It closed very soon after getting there and it was very unexpected. I wish I would have had more time to show my kids and my niece the animals that they have there. I'm going to go back again and give it another try because everything was great other than it closing very soon after arriving.

Love it

I always love coming out to Audubon Park. It is very beautiful and relaxing out here. I meet many nice people when I am here as they are friendly and appreciating the beauty just like me. The park is huge and a wonderful place for people to come enjoy an afternoon. Bring your kids here and they will have a blast.

A must place to go! The details in the exhibits make you feel like your in another country not just a zoo. Make sure tongonearly when the animals are more active. Plenty of places for snacks and the food at the restaurants were surprisingly very good.....make sure to have lunch on the porch in the swamp, the kids will love it

The Audubon Zoo was beautiful and there were many amazing exhibits to see. The staff was courteous, the food was pretty good, and prices were about average for the general zoo expectation. I am giving my experience three stars because of the very unreasonable rule that adults must purchase a Cool Zoo pass just to be present with their kids while they splash around. When I first approached the gate, I did not have a pass for myself or for my son. The family ahead of me hot in and the adults did not have passes, but the staff member said that was okay. So I bought a pass for my son and came back a little later and was told I would have to buy a pass for myself. The lines were extremely long and I did not want to wait again to get myself a pass. I think it is very dumb to have to pay to get in when my only intention was to sit on the side. I realize many adults would take advantage of this but there are always sharpie stamps for people not getting wet or having Banda for those who do purchase passes. I tho k it's a huge waste of money and am really disappointed! Shame on you!

I love to come here. I usually come a few times a week in the spring or fall when it's not so hot.

The track is a 1.82 mile loop with ample room for lots of people walkers, joggers, stroller-pushers, dog-walkers, cyclists, roller-bladers, etc. Foot traffic travels both directions, but if you are coming on a bike, make sure you go counter-clockwise and stay in your lane.

If you get curious about the cute little bridge into the interior of the park, be aware that on the other end of the bridge is a golf course. I didn't notice the signs the first time, and walked across the whole golf course before reaching the HUGE sign at the other side that translates to "you might die if you get hit in the head with a golf ball, and it will be your fault because you didn't pay attention to this giant sign."

Also inside the track is a small body of water, and on the other side, Ochsner Island, aka Bird Island, with thousands of birds in several species. In the springtime, hundreds of ducks line up on the shore trackside, all about a foot apart. It's pretty awesome. There are also times when flocks from other areas take temporary housing and fill up the island even further.

There are at least three rest areas around the track with bathroom, water fountain, and bench, so it's very friendly to all fitness levels. I even attended a Walk for Multiple Sclerosis there. There are also many many trash cans. I'm not sure what the lighting is like at night, but they have a lot of stations along the track where you can call for help if you need it.

The parking is ample with an in-park lot (accessible from Magazine St), street parking to the north and south (on Magazine and on St. Charles), and even more parking in a lot across Magazine St near the zoo/tea garden/pool.

And there are tons of Pokestops here, in case that's your thing. "Squirtles for days," said another visitor.

Just took a ride on the bike, sat up on the fly and watched the ships go by. It was beautiful day and there were a lot of people out there. I guess everyone had the same idea, had to get out of the house been locked up with his covid stuff too long.

Audubon Park has always been one of my favorite places for urban birding. Bird Island and the Lagoon is littered with places to get close up shots of herons, egrets, ducks, ibis and more.
