Will take minority baby upon suspicion of marijuana use even when drug screen proves negative. Are there human traffickers working here? Possible. If you are pregnant, do not go to this hospital. They can and apparently will kidnap your child. Beware.

Absolutely the worst ER experience in my life. I had faster care going to the LA free hospital with lines out the door. This place was heavy impacted by the flu so I'm sure that is my parting gift. Hospitals normally keep the ER and additional rooms set to 74 because germs don't spread as fast. This hell of a place had all the rooms with heaters on to 85!!! Waited in both trauma rooms and even got a bed..... Well 6 damn hours later.... And yet I had no provider signed up to see me. All the doctors are contracted so there is no care here. I offered 1k to please end this endless wait and please see a doctor... Of course, they said no. This place smiles to your face while twisting the knife causing more pain and agony. I ended up just releasing myself and taking my chances. If I end up in a car crash, I would opt to go to the further hospital because this place sucks so bad... Even a single star is way too much. Avoid this place like the hell itself.

As a very pregnant woman, concerned not only for m...

As a very pregnant woman, concerned not only for my health but also for the life and health of my unborn child, I do not suggest that you use Banner Thunderbird s OB Triage Unit. I am a high-risk VBAC patient with reasonable concerns about my own life and the life of my unborn daughter Amelya.

On November 5, in possible active labor, I was sent to be checked for contractions and to make sure my waters were intact. I evidently ruined some unknown (as she refused to identify herself) nurses day by my unborn child being in distress. She had nothing but attitude from the moment my husband and I entered the unit.

The treatment was poor at best. I asked for a blanket repeatedly and finally was given a thin sheet which did nothing to mitigate the bitter cold of the facility. When she checked me vaginally, she only swabbed me for leakage, neglecting to check my cervix for dilation or effacement. This necessitated a second very uncomfortable exam as my contractions continued to cause me discomfort.

After being ignored for quite some time she told me an ultrasound was planned. I asked her why this was being done because I did not understand why if I had had an ultrasound done less than three days ago and everything look good with the amniotic fluid. I also could not understand why this was being done when my swab came back negative for amniotic fluid as well. She could only respond with that it was ordered and it needed to be done. I let the nurse know that I didn t understand this and asked why my active contractions where being ignored. Again, I got a response like I was keeping her from something.

This only served to aggravate me further as the contractions were being ignored. I asked this very unsympathetic nurse to please ask the doctor if this ultrasound was needed and as fast as you please, she tossed an AMA form on my bed practically daring me to object to treatment. I acquiescenced to the ultrasound which showed nothing out of the ordinary.

At this time, my husband and I began to seek her supervisor as our concerns began to run to the death of our child in this circumstance. My complaints were again ignored. I left the facility in pain and with the stigma that I might only be seeking pain medication. After speaking with a supervisor and receiving lots of reasons why I shouldn t be upset there was no resolution to the issue that my OB/GYN felt was important enough for me to be seen for in the first place.

Banners mission of breath surely does not apply here. I m still trying to catch my breath from the panic of the lack of regard for human life shown to Amelya and I. Even if the nurse did not care for me, what did an innocent, unborn child do to deserve her negligence??

My child had cellulitis and was admitted, great experience we had. Nurses were all very professional and so nice. They were always attentive and so caring. My son said that this was the best hospital ever! I am very appreciative and will surely return in case of an emergency since I know we will be properly taken care of.

When I was recently there for a suicide attempt, everyone was excellent! They took very good care of me. The food was actually pretty awesome and was sometimes pretty cold but better than most hospital food has been they were very good to me from the beginning to the end and I appreciate everything they did for me. It wasn't for someone finding me when they did, which I believe was staff member, I wouldn't be alive today. a no shout out and thank you to all the wonderful people we save my life.

Went into the ER. When I walked in, the waiting room was full. I waited for 3 1/2 hours just to be taken to a room. The doctor and RN were extremely nice. They ordered an ultrasound, which took an hour for them to come and get me. Once the ultrasound was complete, it took another 2 hours for the doctor to come give me my results, which is a really long time if you ask me. I wasn't given any solid answers as to what was going on with me and my baby, and was told to follow up with my OB. So. overall, I think this was a waste of my time...and once that bill comes, a waste of my hard earned money.

I wanted to share my experience at Banner Thunderbird. I was there for 19 days due to Covid 19 complications and everyone was great. The nurses, doctors and aides gave me the best treatment they could. And I just wanted to thank them for all there hard work.

This hospital is So disrespectful even with all the details of what happened to me with my OWN DOG biting me. First time. I'm here to get HELP .. A Male nurse/doctor wants to talk with others OUTLOUD saying the dog was PROVOKED... BULL EFFEN SHHH.. F THIS HOSPITAL. I'm extremely sure PROVOKED is a correct turn to use, Especially when it wasn't a stray dog. Accidents happen all the time, but what you say and how you say things in your Profession SIR! needs to change and be cleared up IMMEDIATELY. As far as another doctor (Also Male) trying to defend him- saying that's the word they use in a "MEDICAL TERM" .. umm.. excuse me. PROVOKED is NOT a medical term at all. The ER males need more training and help with thier vocabulary usage. RUDE!!!!

