Awesome experience !
This is a very large place where you will find lot of foreigners too, as the construction has been going at certain places and there is a vehicle facility provided by management from reservation center to auroville visitors center which will have a queue if not we can walk as it is some 1 to 1.5 km of distance by walk but I would definitely recommended to pay a visit here.

There seem to be too many rules, regulations, timings. For instance, in order to visit inside the main Matri Mandir, one at least needs to make 2 trips. The helpline number also have specific timings.
The restaurants and cafes serve good food, a lot of which is organic and prepared from home grown ingredients. I was very surprised to find non vegetarian food being served here, but I guess my understanding of an ashram may be different. Shops and boutiques are super overpriced.
Overall it seems too hyped a place.

The best South Indian coffee at Dreamer's Cafe at Visitors Center. It was a treat to get to come here once again.

Super insightful to know what Sri Aurobindo had built here. The community is amazing

Good spot to spend some quality time. No much expectations but you will enjoy the lengthy walk to Auroville, but disppointed that you can watch it only from a distance. Locally called "Auroville globe" created much hype, but faded once we see it as it is just an underconstruction site.. seen from a distance.

A place to realize why we are born on earth and a devine place of spirituality.

Beautiful concept, peaceful surrounded by forest, you would feel nature from near, big chimes on trees create good sound when wind breezes, amazing architectural Golden globe, superb place to visit

Nice place to see near pondicherry for meditation people, others just small park in between forest. 8 km away from Jipmer hospital.

If u r happy seeing the 'Elusive' Golden Globe, this place can be totally avoided. One it is located at one end of the City, u have to walk down about 1.2 kms to see this Golden Globe and that's it!!! Ur expectations of any other Grandeur falls extremely short. The only saving grace is Souvenir n Collectible shops, which again are pricey but still worth it. Auroville bakery in midway to Auroville Visitors Center. One ends up spending 1/2 a day of one's precious vacation time, with the only consolation being Souvenirs bought and Auroville bakery. Also there is one Italian restaurant- Roma Italia, run by Chef Rakesh Singh. Do visit for one of the most gratifying Pizza experience!

If you are ready to walk for long distance to just see the golden ball( mantir) from very long distance see the attached picture

You have to book in advance to actually go in meditation center, otherwise you can just see it from a distance

It's a great place for meditation , but you won't find much of anything there.

Have a lot organic products and cost is very very high

An anesthetic and beautiful place. Full of green spaces and lots of birds. They provide requisite information about the maitri mandir to visitors. There are also cafes and shops for purchase. Visitors can relax over coffee. Coffee options are also good. Both cappuccino and latte are available besides black coffee.

Tourisms generally dont take to this place, but if you miss it you will miss a great thing in pondicherry. The place needs no description,its just mind blowing

This place is based on some ideology of human co-existance and stuff, which I didn't really understood, but the locality is good. Nice greenary and peaceful ambiance.

Peace+walk if you are lover of this please visit this place. Take water bottle and unbrella with you in summer

Very nice place. A good day to spend with nature. The matrimandir view was beautiful.

Local free bus available from parking to viewing point.

a historic place near the french colony pondicherry . regularly many tourists from different parts of the worlduse to come here to see the beauty of the dome.....this is one of the most holy place to meditate......

It's very pleasant place to visit. people around the world they come to this place you find place to buy and eat no plastics and something useful...

It's located far inside the location where in you will have to walk 1 km to reach to the dome,
Walking on a sunny day can be a big trouble

Lot of travel by foot.. Not easy. Even for shuttle buses you need to reach them inside tough. Can't go inside golden globe.. Need to book 3 4 days in advance again painful. Overall not worth it.

Get baked in the sun to see the glittering gold ball. Ask for the bus to drop you back after seeing the shiny piece. No one tells you there's a free shuttle bus to drop you back to the parking lot. No need to walk it.

Peaceful, calm and u know the best place in the world.
U will feel like ur in the lap of the nature.
