Great experience staying here- the rooms were clean and well decorated. This is a Disney resort so there are children everywhere. If you are not into that, I would suggest staying elsewhere.

A very beautiful place. The rooms were very nice. Everyone from the welcoming group, the front desk, to housekeeping were so nice. The la'UA was great. The spa and their outside garden was great. We were so pampered.

Beware the Disney Vacation Club!!! Sounds great at first, but if you don't use your timeshare every single year, it's not worth it. Maintenence fees are easily over $1000 every year. And it goes up every year.

Loved stayng with grandsons for Children's Festival. Wonderful lanai to eat on and 2 queen beds provided ample space. Great Keurig coffee
in morning complimentary. Comfy beds and absorbent clean towels.
Ulu's cafe has good option for kids; order 16" pizza for $23 and healthy
meal with ribs, mashed potatoes and veggies for $17. Kids loved slides and lazy river...so did I. Try the pineapple pina colada $25 but worth a try, yummy. Parking expensive $37 so got dropped off. Strong wifi.

First let me start off by saying that I am not particularly fond of resort vacations or Disney (don't judge me). That being said, my family has had an amazing experience at Aulani.

The area that it is located, Ko Olina, is downright beautiful. In Ko Olina, there are a few small restaurants, clothing stores and a general store. Please be aware that that everything is very expensive. I highly suggest heading down the road to the next town over and eating there or going to their grocery store to save some money.

So now on the the resort itself. When you pull up, you can choose to valet your car or park it yourself. Just have them valet your car because it costs the same either way ($37/day). It is very easy to get your car back at anytime, day or night, with our maximum wait time being only about 5 minutes. The front desk staff were super knowledgeable about not only the resort but also the surrounding areas.

When we got into our room, it was very up to date and clean. Each room has a sliding glass door with a patio and if you are on the first floor (which we were) you also have a gate that you can access that let's you get to the walking paths faster. My family of 4 stayed very comfortably, utilizing the pullout couch bed for extra sleeping spaces.

Maid service shows up everyday around 10-11 am and they always did a wonderful job. They always ask if we have everything we need and are more than willing to get it for you if they don't immediately have it on their cart.

There are multiple pools around the resort and to access them you must get a colored wristband. The kiosks where you get your wristband also supplies you with towels for use at the pool. You can get an unlimited amount of towels.

The restaurants at the resort are very expensive and the food is not worth the price tag. Don't get me wrong, it was not bad food, I just can't justify paying $13 for a roast beef sandwich that costs $3 to make. Alcoholic drinks are very expensive, but they were very good.

All of the staff have been extremely courteous at all times. They always say hello and aks if you need anything. That's everyone from the concierge to the maids, to the other cast members that you randomly run into in the hallways and walkways.

The negatives about staying here is the pricey, but at the same time we are all treated with respect and the staff is there everytime you need them.

I would highly suggest staying here. We are definitely coming back.

It's the best place to bring kids. The staff is extremely friendly and polite. Lots and lots of activities for adults and kids. I would give it at least 3 days , the more the better.

It's been a great vacation staying here. It is very clean and accommodating. Despite there being a lot of people enjoying the amenities, we have yet to feel crowded or overwhelmed. We are vacationing in October, YMMV. The food, drinks, and other consumables are expensive... Food at the bar is limited, the menu changes, and they are always out or not serving something. The cafe serves pizza. This is inexpensive and very tasty... Great for a family. Beach access is great. The pools are clean a Max 3.6 Ft. The lazy river is great for kids and adults. Lounging is available poolside and on the beach. Overall a great stay. It would give it 4.5 stars...