Morning ofJuly 8th call 911 when my mom was expirenceing stroke like symptoms. She was transported to your hospital since it was the closest. Two hours later called to see how she was doing and much to my dismay I was told she was discharged, could not tell me how an86 year old woman with no ID, no purse, and noc clothes could be discharged and or if she had transportation. Don't waste your time say it was a mistake or sending me an email I'll be in tomorrow

Unfortunately I have to give this place a 1 Star as I was just hung up on by a nurse Laurie on the 3rd floor. I was simply asking why my mother had to stay another day in here. She responded " because of her current medical condition " and I asked her what specifically that was and she hung up because apparently she didnt know. She mumbled something talking about only talking to my moms POA on this and hung up abruptly. She had already described everything to me the problem was , nothing sounded critical enough for my Mom to stay another night. My brother is the POA and he called back to ask the same question and Laurie said I was demanding my Mom be let out. My husband was surprised she was saying all this as he was sitting right beside me when I was talking to her. I did not say that. She was very rude to my kind brother too saying " let me finish" in a rough tone several times. I talked with her Supervisor Paul but not sure what he will do about her if anything. My husband said there is no reason to even try to argue with a person like her. Just write a review so everyone is aware of her behavior . I am sure she treats others like this. I just hope she isnt treating my Mother badly right now. I hope someone is helped by this review if they feel as badly as I did when she hung up on me. Amazes me that the hospital tolerates this kind of behavior. To me, customer service should be priority. All other nurses were kind so maybe this review will help weed out the bad ones.

I had my son here in 2014. Staff was great. Very attentive and professional.

I was recently seen at the er for dehydration during pregnancy (7 weeks). The er staff was fast and did tests for infections and an ultrasound. I was given fluids, medication for a bladder infection, and told to follow up with my OB.

Awesome nurses. I will be having my next baby here.

My friends father had to be rushed to the hospital after passing out and hitting his head yesterday. My friend as well as his mother called the hospital SEVERAL times to ask about that state of his father and every time they were told we don t know, we will call you back. SEVEN hours passed and not ONCE were they called. They had to sit and wonder if he was even ALIVE. We understand with COVID there is no visitors allowed BUT the least hospital staff can do is notify family on the status of loved ones. It is absolutely horrible what they put this family thru. The anxiety of not know what is happening is a terrible feeling. I do not recommend any one go to this hospital. What a way to treat family of our first responders...what a shame.

My daughter was admitted in the e.r. for her personal reasons. They got her in the pediatric er right away and attended to her needs. The entire staff there was so kind and caring. The behavioral health unit was also so wonderful to both of us and truly cared. In rough times and confusing they made the transitions easy and really talked us thru the steps. So 5 stars to the e.r. unit. Pediatric and the entire staff in copper. Thank you..love a caring mom..

These guys always took care of me. They respected me that I was a veteran for one. But they knew when I was not kidding with the pain I had when I went there. I hate the ER. But they made my visit easy. It does depend on the staff the night anyone goes in to get emergency care. But there are alot of drug seekers that go to the ER. I had another fall due to my knee replacment. I was in so much pain... I wish I never got the full knee replacement. But you guys made it manageable for me. I Appreciate the doctors here, but the nurses are who really run the show. Thanks guys. And girls. I Appreciate the care you give me every time I go. .

The service here was bad! I took my grandma there and with the COVID-19 I understand that there is no visitors. I ve been waiting outside the emergency place with my mom wondering if she ll be discharge soon or stay. We call multiple times and all they said they will call back because they have no information yet. We ve been waiting over 5 hours and no call from them. I left 2 different phone numbers and our name. We didn t know what to do and just waited until she got discharged 6 hours later. I don t recommend anyone coming here.

Dr's were great! Nurse Judy and her aid Monica on the third floor were absolutely wonderful. Can't say that about the aids at the nurses station! They were rude and unprofessional. Lack of communication skills and team effort! Banner should be more selective when hiring, and offer continued training throughout their employment!

This hospital visit in the ER. was really caring and I didn't have to wait to long. Normal waiting only one hour to be seen and almost another hour for results. So I need to see my PCP doctor so I can go see my knee doctor and The P.A. doctor assistant had taken good care of me. I have to get an knee replacement.

My daughter came to the ER and the attending physician was belittling to her.. A terribly condescending attitude towards her, a young woman who through much research/holistic medical advice and effort was fighting cancer without conventional methods. He heard of her efforts, raised an eyebrow and made her feel as if she was a simpleton. When bringing her the bad news of her test results, it was without any compassion or gentleness. The rest of our experience as a family didn't get any better. Actually worse.
I will say some of the other staff were excellent.. particularly Dr. Kan (sp) in the ICU. Overall, the experience was not good and I am very suspicious of motives behind some procedures that were done in light of my daughter's prognosis. A very sad time.

I am here in 3B oncology / medical surgery unit and staff has been fabulous!!!! They are curious, informative and motivating but most of all caring about my needs. I am very happy with this hospital. Now I haven't dealt with the billing / finance department yet but I'm sure they will be just as kind
Great job Banner Thunderbird you hire good people !!!!!

I went into the ER last week for lower right abdom...

