B&H Photo Video Review

A visit to B&H is bucket list for nerds like me. It does not disappoint! So much fun to watch all the action at the flagship store. The full experience only happens when you order something and it goes thru the overhead conveyor system. It gets loaded into a tray and somehow it makes it thru the maze of belts to checkout.

It is always good to see the gear you want to buy before putting an order in, especially with cameras and lights. The hands on experience helps make for better decisions. If I needed to buy something that had a high price tag it is almost worth a trip to NYC for a visit to B&H to touch and feel it. It s almost like NAB show all year.

It had a large variety of products with amazing price. The customer service is effective and efficient. Best of all, its own credit card gives you discounts to compensate sales tax. It's my go to place for electronics now.

My laptop and phone both died within a few days of each other. I went to the B&H website and quickly found a good, reasonably-priced laptop which I ordered online. I then got a rep on the phone to help me with a new cell and again, quickly decided on a Samsung A70... which I really love! I was able to pick up at the store same day so I was back in business. The whole thing took only a few hours including walking to the store and back. Thank you B&H for making this a seamless, pleasant process!

Stop using FEDEX. Every time I pay for next day delivery, they promise me a date and time(NEXT DAY), they deliver 2 days late. I take off from work to make sure I m home to sign for the package and the delivery schedule updates as it scans and gets closer to home. Then around noon, it stops updating and all communication ends there.
I wait and wait, calling FEDEX and they assure that the delivery is on its way.
Hours later, 7PM, I call again to try to locate the package and they ow have a different answer they don t know when the package will arrive I guess I ll wait another day at home and not get paid to sit and stair into space..

Best technology store. If you go to NYC and like technology (even if you don't..) give it a visit

Most of my business is via their website and their major problem is shipping to Canada.

Good place. Nice staff. But, the price on display is exclusive of tax. Which is consistent across US and I as an outsider didn't like this convention. So, if you see something and thinking that it is a good deal, think again after increasing price by 10%. This would be routine for local people but not so for travellers.

Most amazing retail operation you will ever see. Courteous and knowledgeable staff combined with unbelievable inventory - all done with efficiency of a fine machine. Must visit, even to shop for a two dollar item, just to experience it.

I haven't been to the store, but I ordered some gear online at 5 o'clock on a Monday evening, and received my goods the next morning around 9 a.m. I also placed an order on Amazon and paid extra for overnight shipping and it didn't come for two days. Seriously impressed with the speed of service.

Trying to order less from Amazon and B&H really does the trick. NYC-local (even though pretty big) store with good prices, quick delivery and customer services.

Great place to explore and shop for photography items. Its a place of pilgrimage for photographers. You get everythinh from cameras to lights to meters to sound systems to studio setup equipments. Also the prices are competitive and the products are genuine.
Dont forget to seek guidance from the friendly staff. They will give you amazing tips. Also, they have free hour sessions for most of the products when you buy them.

When purchasing something new or used, online or in their retail location, or when selling used equipment to them, I have always received Professional Service and support. B&H is indeed the BEST Electronic's store in all of the East Coast!! So happy I live near by and can drop in when I like. B&H is always first to get the best new Chromebook's that hit the market and at a great price. Absolutely love that their extended warranties are from Square Trade!! I dropped my 2014 Chromebook last year, broke the screen and Square Trade fixed it under the warranty purchased from B&H. Saved a bundle. Shipping is awesome. A lot of items have free and free expedited shipping. Get your goods before they go on Passover Holiday!!! ;-)

Huge selection. Incredibly smooth buying experience (check out the conveyor belt system overhead!). Knowledgeable salespeople. Price matching.

I have ordered from B&H MANY times. I've bought everything from camera bodies to lens and accessories. The service has always been very helpful and quick to respond. On the rare occasion I had to return an item it was a quick and painless activity. I could not recommend them higher and will continue to use them for years to come. You should also keep in mind that while they specialize in photography equipment they also sell computers, and other technical items.

Don't be afraid of refurbished items either, I have purchased multiple refurbished camera bodies that performed perfectly and saved quite a bit in the process.

