I am 6 weeks pregnant and having frequent headache...

I am 6 weeks pregnant and having frequent headaches and right lower quadrant pain. I check in on Nov 30th @ 5 am for the symptoms listed above. The representative who checked me in was really nice and stated she had had a rough night since their system had been down all night. I was triaged right away by a really nice male nurse. I was told to hang tight and someone would call me back shortly. I sat in the waiting room for quite a while. I noticed patients weren t really getting called back, finally after waiting 3 hours I get called back.

I was placed in room 58 in the orange emergency section. The nurse asked me to provide a urine sample in case they needed to send it out to the lab. She then withdrew blood incase they needed that as well. I changed into their gown and waited for the provider. The provider took over an hour to come talk to me. Once she came in she talked to me and evaluated me. She stated she would order an ultrasound and an MRI to make sure I didn t have appendicitis but she wanted to talk to the supervising doctor before ordering anything.

I waited another hour or so for the ultrasound. My ultrasound took roughly around an hour since the system was down. I was placed back in the room afterwards for quite sometime. In the meantime I was never checked on.
After waiting for a few hours to get my ultrasound results a different nurse walks in the room (did not introduce herself) to ask if I was ready for my CT? Yet I was unaware a CT was ordered since it wasn t brought to my attention. I told her I refused since I was pregnant. She had no idea what I was talking about. She stated she would check with the provider. She came back an hour later to ask what I was allergic to. I mentioned to her that I had been there since 5 and I was hungry. She stated she would check on that for me as well. She then comes back for a third time asking if I was ready for my benadryl. Yet again I was unaware I was taking it nor did she know why when I asked what it was for.

The room I was placed in was right by the nurse station. I could hear everything they discussed. A nurse mentions the blood work sent to the lab had been misplaced. A few minutes after the same nurse stated that she would most likely have to redraw blood work from the 5am patients since it was sitting out for more than 4 hours. Yet mine was one of the ones collected very early.

After waiting almost 9 hours and listening to all the issues they were having I decided it was time to go. I asked to leave and the nurse brought me a withdraw form and told me to sign it. I asked if I could add a comment as to why I wanted to leave. She took the form from me and stated she had to write the comment for me.

At the end of the day, not only did I waste time but I left without results and a worse headache. I am due in July 2019 and know for sure I will not be delivering at Banner Thunderbird.