I went into the ER last week for lower right abdominal pain. About 5 hours and a $1300 copay later they tell me they don't know why I'm in pain, they prescribed me some pain meds and told me to follow up with my primary care Dr. They told me they did find some cysts on my cervix and a fibroid on my uterus, so I ask if this could be causing my pain... I was told no. I seen my primary care Dr yesterday and she told me that the cysts are what's causing my pain and she doesn't understand why I was told different. She also tells me I have a small hernia according to the paperwork I gave her from the ER. NO ONE mentioned this to me there that I have a new hernia, even though they were made aware that I had a hernia repair a few years back. All the info from my ER visit was sent to my old Dr, an obgyn I don't go to anymore and haven't seen since I had my last kid 4 years ago, this was told to them when they asked for my pcp info. I was billed for the ultrasounds, CT scan and everything else they supposedly did but I received no answers there. I will never go back to this ER. My nurse Melissa was awesome, the 1 star I gave is for her I guess, not this place. I'd give 0 stars if that were an option.

UPDATE AFTER RESPONSE FROM OWNER:

Dear Owner,
I am more than happy to tell you guys how to run your ER for a small fee of $1300. Now how would you like to take care of that?

The nurses during my wife s pregnancy were very understanding and caring for my wife. We didn t even mind that they were training someone who was observing. Something we normally wouldn t have wanted, we were okay with here.

This hospital has to be the worst EVER. I am sitti...

This hospital has to be the worst EVER. I am sitting in an ER room that has 2 chairs and a recliner. I don't even get to see a Doctor I've been given a PA. She proceeds to tell me I have the flu but it will have to pass. She offered me Motrin. I am in serious pain all through my body and I have a fever and you want to give me Motrin!!! Which BTW I took this morning before I came in so obviously it isn't working. I was sent for a chest xray just to cover her own @$$. They want a urine sample, hello I told you I'm dehydrated and haven't been able to eat at all for 2 days or drink much. So how do you expect a urine sample. When I got here I sat in this crap room for 20 mins while the nurses and PA were socializing. I CAUGHT THIS ON VIDEO!! I am in my room crying from pain and left to sit in this recliner that looks dirty. No bed to lie down since I'm ill, no IV to help with the migraine and dehydration, no nausea or pain medication. Its like they don't even give a s@$t that I'm sick. I had to ask for a ride down to this hospital since I live 30 mins away for what to be treated like a POS. I don't usually complain or cry but I am in pain and their still socializing. I paid for a ride here and will again when I go home and a babysitter for my 6 sons. This hospital is a sham and should be ashamed of themselves for the IDGAF attitude and the lack of patient care. I will NEVER come here again. I will also tell EVERYONE I ever meet or know to NEVER come here. I will also post to EVERY social media how horrible this place is. Sadly they are treating the woman next door to me the same horrible way. Even after her girlfriend talked to the PA and explained how bad her girlfriend was hurting. PA tells her "that's all that we can do for her".

I drove myself into the ER with abdominal pain goi...

I drove myself into the ER with abdominal pain going on 5 hours. I walked in anf a security guard was sitting behind the counter reading a magazine. He said, "What do you want?" I was thrown off. I said I need medical help. He told me to stand on the red dot and wait my turn. This is the ER, right? Well I stood therr holding my gut, tears streamung down my face and waited for the one and only intake person to be done with the person in front of me. I didnt have to waiti ling for triage anf once they saw that my heart rate was quite elevated I was briught back within 5 minutes. The ER staff was awesome and very attentive. Now, a week and a half later I am sitting in a surgens exam room over 1 and half hours because they are still waiting for my records. I heard the receptiokist call them to get the status when I girst arrived. I called them myself 2 times. First I left a message that was never returned and then I just kept pushing zero until someone finally answered. The reason she said that the records request wasn't done was because there wasnt a date on it. Seriously? So now after two hours my records are finally received but I still have to wait because I am now on other patients time. I try to avoid Banner Thunderbird but when its an emergency I have no choice but to go to the closest ER. I say get rid of the nasty security guard, provide a different system to people in pain rather than make them stand and wait when in obvious pain. And if theres a problem with a records request how about calling the requesting office to clairify rather than just ignore it? Still waiting here. 2 hours and 5 minutes.

If I could rate this hospital zero stars I would! I had my daughter here. Let me tell you labor and delivery department sucks! Their nurses are so rude! As soon as I got there all the nurses just had an attitude. Didn't look happy to be there at all! When I arrived I was about 1cm dialated they sent me home in pain until I was I was dialated further! I went home was in pain all night bc of contractions. Went back in the next morning they finally admitted me as I was 3cm. The whole experience was horrible there was 2 nurses in particular who were very rude. They were treating me like I was unfit to be a parent bc I am young. No one should have to be treated that way! The way they were treating me was uncalled for all I was trying to do was give birth; instead I got harassed! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AT ALL, PLEASE SAVE YOUR SELVES THE STRESS OF BEING TREATED POORLY!

We love this er. It is a long wait but you will be cared for by the best doctors and greatest staff! All my babies were born here and now my family is continuing the tradition. We love Thunderbird for their great staff and we love the hospital in general. I would never trust my family's life in any other hospitals hands. Banner is known for amazing growth doctors that care.