This was our 2nd time to visit. The first was 5 yrs ago. Our first visit was amazing. The food, the service, beach access all superior. This 2nd time everyone pointed out the food was sub par and extremely over priced. The staff was attentive and professional as expected and we all complimented the service. The alcohol is set for price gouging and not worth the purchase. Also, you can purchase drinks in the mini-store, but can't consume them anywhere, but your room; thats just not worth the price either. Eat at the Four Seasons next door or across the street at Monkey Pod and skip Aulani. In our opinion the food was better last time. Expect the rooms to be clean and tidy w no issues, the pool to be busy, but still enjoyable and the resort staff attentive to your needs. If your not a good, then this place will do just fine for a normal family.

Didn't stay here, just popped in to have brunch. The view was spectacular, the service was the top notch customer relation with a smile that you expect from a Disney owned property. The food was great portions, though the potatoes were a bit stale and the hollandaise sauce was way too salty. Had a great time here, though, and would go again.

The place is beautiful and represents Hawaii's culture with a family touch. Has nice things for family to do, like tubing river. Parking is high prices, wine was 2nd rate, yet glass cost $11.

Do not, do not , do not waste your money a staying here. The staff is rude and unhelpful. They do not provide the amenities advertised. The continual excuse for not providing everything they said they would is, we are fully booked. Wait times are ridiculously long. Totally overrated and overpriced. And the ghosts they call management are not available.

Aulani, A Disney Resort & Spa has the best kids club for families traveling with kids.
I would love to visit Kapolei and Maui in Hawaii and visits the Big Island of Hawaii.
My two sons are going to enjoy the waterfalls, active volcanoes; black, green and white sand beaches, historic sites and unspoiled nature.
I would like for my youngest son to Explore Hawaiian Culture, Art
and Music at Aulani, a Disney Resort kids club this year

Amazing property, top notch accommodations, great food, clean, definitely a must whether you love Disney or not ! A favorite vacation destination with more things to do than there is time for.

Beautiful pool area with many pools and hot tubs to choose from. Rooms were nice, reminded me of great wolf lodge. Wasn't enough lighting in the bathroom, i could barely see to shave. Also no exhaust fan so condensation an issue, along with the limited lighting, which showed some water damage. Beach chairs never moved so the groomer couldn't level out the sand so the sand built up under and around them causing to be unlevel. Overall a great place, nothings perfect, and disney did another fine job.

It was a nice get away. Sad that they are going from the Lilo and Stitch to more of Moana. The rooms were nice. The adult pool was pretty great. Disney did a much better job of supplying shade umbrellas than the hotel we stayed in on Waikiki. Great photographers roaming and willing to snap walk by photos or staged settings. Overall the stay was great. I don't think it was worth 3.5 times cost better than the other hotel we stayed at. I do have to say that the Disney Luau was WAY better than the others I've been to (just not enough fire). Also, for the Luau, it is really worth the extra for the premium seating. Not only do you get the best seating, but you also get free alcohol for the entire evening (much better than $8 per drink). Also, this is a resort by Disney, not a totally Disney Resort. It's a Polenisian Resort. You can completely go the entire time without seeing a character if you want. It's a great isolated place, but the increased cost over other equally nice resorts makes this a 4 rather than a 5.

The hotel was very clean. All cast members were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was nice and we didnt have trouble finding a seat. We always love staying at thr hotel for the disney aspect. And there is lots tondo around the resort.

I honestly can't say enough good things about the hospitality and the service we encountered at Aulani. We were traveling with two rambunctious boys and my father who is in a wheelchair and sometimes it takes a village to get us from place to place.

Everyone we encountered was wonderful! I have to give special thanks to Topaz, Roni who was very sweet to us, and to Stanley in recreation services who made everything magical. He was very understanding, hard working and kind! Thanks to Stanley and a cool rental chair (not from Disney but another company) my Dad (and Mom) were able to get in the ocean for the first time in about 20 years! Thank you Aulani!

Went here for the gift shop for souvenirs, and we were still greeted with that Disney magic! Stayed here for a week a few years ago and had a great time. Aulani borders public lagoons, so dip your feet in the water, even if you're not a hotel guest.

