Attended a company holiday party here recently and was very impressed with the professionalism of the staff and the layout of the conference room in relation to the bar and the restroom, which is obviously important when attending a company party.

One of the best Marriott that I have stayed. I travel a lot and mostly stay at Marriott. This one is very unique with its location, river views, architecture and room sizes. It has very nice banquets to host your social events.

This is a beautiful hotel and what's makes it even better is it's right on the Savannah River. To walk down the river walk and looking over to the South Carolina side at night to see the lights of the houses is just wonderfully splendid. With downtown Augusta being just a couple of blocks the other way, the location of this fabulous hotel is ideal. The only thing I wish it had was a Continental Breakfast but otherwise, a wonderful stay!

Very nice convention center!

Very nice convention center!
PROS: Clean, Friendly, CLOSE TO PLENTY OF SIDEWALK BARS, (-:
CONS: Two days, there and I couldn't find their pool. Staff was helpful? Go down that hall to the end and through the door on the right? Parking: PRICEY VALET PARKING!
Very close to slums, & beggars in the bar area! Many Boarded Buildings & Shops! Wife didn't feel safe walking the area. & we are not bar-hoppers. Didn't find much to do in this area!

The rooms and service we're great. The hotel itself is beautiful and well taken care of. My only complaints are that my room didn't have trash bags, and one of the key-card activated gates of the parking garage didn't work, so you had to back up and go to a different gate just to exit the parking garage. Honestly I think it's silly that you need a key-card to exit the parking garage in the first place.

I attended a wedding reception at this location and I can say that this was the most peculiar Marriott I have ever been to. When the guests began to arrive, everything was in disarray. the cocktail reception/antipasto was partially put together and being completed one plate (not platter) at a time. There were supposed to be options for various dietary restrictions and it was less than accommodating. We stood around for over an hour waiting until they opened the hall. Why? Because there was 6 chairs . The bride's family scrambled to help them get it together before the wedding party arrived. The banquet hall was lovely and once everything got started it was fine. The bar was great but the food was appalling. Lukewarm, processed, pre-packaged, knorr or Lipton gravies, sauces and rice? The mac and cheese was a step about Kraft, mashed potatoes were obviously flakes. The chicken cutlets were so pale, I went for a slice of beef (tough) and a salmon (overcooked).... needless to say, I am disappointed in this location. Do better for the South.

I had a room mix up and it was beyond taken care of!!!
Let's just say...
#Beautiful views!
Perfect stay for an Augusta Birthday Weekend!
Our room was sleek, modern, comfy and clean. It felt like we had our own penthouse studio apartment.
There's nothing better than waking up in your suite to 4 large windows of views of the river!
Even the bathroom had majestic views overlooking the pool.

I will say that the hotel can be a bit confusing to navigate as there are multiple towers (main tower and the suites tower). I didn't like that you couldn't check into the suites tower after a certain time...so you have to go back fourth from tower to tower.
** On a good note there's bell service to help with luggage but I prefer taking care of my own luggage and parking. (I'm kind of weird about that)
As for parking it can be a bit confusing... just because you have to navigate what's blocked off or not.
***BUT! once you park there's no need to leave. There's plenty of bars, restaurants, and other attractions within walking distance of the hotel. Heck! There's an art museum across the street from the entrance of the hotel.
The staff was another awesome factor! The hospitality was on point! Everyone was friendly and willing to do what it takes to make your stay perfect.

The minor issue I had was the the ice machines need an upgrade. I had to travel down 2 floors in order to get ice.

Other than that all my needs were met!

Fleeing from Irma from Naples this hotel is a gem! People are very friendly and it's pet friendly also which we are so grateful for. Room was nice and the food is great. We will definitely come back. We fell in love with Augusta.

A delightful hotel that I spend every Thanksgiving at. The rooms are wonderful and the upgrades have been amazing to see over the years. The breakfast provided over Thanksgiving day is a lovely offer, and we make that part of our routine. The views from the rooms are always spectacular, and the waterway so close is a great asset as well.

Be very cautious when using this hotel. Management/staff was very deceitful about billing. Whatever they quote you, your hotel room is going to be per night, make sure you add on $20+ in taxes, parking and fees per night that they re not going to tell you about. Also rates were changed from what we were quoted at check-in. Get everything in writing first. Basically got scammed for $100 over 3 nights.

Very nice hotel! Staff and manager were all very friendly and helpful and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Beds were so comfy. Breakfast was amazing! Two complaints: staff had to relocate us to another room since the one we were given first had not been cleaned - and this happened twice! Also, the bathroom doors NEED locks! Staying in a hotel room where the bathroom doesn t lock is very uncomfortable to say the least. Still, this hotel was beautiful and overall a good experience. We were well taken care of!

I've been to many Marriott hotels but this convention center was awesome and there was a hotel inside of the establishment . It was great and the amount of people that it held was phenomenal. That would be a great place if you're having a very big convention.. hold it there. Even the dining hall was exquisite. I give this hotel five stars because not even just the layout or the amount of people it held but the friendliness and how kind the staff members were... just great.

Had a mysterious charge, and when trying to call to get a simple receipt, no one answers, no one calls back, and they just send you to a voicemail. They said it's because they were extremely busy (for the entire three hours I was calling)...late morning on a Tuesday. If that's the case, there should probably be more staff, or someone (anyone) who can handle receipts. It's a fairly simple request.

I was not pleased because the event I attended wasn't over til 12 and they removed all food by ten. We still had people coming in from work to attend and the didn't get the luxury of enjoying the food.

A nice property in a an old city. Everything was fine but I feel like the Event staff was less then great. From a former hotel manger, staff satisfaction comes second only to the guest. They all seemed disgruntled.

Very nice hotel, with very friendly staff. I was very disappointed because they didn't have their restaurant open to get breakfast. They have a small Starbucks for coffee you have to purchase. I bought a breakfast sandwich and it was burned i could not eat the bagel. We had a 2 1/2 year old with us and I needed milk but there was none in the vending area. Everything else was fine very clean.

I stayed in the Marriott Suites side of this location. The hotel has both regular rooms as well as suites. My room was ok, albeit outdated by Marriott's standards. Fortunatetly though the event I was attending was very close and this helped. Located downtown Augusta also.

Shower wasn't cleaned from previous guest. When I checked out the concierge asked how my stay was. When I informed her of the shower issue, she said "Oh that's too bad" and contained checking me out. She didn't offer to fix it nor offer any resolution. In this case I wondered why she even asked.

I was traveling for school/business. I needed a quiet relaxing environment to work and study from while I traveled. The internet speed was great, my room had a large desk & sofa for work areas. The view of the Savannah River was very relaxing. The room was large, the bathroom had a modern and sophisticated look. The staff was very responsive to anything I needed. The hotel restaurant serves pretty good food so if you're busy working from the hotel room you don't even have to leave the building. This hotel is right on the river walk which was lovely at sunset. I felt pretty safe in the area.

It's not so bad if you can get over the GM Mr. Leech, He's extremely rude. If you stay there just try to dodge him. I've been there enough times to know, I'm pretty sure the staff would say the same. If Mr. Morris doesn't already know about it, then he's completely detached or just as big of one.