Our Banner Thunderbird Medical Center ER experienc...

Our Banner Thunderbird Medical Center ER experience was an absolutely horrible and extremely upsetting one. I doubt there is anyone in this world who would be happy with having their attention taken away from their very sick child in order for the medical establishment to get payment even though valid health insurance details had already been taken. We would advise others to look at an alternative ER.
People we have told about our experience have been shocked and disgusted at what happened while we were in the ER room with our seriously ill daughter. On March 15th, our daughter was put on the bed in the ER room and nurses were setting up an IV. I was holding my daughter's hand to help keep her from being distressed and reassure her that she would be okay, when what I presume was a hospital administrator wheeled in a computer and said we had a $3,000 deductible and asked us for payment. I was shocked and asked "what now?" to which she nodded her reply. OUR DAUGHTER'S CONDITION HAD NOT BEEN STABILIZED AT THAT TIME. She did not offer to deal with this at a more appropriate time. She did not move and even the nurses and doctor were having to step around her. This person's highly inappropriate action drew our attention from our very poorly daughter who needed us. My husband and I were so shocked and embarrassed. We felt as though we had been put on the spot and with the simple desire to get the person out of the ER room as quickly as possible we offered an amount to be paid then and there, including me having to sign more things electronically. I know that the medical staff within that ER room were also very uncomfortable with the situation, keeping their eyes lowered to the floor to avoid eye contact with myself or my husband and not one of them spoke up on our behalf. Our daughter had an urgent and very serious condition which needed further treatment in the Pediatric ICU.

The nurses had to put a bed pan under my mother in law and they left the piss in the tub and in the sink. Thy didn't pour it out or anything, I asked them to take it out of the room and they just looked at me crazy. They couldn't find a vein and didn't have food for the patient's.

Going to the ER was a TERRIBLE experience, I wish I never went in the first place. I was hardy able to drive myself there because I was in such bad pain and by the time I got there I was already crying because I couldn't take how much I was hurting, I have appendicitis and they just took it as a simple abdominal pain, I was there for over 45 minutes and they still had me in the waiting room and taking in people who got there after me which I understand that every patient is a different situation but what is the point of going to an Emergency Room if they don't treat it as an emergency? I ended up taking myself to Dignity Health and got taken care of as soon as I got there, never returning to Banner Thunderbird again.

Out of any hospital, in any state that I have worked at, or been a patient at, this is by far THE WORST. After going to urgent care, I was sent here to have an extremely time sensitive ultrasound. 3 hours later and I'm still waiting in a lot of pain. Unfortunately, there are people in unbelievable amount of pain, still waiting to be seen ahead of me. Staff has ignored them, including the poor man who has been crying from abdominal pain and vomiting non stop since my arrival. The lack of control and chaotic atmosphere doesn't help. Disappointed and still hurting, I've contacted my lawyer after reading other reviews of poor care and outrageous payments. Hope the nightmare ends soon...

This was life changing for the better. For my better self. Most of all the window tech support was and is the best soupport most of all. Eventhough the nurses would not believe me surprisingly this guy did. The woment there looked at me like i was overreacting and causing drama going to attack everyone. But did not relize the looks i was getting from my ow. Family that put me there. All because i found out what they were hiding. Other than the meds being too strong and being asleep for days and drowsy. Like i was drunk. Or worse like i was on some street drug to make .me passout and no way to lower the dose. It still scares me because i go days asleep not knowing what year it is. Or days has passed actually being awake happy and enjoing life.

If I could give them no stars I would. My doctor sent me over for tests, and the er staff treated me like I didn't need to be there. The doctors are rude and your lucky if you get to see them. Usually its just a pa. Nurses are never around. Never felt so unwelcome in my life.

UPDATE: a lovely woman from banner s scheduling department reached out to me today to personally apologize for the inconvenience. At the end of the day the situation that occurred could happen to anyone and i appreciate her searching through the data base to hunt down my contact information. She also said she would pass along my contact information to the lactation specialist so that i could receive the help i was needing. I feel that she went above what she needed to to rectify the situation and am very appreciative.

I gave this 2 stars instead of 1 because my delivery experience was good. I liked my delivery and care nurses, my delivery doctor and my anesthesiologist. However, your delivery waiting room and elevators are disgusting! Looked like they hadn t been cleaned in ages.

Urgent Care sent my boyfriend here after having EK...