Enormous superstore is well-stocked and has a great selection of anything you need in the categories available. Knowledgeable employees.

We love this place. It's a destination for us when I take my son into the city. Everything electronic is there. My son is an avid photographer and there are tons of things to look at and thing about. I tend to have questions about audio and video equipment most of the time, I find the employees to be absolutely stellar - patient and knowledgeable and forthcoming. On occasion, you hit a clunker. If that happens, just look for another associate in the department and they'll be great.

Customer service is lacking. Repeatedly sent the orders with some or all of the items incorrect. I've asked them about trying to verify what I'm ordering before they send it, but they have no access to their warehouse whatsoever, so since their inventory system is wrong, I keep getting sent the wrong things, and have to return it and explain myself it. Extremely frustrating and time wasting experience.

I want to like BH Photo, they have a great range of products but the sheer incompetence of their shipping operations through Fedex just boggles my mind. Amazon is just so much better with better shipping and delivery options. I just returned two orders because of hassles of actually getting Fedex to deliver stuff. Last orders BHPhoto will ever see from me.

Bought a memory stick, never arrived. Was asked to wait a month before requesting a refund. After each email requesting a refund I get an automated response asking to wait for the end of some jewish holiday and then re-submit. This latest holiday lasts TEN DAYS! Unacceptable!

They are beter than Amazon but Fotocare is better then them.

I order all of my camera gear from B&H Photo, so being in NY I had to go see the store. It was awesome to see all the products in this huge well kept clean store. The staff are all friendly, knowledgeable, and ready to help.

zip, tried to order $450.00 goggles was, bounced around 4 times. Nobody wants to help Bought at Amazon, no problem B*H was good at one time;.

Used to be an online purchaser.. design, photo and video equipment in the thousands over several years. Recently their prices have gotten a bit higher, and now they are charging out of state sales tax.. when their competition doesn't.
Wrote a polite letter.. explaining why the most recent $6000 purchase had to go to their competition due to the higher price and sales tax... only to get a lecturing, sarcastic response from their direct of communications.

He suggests that other companies are unethical.. that I am unethical and that I as a customer am "flouting my states laws" by choosing to do business with companies that do not follow their policy. That I should pay several hundreds more to them or I am a tax criminal in my state. He assumes he knows how I file my taxes.

Why buy from them at that point? go down the street to your local brick and mortar and buy from them.

If this is their director of communications.. and this is how he communicates... whew... I am happy to shop elsewhere.

Most high end electronics mega store in the universe.

Unfortunately I didn t read all of the reviews before purchasing a computer through BH. I ordered a computer December 1st for Christmas. It says special order 7-14 business days availability. Upon calling today I find out that I most likely will not receive this by Christmas. Had I known that I would have ordered elsewhere. Which I will have to do anyways at a higher price. I mentioned faster shipping so they can get it to me by Christmas. Nope. I would have to pay 50$ to expedite it. On top of all of this customer service was rude. Unbelievable. Judging by your reviews you might want to try a little harder to make your customers happy. It should never take 25 days for you to order a computer through another company and get it to me.

I'm a photographer so I love this place, I go there every time I wanna buy my equipment. They have huge variety of cameras, drones, phones, laptops, computers, television and gaming consoles, huge variety of electronic sports gear and stuff. Good thing would be knowledgeable staff, they know their products and they help customers in every regards. The place is really clean and professional and prices aren't that bad at all and you can double check that and compare it with Amazon too, plus if you're a regular customer you can try to bargain the price a little and they try their best. Their return policy is also really easy and supportive. I'm a satisfied customer.

A landmark electronics store in NYC. Has just about everything you can imagine in store. Ships incredibly fast locally, usually next day for free.

The absolute geek paradise. Everything you can possibly think of electronics gadgets, audio, photo and video gear in an immense space, full of a well trained and polite staff.

It's easy to spend a couple of hours walking around and looking at everything they have on display.

