hand sanitizer and even a thoughtful envelope for the masks) and service was outstanding. We felt thoroughly at home dining here. Compliments to Chef Francois and to his team for the amazing dining experience. We ll be back.

Thoroughly enjoyed our time here with Chef Francois! We had an omakase lunch setup, as my friend was familiar with the owners and servers here at the restaurant. Ended up having such an enjoyable lunch with the beef steak, the desserts, and the pate starters. Chef Francois even made his all-famous lamb chops, which in all honesty didn't quite have the meaty lamb taste! That, to me, is the most surprising of all.

For the level of service that they have, and the quality of food, I'll definitely be back for a date or celebration of sorts!

We had dinner here on 28 September. We were shown to a table for 2 beside an older couple. It was only once seated that we noticed the lady had a foot in a bandage and she had it propped on the sofa, right beside us. We went through the entire meal with her bare foot right beside us (it was a tight space!). Even though the food and service were decent, we rushed through it because we were truly disturbed by the Foot. When we pay $300 to have a nice dinner in a nice place, this is the last thing we need. If service staff were more attentive, they would have seated the couple in a cozy corner where the lady and her Foot wouldn t be un anyone s face. A Long way to go in terms of providing an experience worthy of the price tag.

5th time in 2 years. Food and service is consistently top notch and never fails to live up to expectations. Be it an intimate gathering for 2 or a night out with friends, it's always a good choice.

Recommended dishes:
Charcuterie Platter: Especially the Duck Rilettes, Foie Gras and Chicken Liver Mousse)
Morisseau Mussels: Fresh and meaty mussels tossed in their tomato cream sauce is their signature. Slightly spicy, acidic but rich at the same time.

Ambiance is perfect for family gathering, late night staff party and love birds dating.
Thou located in the small alley in the city, it is always crowded so remember to make a booking.
For just around SGD100+ per person, you will be in for a superb dining experience.
Menu changes once in a while so go for Omakase you will not regret it.
My personal favourites are the Uni Pasta, Pork Jowl and the HUGEEE Beef COTE DE BOEUF that comes with potato gratin and seasonal vegetables.