Urgent Care sent my boyfriend here after having EKG results that were abnormal. We arrived and they got his insurance information, then took us back and had another EKG done, as well as an x-ray. Then they rolled him into the hallway and did some blood work, which we were told would be ready "in 30 minutes". Well we waited almost 2 hours before anyone finally came with any sort of results. They said they were going to do one more thing of blood work because "sometimes it can change" well that's another 2 1/2 hours of waiting. In the hallway. So a nurse came back and said that the Dr had prescribed him some kind of antiinflammatory(I forget the name) that was used for gout. She was confused as to why the dr prescribed this, since it was for his heart/chest pain, so she went back to "ask him and make sure" soooo another 45 minutes of waiting. She comes back and is like "yeah that's what he said" so whatever. So a few minutes later she's discharging him, and he mentions the prescription. She's like "oh yeah I forgot let me go grab that, don't leave yet" like are you kidding?? Comes back 5 minutes later with the prescription, and we're outta there asap. Soooo jump to yesterday we get a bill in the mail for about $900. $47 each for 2 ekgs and $800 FOR THE VISIT ITSELF. At the bottom of the bill there was a letter that said "insurance denied your claim" so we got ahold of his insurance, and... get this... THEY NEVER EVEN CONTACTED THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE. Slacking. So now we're trying to figure that all out, but Thunderbird has been no help in that either. WORST HOSPITAL I HAVE EVER BEEN TO. Nurses were clueless and rude, sitting there making fun of some of the patients right in front of their open doors. Sat in a hallway for 7 hours for nothing. Would never come back and definitely wouldn't recommend even to my worst enemy. And don't even bother replying to my review with that same copy and paste bull that you reply to every negative review with. You guys don't actually care, and I'm never coming back. Simple as that.

What a horrible place . So concerned about the care my sister received there. From the minute she arrived to ER to the moment she was discharged . She us lucky she made it out alive . I am a RN practicing on a step down unit and I am appalled at the care she received at this place .

Me and my wife came to Banner Thunderbird because it was the closest hospital with a designated OB triage. We sat for an hour and a half waiting to be seen. I would recommend to everyone to just make the drive to a different hospital.

I took my husband to the ER Tuesday night for back pain around 7pm. When we arrived there was about 10 patients in the waiting room (including children). He was registered by a registration rep who told him needed to sit down in order to be registered. He tried explaining the severity of his back pain but she insisted he needed to sit so he did to get through the process and to see the physician. 35 minutes later he was assessed by the triage nurse. The first question the nurse asked was how long have you had this back pain. Which my husband replied for the past 3-4 days which is not resolving but getting worse. So the nurse states this is a chronic condition for you then. I speak up to tell her NO this is not a chronic condition. He had a minor discectomy over 15 years ago but todays visit is not something that has lingered for the past 15 years (not chronic). My husband goes on to explain all of the other issues going on (severe pain, leg weakness, numbness, tingling and few other things) and his inability to sit and needing to lay down. Her reply is we will get to you as soon as we can, for now go have a seat in the waiting room. He ask is there a cot or something he can lay on until I can see the dr. She replies no and tries to placate him by telling him about her daughter having back pain and how she was able to suffer through the pain. 3 hours later we are still in the waiting the room. My husband is visible shaking in pain unable to sit for long unable to stand for long. I went up to the desk three times to ask how much longer. The security officer was rude, the third nurse who was sitting at the side table next to the security officer was MIA for 50 minutes, the nurse tech, Vincent, was not helpful. So I posed the questions: Can you tell me what time we checked in? 7pm and it is now 10pm and we are still in the waiting room. Can you explain? No but your husband will be going back to see a Dr. with the next round of discharges. So I went on to say Can you tell me how long that will be, he is in extreme pain? No. Well which zone Orange, Blue, Green? Orange. Care to explain to me how a person with the type of issues my husband is having is still in the lobby after 3 hours when several patients have gone back to the zone where you treat the lowest assessed acuity of care patients? We have watched a migraine patient who has been sitting in the waiting room laughing and joking with a child go back, an ankle sprain with no visible fracture or deformity, patient not in distress, leg was being iced and elevated and several other patients go back to the orange zone. No answer. We walked out and my husband got the help he so desperately needed (i.e. surgery). Needless to say we will not be going back to this place. It is very disappointing to see the service provided at Thunderbird. As some who has worked in a hospital for 20 years the service we received was subpar.

If a nurse cannot assess a patient on the severity of the injury and/or pain why is he/she working as a triage nurse?
If a nurse cannot triage a patient quickly again why is he/she working in triage?

June 18th I was in a car accident and was transported to this hospital where I sat in the emergency room hallway in a chair for 2 hours with a severe concussion bleeding from the back of my head and airbag burns on my face and eye. The hospital staff ignored me in the hallway. Once they finally got me in to a room they examined my eye for particals found nothing and left it be. The doctor used absolutely no pain relief or even numbed my head when cleaning the 4 inch gash on my head they did not shave or prep the wound for the staples. my hair is now stuck inside the scar. They never did a CT scan on me no tests nothing and just simply discharged me. This hospital was careless enough to discharge someone with blunt trama to the head. I will never ever step foot in to this hospital again!!!

Do not give birth here. They are committing medical kidnapping. Parents have been accused of being under the influence of illegal substances without providing documentation to substantiate the claims. Mother and father were denied access to their child after accusing the mother of having marijuana present in her blood test. Hospital has refused to provide medical documentation to support their test results. Mother has vehemently denied ever using marijuana.

I was scheduled for an induction today, July 10, 2020. I was told yesterday I would receive a call anytime between 1 am and 8 pm to come in. After being unable to get through to a live person for over an hour to get an update on timing, I finally got through to someone who told me they are several days behind on inductions and that I should not expect to be induced as scheduled. It would have been nice to know this when they confirmed my induction yesterday. I asked if they even planned to call me as they said they would and I was told they don t always have time to call. So they basically blow off medically necessary scheduled inductions without even the courtesy of letting you know. Long story short - if you need a medically necessary induction and aren t okay with with them pushing you out several days because of risks to you and your baby, don t go to Banner Thunderbird as they will likely not be able to accommodate you.