Slow delivery. I bought an item that should be delivered on Thu and it was in stock. Right now it is Tue of the next week. I called CS, it was just sorry. They admitted that they have a delay on their warehouse. I think I stop doing my business with them. I cannot put "sorry" on my table when I need an equipment for my business. I better buy from Amazon, never had a problem with them. This is my true review, SORRY .

Does not honor black Friday order! The deal was 750GB for 120$. A week later I was informed that they cannot "find" the product and can offer a replacement of 525GB for 100$. Not close the true deal.

On every occasion that I visit B&H it interest me a lot their products and services are first class. I always tell everyone about B&H and that they should visit even if they are not going to purchase anything.

I purchased a Moto G4 Play with a Republic Sim card that bundled 6 months free service excluding taxed. Well the six months are nearly up and the phone has become very undependable since the last system update.

I am going to have to replace the phone. I know that it was not an expensive phone, but I am very careful, and my past Moto entry level phones has lasted are least 2 years.

I tried to put this review on the phone itself, but no orders showed up under my account.

Ordered a mobile phone from B&H 22 months ago - the Nexus 5x. The phone became inoperable the other day due to a very common problem called a "bootloop." I saw that the manufacturer (LG) had extended their warranty from 12 months to 30 months for that specific problem at no charge. However, I came to find that the model phone I purchased from B&H was an international version and LG would not honor warranties.

On their sales page they do state that it is an international version (if you scroll down and read everything), but they also don't explicitly state that it isn't covered by LG's warranty. It just says there is a 12 month B&H warranty. I find that highly misleading, especially considering I wanted to purchase a common US phone in good faith assuming it was like the phone everyone else was purchasing.

So to sum up, B&H did not state that LG's warranty would be invalid on this phone, so I am now in a position to have to completely buy a new phone. B&H also was not willing to match LG's warranty extension for a problem that is extremely widespread on this Nexus 5x model. To me, that's the opposite of customer service, and they will no longer receive my business.

I placed my order yesterday for media for my DNP Rx1hs. My funds were debited out of my account and I recieved an email the next morning saying it s out of stop. Why charge me before knowing if you all had it in stock or not? Now I have to wait 3-5days for my money to get back into my account. I m so glad Adorama had it in stock! I may just ship with them from now on. Ridiculous!!

DO NOT PREORDER FROM THESE GUYS! They put up preoreders for items they don't have an order on so don't expect to get the item on release date.

Visited & purchased goods at the world's largest camera store in September 2016, coming all the way from my home country Sri Lanka just for the purchasing of these equipment which are cheaper than anywhere else in the world....Staff were friendly n helpfull...Photomaniacs would go crazy

Mixed emotions. Staff is rude as hell as they want a fluid system and made me never look to buy from here again. Although they do have great prices on items and huge selection of stuff that normally would be out of stock.

Went to the store to pick up a Logitech MX ergo mouse that was on sale at Bestbuy for $80 and they told me they price match. After waiting 15 minutes for the "price match team" to investigate, they offer me the mouse for $92. (Btw, the same mouse was on sale for $80 last week at B&H) bunch of crooks. I'll take my business elsewhere and tell my friends to do the same.

Horrible customer service NO Care for the customer side whatsoever send me used product defective they can apologize only and re-send me a shipping label I send it back still didn't heard from them anything waiting for my product over a month that's a ridiculous ,so if you can wait for your product over two months you came to the right place .

I had a very very bad experience with B&H .
I went to their store in NYC , I asked the sales guy I m looking for Mac book For Oracle Programming . He suggested Mac Book Pro so I bought it . After I bought the laptop I tried to install Oracle Database unfortunately Mac OS we can t install directly and we have to use virtual machine to connect so I went to return the laptop . They refused to take it back because I opened the laptop . After an argument so called manager took 10% after negotiating. Even Apple store takes the laptop back if we don t like . These guys are bad

This is an outstanding place to shop for any electronics. Besides the competitive pricing they offer something exceptional, knowledgeable honest staff. More than once I've been steered from what I needed to what I truly needed despite it being less costly.

I've been shopping here for at least 20 years and I'm always glad that I came.
