Picked up my first DSLR camera yesterday and I've been playing with it all night. I'm very excited to start on some projects ASAP. You won't find a better deal on photography equipment across the board. Even way better than anything you would find on Amazon or Walmart.

I ve ordered a lot of items from B&H and needed something pretty quickly so opted for a store pickup. Just stopped by the store and had a terrible experience. I was told that the order would be ready after speaking to the rep on the phone but got to the store and had to wait 15 minutes for the rep to call down for my order. Once the order was ready, they wanted to scan my drivers license to complete the pickup so I declined and a manager had to be called. She bypassed the scan but didn t see the point since I showed her my ID and cc. Upon heading out the store, I started to count my items and instead of 13, I had 12 pieces on the SSD drives in my bag so got delayed further since I had to return to the store and the rep had to call down stairs again to have them check for the missing piece. Very odd operation at this store. They found the piece but what should have been a quick and seamless experience turned out to be the opposite. I m concerned about ordering from this place again. This could have been avoided had their customer service rep responded on emails in a timely manner.

Had a flash bulb sent to me in a manila bubble wrap envelope and the box was squished but the bulb seemed to be ok. I didn't feel comfortable taking the chance so I contacted them asking for a replacement. They sent a new one right away and this time packed it in three different boxes each within each-other and filled every possibly open space with bubble wrap LOL. I was very satisfied and got a laugh at their response to my request. I always look to B+H for my photo supply needs.

Phantastic selection of everything. While not directly unfriendly, the staff seems to be under pressure to work as efficiently as possible, not having time to engage in a friendly conversation, regardless of how many thousands you spend. In the past, they have been known to disregard worker's rights. Confusing check out system that is nottotally unlike an automated slaughter house.

Having said all that, I will come back, because: selection.

B&H used to be my go-to place for AV equipment. I recently placed a $15,000 dollar order with them and have experienced nothing but back-ordered items, endless on-hold wait times and no ambition to correct problems. I have waited on hold multiple times for 15 minutes only to have them say, "Call being forwarded to voicemail. Voicemail FULL". The drone they sent me was obviously a refurbished item and was not functional out of the box. They can't give me an ETA on 10 back-ordered items. I can't even get a hold of them to cancel my order. My gosh, what happened to this once great business?

The variety was HUGE, the staff is EXTREMELY helpful, and it's VERY ORGANIZED. Sometimes I just go to look around because there's so much stuff, and the prices are actually very similar to places like Amazon and Best Buy. They also have very niche markets, like lesser known cell phones and tablets on sale. The large volume of staff also allows for help all the time. This is probably the best tech store in Manhattan.

Bad place to order online. I ordered a lens from B&H and after I placed the order, there was a list of recommended items that go with the lens I had just ordered. I was interested in a metal dust cap and I ordered it, since the lens didn`t seem to come with one. Since its international shipping (Canada), I got in contact with B&H to have the items send at the same time, to save me money on shipping and duty. I was told that it wasn t possible, because my first item was already shipped (even if less than 30 minutes have gone by between my 2 purchases at 8am). So, I received the dust cap first, because UPS screwed-up the shipping at the sorting center for my lens. I got the lens the next day and to my surprise, the dust cap didn t fit (a bit too small), even if it was advertised as being a compatible 95mm threaded dust cap. And, to my surprise again, the lens did come with a plastic dust dap, which was not mention anywhere in the B&H descriptions or photos of the lens. I contacted B&H and requested a return. They sent me an email with the packaging label. I went to the post office, stick that label very well on the package (tapped it big time), pay the postal fee and shipped it. The instruction didn`t ask to send the item with a tracking number and since I sent it via regular international mail, there wasn t one anyway. A month has gone buy and still no news from B&H. I contacted them this morning and the guy keeps on asking me for a tracking number, which I don t have and it was NOT mentioned in the return instructions that it was required. He says that he cannot do anything for me. So, it total, I`m out of $40 because of their poor service. They are clearly thieves to me and I do not recommend ordering online from them. They might be better in-store, but they suck big time with online purchases.