A little dirty. We were taken to a room that was a little dirty. I wish I would ve taken a picture of the items that were left in that room. It looked like a sealed bottle to pee in with a used glove underneath it. No hand sanitizer around the area. I m hoping they were following HIPAA Regulations. A Closed curtain doesn t always hide a patients privacy. They need to upgrade that. We were able to see a doctor but the rest of the process was way too slow. We do not know what was the hold up. But we all know it can take FOREVER to get results. I respect the fact that everyone is out to hustle during this rough time. But there was just a few things out of place at this time of visit. We weren t able to get ultrasound done. It just took forever. 2 1/2 hours in. Maybe better off at Urgent care facility. So slow service, bad hygiene, practice social distancing, need to provide safe, clean and friendly environment I do not expect a sorry from this bad experience I had , I just do not want anybody to go through this situation, which I doubt it. This is typical.

I waited a few days before writing the review so I could calm down. My mother in law was admitted due to having a third stroke and she sufferes from dementia. It is very important for us to be able to communicate with her physician and care team since she is not able to understand or relay information. Unfortunately, unless you spend 24 hours a day in the hospital with her you aren t going to get the information you need. My husband and I both work full time, so while trying to work, have a few hours of sleep and be at the hospital with her we were able to speak to a doctor....1 time in 5 days. After requesting numerous times for a doctor to call us and being assured and reassured, no doctor ever called. We had questions, questions that were very important to us. We were told that we needed to think about hospice for her and conveniently, Banner s Hospice services came to speak with us. But we had questions for the doctor before making such an important decision. I know doctors are extremely busy, but this wasn t an everyday situation for us. It was the end of our loved one s life...speaking to a doctor doesn t seem like it should be so hard to do. After waiting for a day and a half again and no communication I called and complained to the compliment/complaint number and then finally we were able to talk to a doctor who was very kind and throughly explained the situation. But it shouldn t have come to that. Now I can say Banner s Hospice representative was more than accommodating and helpful but then again he wanted us to sign a contract for services. Now why would we elect to use Banner s services again when we ve had such a bad experience already? Now to top of our frustration, there was a delay in discharging my mother in law and we were told it would occur the next day, we were assured and reassured once again that we would be called and informed of the time of discharge so we could arrange to be with her during Transport back to her nursing facility....well once again that didn t happen and my mother in law was sent back, alone and confused to her nursing facility. Unacceptable. I hope your loved ones never experience what we did, you can and should do better.

While in ICU I was physically assaulted by the nurse who put in a Foley catheter 10 times to big for me. I am still black and blue and hurts to pee. She actually sat on top of me and forcefully pushed the Foley catheter into me at 2:30am in morning. I sat sat there screaming in pain and said to her it was to big but she disregarded my request to put in a smaller one. Upon a urinalysis after the hospital stay , I had blood and in my urine and now I have to see another doctor for this condition.
The day nurse Eric gave me wrong medication for my migraine giving me Adderall instead of Fioricet. Adderall is a stimulant and all day long they were trying to get my blood pressure down. Injecting me hour after hour trying to get my blood pressure down. He gave me Adderall at 1:30 PM Wednesday afternoon . At 5:00pm my IV alarms went off and I let ring for 63 minuets which was pure torture before I called the nurse call button, and nurse Judy came in to shut them off. Eric never returned to attend me for the rest of his shift this day. I call this abandoning his job . ICU nurses have two patients to look after for their 12 hour shift. Eric left me unattended from 5:00 pm - 7:00pm .
On Friday November 3rd at 6:30am the night nurse tried to start six IV bags on me at the same time. The IV unit would not work. I had up to 20 people in my room coming back-and-forth in and out trying to get the IV unit to work not one of them had training on how to get six bags started on the IV unit at the same time. The IV unit was started at 10:30 that morning.
On Friday November 3rd at 3:30pm I was on the operating table getting a catheter to my heart when Dr. Todd M James DO suddenly stopped the procedure pulled out and said to me he needs more consultation and will do it. He was only to fix my coronary artery which is 55% blocked. I also have one blocked stent, and two other blocked off arteries as well. Which he wasn t going to fix at all . When he came to my room at 5:30pm that evening I asked if I could have the Foley removed he said yes and left . He never wrote the order to remove it. I lost all confidence in the doctor and hospital at this time for my safety and well-being. I checked myself out of the at 8.30pm Friday evening and went home,
I would never return this hospital again in future

The hospital staff is a joke. They ignore the patient. And if you need a dr note you can't get one. Even if it is for work, school, or one of their services. Getting anything from them is like pulling teeth. One of the nurses was disrespectful. I was put on medication and the nurse said that they put me on medication(that i didnt ask for) just to shut me up? Seriously??? I was ready to go home last night. But they decided to admit me. It was the dr's choice not mine to put me on the medication.

The prices here will make you a slave. The fact that they do tests and never tell what it going to cost or if you ask they have no idea should be a crime. Let me die before I become a slave to a bill I can never repay.