If you're a DVC member, this hotel is definitely worth a visit. There are several pool options, including an adults only area, and a private beach, which always had plenty of open chairs when we visited. The hotel has a good variety of food options too. There's not much to eat or do in the immediate vicinity, so definitely get a rental car if you want to see Oahu. It's a very easy drive to Honolulu. Good for families or couples who don't mind the Disney vibe.

Visited for the first time this Christmas weekend, and I absolutely enjoyed my stay.

Self parking is easy to find and maneuver. But, they charge $37/daily even with a room reservation.

Staff were greeting us before we even got to the entrance! ALL the employees were so cheerful and helpful.

Our room was clean and smelled fresh when we got in, and when we asked for extras of anything it was delivered to us quickly.

The pool areas were always free of debris and there are lots of lounge chairs around. There are maybe 7 or 8 different swimming areas, with 2 just for ages 18 and older.
Food & drinks are available poolside or you can go to the bars and order. It's mostly bar food so you know how that goes and it's served on recycled brown paper plates so not the most appealing.

They offer a lounge to shower and clean up in if you're already checked out of the hotel but still wanted to make full use of the pool and etc.

Since it was Christmas, they offered free hot cocoa and gingerbread cookies from 3-6pm. What a treat!

My mother, my daughter and I had a lovely stay at Disney Hotel Aulani. The staff was very helpful, very fast and pleasant. I found staff would go out of their way to help and yes was the answer to everything. We even were a day late for our luau and they didn t even blink an eye. They welcomed us the next night no penalty. The fun for kids was great. Water slide, lazy river, scavenger hunt, story telling and Manaui (little men hidden all over the grounds). Very magical for my 6 year old. Expensive food and food quality was medium in most restaurants on sight.

I loved Aulani. The slides were amazing, especially the body slide. The pool and lazy river was the best, along with the beach. We went paddle boarding and it was pretty amazing. The waves weren't horrible, you could definitely swim in them. Aunty's Beach House was cool, they made slime, but there is mainly 5-7 year olds there. But, they met Stitch which was cool. The snorkeling was super cool, but if you cannot tolerate cold water very well like me, maybe not the best decision.

BEAUTIFUL RESORT . The only thing i didn't like is if your stay is a week long all the characters have same clothes on all week. Character breakfast, Character dinner and the ones u see walking on resort.O and there's only Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy Chip,Dale, Moana & ShellieMay. NOT too much disney going on here for disney resort.

I am a resident of Hawaii, so naturally used Kamaaina rate. Our family has stayed twice.
The first experience was super nice, they upgraded our room, staffs WERE very friendly, so we decided to come here again.

The second experience was the most disappointing and disgusting in many respects. My wife also agrees. Service quality is obviously terrible. Some staffs are nice, but overall, other staffs, who look local Hawaiians, are generally are poorly trained.
I am originally from Japan, and this hotel is populated with lots of Japanese tourists, and staffs are now probably fed up with the tourists, who are not fluent in English. I look like a typical Japanese visitor, maybe this is one of the reasons why I was treated badly. I am a bilingual, so I could even hear some staffs speak ill of their customers!!!!(not only Japanese!) right in front of me!!!! I was really upset! I warned the staff I would definitely write about this, and tell the staff name to the hotel manager, of course. I strongly hope she is fired!!!

It's pretty, but they kinda ruin the aloha vibes with their policing of the beaches to keep locals out. Our Christmas dinner here was highly disappointing too so not really sure what it has going for it besides being a pretty location.

3 stars only because it cost us $1800 for an over night stay. Other than that we had a blast at the pools both days we were there. I wish Kamaaina had more of a discount, you almost need to take out a loan just for a weekend stay

Took family n grandparents here. Been to disney cruise twice before. Here is similar with less-no shows, the luau is $130-180/person and includes a mediocre dinner with boring 2 hour show. Less activities, food overall is mediocre at best and overpriced.
Kids enjoyed the pool a lot.
Cruise a better option.