I purchased a Panasonic S1 camera along with a 50mm and 24-105 lens. I returned the camera because the headphone feature did not work. B&H sent me a replacement and much to me surprise it was a open box unit with no battery or power supply. Really B&H??? This is unacceptable. I am extremely disappointed in B&H business practices. I have been a loyal customer for over ten years and have purchased most of my gear from B&H. This is something I would expect for Amazon or Guitar Center, not B&H.

Always have a wide variety items.... Always check your items when they arrive even if you do not plan on installing for a few months. When I went to install my 3 42" displays found one was damaged. They will not accept a return after 30 days.

They are the only store i could find where I could test the feel of the das 4 pro keyboard, it was not on display but they got it out of the box so I could test it. I won't say it is the best store, no, but it is huge and the service was good. Mostly aimed for cameras though.

Rude customer service, going as high as the manager level. They lost a pro photography team for life because of this recent experience. They made an error on their part that cost me a lot ,a nd they won't even apologize. There's better out there.

Customer service on the phone is decent but not great. My primary purpose in the lower rating is due to the charge for returning an item that just didn't workout the way I had hoped. Basically, this is ridiculous!! I won't be shopping here anymore. At this point as long as a customer is compliant with the time frame and the items are clearly not used you should not be charging for a return. I was a loyal customer but that has now ended!!

I have been buying from B&H for more than 40 years. That says it all.
I am not often in the store. I know what I am going to buy. It's either a Leica or a Nikon.
Or a new lens. Click click. So easy.

Closer now to 50 years, same old story. Click Click, Paying is easier now with cards or electronic cards or paypal or whatever the future brings. No problem on returns no problems at all ever. Great shop.

Best prices but also rip off prices! Do some research when you go there before buying! Sometimes it's a total win but can also be the other way around. Most of the time it's like a jungle in there! so many people but the staff are very helpful! Recommend checking it out!

The Service is something outstanding, although prices may not be always the cheapest ones (you can get cheaper price online), the will of the sales people in providing all the information and the level of knowledge they usually have, it what call it up.

You have to come here if youj are not so sure of what to buy.

I wish I got the name of the person who assisted me. He was really knowledgeable, courteous and was able to get the stuff I needed ASAP. The store is huge! I was amazed by how organized it was. The customer service was superb- totally recommend!!

Huge selection of electronics. Not only cameras, but everything else you could think of. From Computers, Video Game Systems, TV's, Printers and many more. The staff is very customer service friendly and knowledgeable about the products and services they sell. The whole store has wifi accessibility, all you have to do is enter your email address. The bathroom was also clean and nice. They have a Phone Charging station on the 2nd floor along with benches for you to sit and wait right across from the water fountain.

Their speed and efficiency and choice of products are impressive. I purchased few cameras from them. Every time I got popular ones, they pushed me open boxes. The product itself has no issue but if the product had been returned, i can't be so sure whether the product had a hidden issue that had made previous buyer return the product. I returned twice. This time, i am lazy to go back again to get refund. I I will keep buying other products but would never buy popular and high-end cameras from this store.

Probably the most well-run photography, video, and technology store I have ever visited. I love the selection. I love the use of technology and the thought that goes into displaying the products. The Wi-Fi capable price tags on all products is really revolutionary. The branding team has done an amazing job and the tech support team is clearly on their game. Pleasure doing business with them.

Great place to shop when you need it right away. Some staff people are more helpful and knowledgeable than others. I have my favorite sales people and pretty much stick with them. They know what I have and can suggest what to get. The best deals are to be had in the used department. So I pretty much check B&H, their competition, Craigslist, and eBay 3 Times a day for deals. I ve been coming here since September 1999. There s been a lot of changes , but there could be more to increase productivity. I d like to see a discount program for professionals that spend a certain amount every year, like over 8 or 10 thousand dollars. Delivery to the metropolitan area under 3 hours would be nice also. Also a professional rental department with Photo, video, and audio that can deliver on set or studio with return pick up....