The nursing staff could use bedside manners, seemed to be bothered by the one or two request I made, took over an hour for the nurses to respond, after repeated requests, just seems like they don't care, and when your already feeling bad this just makes it worse, I will never stay at this hospital ever again

I recently gave birth to my first child and I abso...

I recently gave birth to my first child and I absolutely loved Banner Thunderbird. The nurses in L&D were amazing and so understanding!

I ended up having a C-Section and luckily my O.B. was on call and was already there in the hospital. The surgeon that was in the operating room was extremly nice and tried to keep me distracted while they were cuting me open.

I had to see the anesthesiologist a few times from problems with my epidural and she was the sweetest person ever! The nurses were right there by my side holding my hand while I was getting my epidural.

The nurse in Post-partum was so sweet and was helping me with breast feeding and they were constantly checking up on me. They were understanding when I had quite a few guest after giving birth. The food was amazing and never took longer then 30 mins to come.

The only downside of my visit was we had asked to be out by a certain time because my boyfriend was trying to get to work that day, as it was his first day back. And it took very long for us to get discharged. However, they said that they had delivered over 25 babies that night and we were more understanding as to why it was taking so long.

Over all, wonderful stay and I don't think that I could give birth anywhere else since then.

I am 6 weeks pregnant and having frequent headache...

I am 6 weeks pregnant and having frequent headaches and right lower quadrant pain. I check in on Nov 30th @ 5 am for the symptoms listed above. The representative who checked me in was really nice and stated she had had a rough night since their system had been down all night. I was triaged right away by a really nice male nurse. I was told to hang tight and someone would call me back shortly. I sat in the waiting room for quite a while. I noticed patients weren t really getting called back, finally after waiting 3 hours I get called back.

I was placed in room 58 in the orange emergency section. The nurse asked me to provide a urine sample in case they needed to send it out to the lab. She then withdrew blood incase they needed that as well. I changed into their gown and waited for the provider. The provider took over an hour to come talk to me. Once she came in she talked to me and evaluated me. She stated she would order an ultrasound and an MRI to make sure I didn t have appendicitis but she wanted to talk to the supervising doctor before ordering anything.

I waited another hour or so for the ultrasound. My ultrasound took roughly around an hour since the system was down. I was placed back in the room afterwards for quite sometime. In the meantime I was never checked on.
After waiting for a few hours to get my ultrasound results a different nurse walks in the room (did not introduce herself) to ask if I was ready for my CT? Yet I was unaware a CT was ordered since it wasn t brought to my attention. I told her I refused since I was pregnant. She had no idea what I was talking about. She stated she would check with the provider. She came back an hour later to ask what I was allergic to. I mentioned to her that I had been there since 5 and I was hungry. She stated she would check on that for me as well. She then comes back for a third time asking if I was ready for my benadryl. Yet again I was unaware I was taking it nor did she know why when I asked what it was for.

The room I was placed in was right by the nurse station. I could hear everything they discussed. A nurse mentions the blood work sent to the lab had been misplaced. A few minutes after the same nurse stated that she would most likely have to redraw blood work from the 5am patients since it was sitting out for more than 4 hours. Yet mine was one of the ones collected very early.

After waiting almost 9 hours and listening to all the issues they were having I decided it was time to go. I asked to leave and the nurse brought me a withdraw form and told me to sign it. I asked if I could add a comment as to why I wanted to leave. She took the form from me and stated she had to write the comment for me.

At the end of the day, not only did I waste time but I left without results and a worse headache. I am due in July 2019 and know for sure I will not be delivering at Banner Thunderbird.

Absolutely amazing service for my munchkin this morning. He had to have an EEG and I cannot say enough good things about your staff from start to finish... EVERYONE. The security guard at the front, the nurses at the table, the gentlemen who gave him a coloring book at registration and then the staff in the EEG office. To the tech who did the procedure, I can never thank you for the patience you had with us as I put him to sleep and for how sweet you were with him.

Thank you so much for making this experience a whole lot easier for a mom worried about her baby boy.

ER REVIEW- my dad just got here via ambulance. Front desk enterance, workers on there phone texting. Finally able to be allowed backed into rooms to be with my day. Counted 5 empty rooms need cleaning. Saw staff sitting around just talking and on their phone surfing the internet, as soon as they realized I was behind them watching they put their phones down. Lol terrible! The ER is full of people who need help and the staff is busy on their personal phones. It just happened that my dad got into a room quickly because he came via ambulance. Also my dad received care immediately because one of the staff saw me behind one of the workers watching them on their phone. She was looking at Christmas stuff. Lol
However the Drs and nurses helping my dad are great.

I was admitted to the hospital on April, 17th, 201...

