It's a beautiful and peaceful place. Spread over a large area, only a certain section is open to the visitors. One has to walk a bit to reach the Matri mandir viewing point but it is one lovely and calming one among the shade of trees and chirping of birds. There are 2-3 exhibitions also but they were closed when we had been there. The Auro/Serenity beach is also nearby at 6kms from Auroville.