Excellent photography toy store. I love seeing the large variety of products and being able to test them.
However, the employees in the sports watch section weren't very informative more knowledgable. I doubt if they've even tested the products themselves.

I returned a product I never opened. They received the product on September 26th during one of their scheduled holiday breaks. They resumed business on Oct 2nd. I contacted them on Oct 3rd and they informed me my refund will be completed in 3-5 business days. I didnt have a problem with that. I wait 5 business to discover I still havent received my refund. I contacted them again. This time they tell me it will be completed by the end of the week. Im very displeased with their services. It shouldnt take a business 17 days to refund a customer money after they have received the product. As a small business owner, I believe 100% in great customer service and they are certainly falling short.

One of those places that makes New York City the city that it is. An institution that has better prices and much better service than Bestbuy. Incredible selection, no place like it. The conveyor belt system to bring your product from the storage room to the cash registers is interesting to see as well.

The best of the shopping experience was, that I walked in knowing nothing of which camera I want or need, & the Rep (Roy, at the Canon station, awesome guy) was very understanding patient & helpful, & most importantly not trying to upsell me (or at least so I felt ;) ) to the point that a short while into our conversation, I felt very confident that I know what I want & easily decided to get it, his tips & experience from a Photographer's point of view, were extremely helpful as well..
Oh, & of course my 7 years old daughter liked the automatic conveyer tracks system & item delivery, she was fascinated.
All in all, I love this place, they say "In the business of making customers, not sales" that has definitely been accomplished with me..

Terrible customer service, either always closed due to a holiday or closing early. UniFi Network switch arrived DoA call to report closed Friday and Monday "due to holiday" ok great so out 4 days there. They say they'll get back to you on Tuesday *crickets* you try calling 2 hour wait times, try chatting all departments cant accept new chats finally found a department, waited an hour for the chat to disconnect.

I am not a fan of ordering online without having a retail store such as BestBuy or Fry s Electronics, in case I have returning issue. However, I ve place my first order you on 10/25/18, based on good reputation & online review.

I ve ordered NiSi V5 Pro 100mm Filter-Kit, NiSi 10 stop ND Filer, 58mm Adaptor Ring & Wired Remote Switch Total 4 items at $317 with Free-Shipping. As a novice photographer, I ve called sales line to confirm whether I would need an adaptor ring for my 58mm filter-size lens, and I was told that I would need one. The product I ve ordered was NiSi 58mm to 100mm adaptor ring, but the correct item that I needed was 58mm to 82mm for 100mm Holder Kit. However, the only item that was shown after running the search for an adaptor ring was what I ve ordered. I ve found out I ve ordered incorrect ring as I received the package on 10/30/18.

I ve called customer service expecting at least I would receive store-credit which was mentioned by the sales rep from previous call. However, I was told that I could not return the item because it was a Special Order Item . I did not understand what that meant as a customer s perspective. I ve paid $18.99 for the adaptor ring, and I was definitely unhappy with the fact that I have to keep the item with no use. I spoke to 1 customer service rep & 2 sales reps to confirm correct item. I ve requested whether company could at least expedite the shipping, but unable to do so.

In result, I ve ending up ordering correct adaptor ring which was $10.95 with Fedex Ground shipping $9.95 which was as much as the product cost at total of $20.50 since I did not wish to wait another 7 days because I can t even use the filters system until I received the correct adaptor ring.

Overall, my very first transaction with B & H was very disappointing because I strongly felt I was misled due to incorrect Search-Result; moreover, no one attempted to resolve my issue as I was on the call for about 30 minutes while speaking to 3 different employees. Thus, I do not wish to purchase any more items in the future due to this incident.