I was admitted to the hospital on April, 17th, 2017 due to excessive bleeding while 20 weeks and 6 days pregnant. The medical staff was very clear with me that I would most likely go into labor very soon and that my baby would be born alive, but that they could not keep him alive due to how small he was. They were very sweet and caring and told me that their goal was to keep me pregnant for as long as possible, without also putting my life at risk. I received ultrasounds and they soon figured out that I was 4cm dilated. They admitted me for an overnight stay because they were convinced that I would go into labor very soon. I asked about insurance stuff and they told me not to put him on our insurance because he would not survive if he is born soon. They transferred me to a night-room. I was having bad contractions that were getting closer together. Unfortunately for the staff, my family and in-laws were creating a scene in the waiting room (without my knowledge) because they felt as though the medical staff was not doing everything that they could. The doctor taking care of me came into my room unexpectedly with the manager and other staff members and seemingly very angry and agitated, told me that my family had questions about what was happening. I said "I don't know-" (I was going to say, idk who has questions, but you can tell them what is going on), but the doctor interrupted me and said "Actually, you DO know. We need your permission to tell them anything so we need you to give us the OK." I thought that was very rude since I had no idea what was going on with my family and she had cut me off, but I later learned that about my family creating a scene and that the doctor's patient in the ER had just passed away, so I will let that slide. I completely understand. After this, I requested an epidural because I did not want to remember the physical pain along with the emotional. Once administered the epidural, I could not walk obviously so the staff had to keep checking on me and tending to me. They were all very sweet. On April 19th, at 1:21am I gave birth to my son Daniel. They had my husband cut the cord, wiped him down, measured and weighed him, then handed him to me. They knew that they could not save him so they did not do anything else to help him (understandably so). He passed away in my husband's arms about 2 hours after. They checked his pulse to make sure, and then continued to talk to me about mortuary information and funeral home stuff. Which was.. very hard to do. They gave me a box of the stuff that they had wrapped him in and what not and it was very sweet. So 5 stars go to them.

The triage nurses at Banner on 55th Avenue and Thunderbird are some of the most rudest people I have ever encountered. I thought to be a nurse you should be compassionate. My daughter has had nothing short of a troubled pregnancy since she has IBS She is over 38 weeks pregnant and in such pain all the time. She calls for their guidance and they are nothing but short answers, unsympathetic and RUDE. And this isn't one nurse this is basically EVER nurse we have encountered at the triage area of this hospital. I would never recommend this hospital to a mother to be because of the uncompassionate nurses here.

I was checked in and into triage in a matter of minutes. Shortly after that, I was in a room waiting to see the doctor. Efficient staff and very organized. Everyone was so nice and friendly. Will definitely come back!

ORGAN TRAFFICKERS!!!..I felt pain in my stomach and I went to the emergency room. 3 hours later, I entered for them to check me, they first questioned me about my insurance, they put a needle through my arm 4 times to take my blood, after they took me to another room and took more blood again...I was in 4 different rooms in total..I was half-asleep, no food, no drink nothing for 2 and a half days and they told me they were going to inject me with morphin (I told them that I don't speak English, and they always said bad, rude, racist, insane words in front of me)...they told me that I need to sign a paper for surgery in my stomach and they didn't give me more information, they said I can go two hours later after my surgery and I can go eat...they took me to the oparation room and I knew everything was wrong and I prayed to God and I got up and left, everybody tried to hold me back but I didn't stop walking.... I never used drugs, alcohol or smoke in my life, I'm a good mom with 3 kids, a hard worker and a good person.....never go by yourself, never leave a family member alone, they are going to operate on something that you don't need, they just want your insurance money or just your money....I went by myself because I was working and I felt pain in my stomach...I'm writing this because I'm a surviver of these organ traffickers.

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Banner Thun...

Do yourself a favor and stay away from Banner Thunderbird. Their charges for service are CRIMINAL! I spent 3 hours in the ER and only saw the ER MD a total of maybe 20 minutes the entire time I was there, and it would not have been that long if he had not repeatedly tried to get me to take a blood pregnancy test and I had to repeatedly tell him there was no way I could be pregnant and was not going to pay the price for that test. From the start, I stated that financial issues were a huge concern of any treatment I might receive. A worker came in before I was even seen by any medical provider and told me I would have to pay $460 up front. That should have been my warning right there to leave. Banner Thunderbird and the ER MD's group, North Valley Emergency Specialists, billed a total of $2300.00. All I had done was a shortened version of blood count and electrolyte panel, NOT A FULL ONE OF EITHER. I repeated again to staff that I had financial constraints and I was concerned about the cost. I was told, "Don't worry, these bedside lab tests are cheaper than if we sent them to the lab." Imagine my surprise when the lab test part of the bill was $1000. The MD's company billed $300, not bad money for less than 1/2 hour of work total on one patient. The rest of the total bill from Banner was for the privilege of sitting in the ER. To add insult to injury, upon leaving I was requested to sign a form that I refused the blood test, basically being called a liar by the MD. Thanks a lot Banner for the expensive lesson that you are not in the business of healthcare, but instead of emptying bank accounts. Never again!!

My grandson had surgery at TBird and was on the Peds unit. While there, his nurse on night shift brought someone else s baby into his room twice. We had called on the call light and needed her assistance to get him changed and ready to go to the OR. She came into the room holding a little baby. I was shocked and had I been that babies mother I would have been very upset that she was taking my child into another pts room. Shocking. The surgeon was amazing but the nurses left a lot to be desired. They never once came to the room to check on him unless they were called. We had to ask for everything. Towels clean gown water all of it. I will not go back there nor will I let my family.

These guys actually showed me there are still good and nice doctors out there. Thank you guys for taking care of me and also showing love to ur guys patience.