We stayed at Aulani for 12 days and had a fabulous time! The 1 bedroom island garden view room was awesome with a great view. The room was cleaned several times during our stay by housekeeping. The resort was amazing with awesome views! The adult pool, the infinity pool, the lazy river, and the private beach were our favorite spots! I ran into several characters and was able to take photos with Minnie and Mickey, Chip and Dale, and Goofy. There was plenty of stuff for adults and kids. My daughter loved Aunty's Beach House and the activities around the resort such as finding the Menehunes. The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The concierge was great about telling us places on the island where we could venture out and have fun! It was overall a great experience and we will be back!

If you're scanning reviews, then here's the bottom-line. The Aulani is a truly enjoyable resort to stay at - even if you don't have kids - or they're all grown up. You'll love the place, and you'll be telling your friends about it...

Be sure to check-out my photos and videos because you'll discover the true beauty of this special resort.

The Aulani, and it's one of my favorite places on earth.

One of the reasons I like The Aulani so much is that it is far away from the congested & overly commercialized Waikiki area.

The service from The Aulani "cast members" (basically, everyone working there) is polite, courteous, and second-to-none.

When you arrive at The Aulani, they always greet you by saying "Welcome Home!" Treating you like family ('Ohana in Hawaiian) is core to their customer service. Upon arrival, women get a flower lei. Men get a kukui nut lei. And, children get Menehune necklaces.

Tip: After you've received your leis, ask a cast member snap a photo of your group in the lobby.

The open-air lobby is a thing of beauty - that gives way to a panoramic view of the grounds, including their well-done water park feature.

The resort has a hotel side and a timeshare side. Being a 4-Star hotel, it's pricey, well-appointed, clean, & comfortable.

But, the timeshare side is where the accommodations really shine. On this side, you get access to one, two, and three room villas. And, the villas come with a washer & dryer, as well as a kitchen.

TIP: To save a lot of money related to food, consider getting groceries at an area grocery store or make use of the nearby Country Island Market (see my review).

Depending on your arrival time, you can count on your room not being ready until about 3 to 4 PM. When arriving before that, you'll likely be given a pass to get into the 'Ohana room (often crowded in early afternoon).

Speaking of restaurants, there are a several places to eat on the property. Just keep in mind that, to me, they are all pricey for what you get.

Besides the 'Ama 'Ama restaurant (my favorite), there is a buffet-style restaurant called The Makahiki set below the lobby and next to a beautiful Koi pond.

The Ulu Cafe is small convenience-style cafe featuring pricey, pre-packaged sandwiches, salads, snacks, etc. They have a small hot deli area, as well as a selection of expensive cookies, muffins, etc.

There are also close area restaurants.

Attractions - By far, the most notable attraction onsite is the Water Park, featuring a lazy river and volcano splash-mountain. These are meant for kids of all ages. There's also two swimming pools.

The Aulani shares the absolutely beautiful Kohola Lagoon with other resorts. You can rent paddle boards, canoes, a ping-pong table, and even take a ride on The Aulani outrigger boat.

There are numerous organized things to do at The Aulani. There's a Kids Club, as well as a calendar of daily activities for kids. You can sign-up for morning workouts on the beach area, a lu'au, even star-gazing.

TIP - The Aulani offers car rentals so that you can take a drive around the island, head over to Waikiki, Pearl Harbor, or Diamond Head. You can also drive over to the Northshore to check-out some ziplining excitement (see my review of Climbworks Keana Farms zipline attraction).

TIP - If you'll be traveling by cab to The Aulani from the Honolulu International Airport, I recommend calling ahead to Chalie's Taxi before your fly in so you can schedule your pick-up and get the $50 flat rate charge. Otherwise, you'll pay more.

TIP - Treat yourself to a spa treatment or two. You'll be glad you did.

Give The Aulani a try. It will be a wonderful memory for your family, and you'll likely want to go back again.

Thank you for Liking my review. Share it with your friends.
