Auckland Zoo Review

Fantastic, great enclosures, always something new when we go back, kids absolutely love it. Pays to be early to get close carpark

I love going to the zoo with the kids. C a moment of sharing and discovery.

when they are doing construction customers should be informed when buying tickets.Also not many animals .

Nice place and funny experience , but bad design as lots of animals have places to hide, so you will not have chance to see them

Had a great visit to Auckland Zoo showing family from South Island around. Bit cool so some animals tucked away but Elephant experience was great.

Its half under construction so pretty lame atm. Will return when finished

I haven't visited the zoo in a very long time, so many positive changes. It was a wonderful day.

Probably should lower the price during construction was limited for picnic spaces and no lockers for storing stuff.

Love seeing all the Animals and being with the family

I would visit every day if I could , animals are better than humans

I loved this place. I got to see animals I've never seen before (kiwi, Tasmania devil. ..). I also liked fish and chips I had at one of the zoo restaurants.

Was a pretty cool place to visit however the cleanliness of the toilets let us down considerably.

Visited whilst on holiday there had to wait for rain to stop but worth the wait well laid out clean great staff and got to see a Kiwi (briefly).

Whether you can see a kiwi is luck. I was bad luckily for the first time but it was a pity we could not see the second time.

Auckland Zoo never bores, never know what the animals will get up too

Even on the busiest day it is less crowded than I expected.

Expect no parking. Lol! Went around 4 times & gave up

Amazing! Way beyond my expectations. It is well worth visiting.

We have a friend's of the zoo pass so pop in whenever. The little girl always has a good time.

Zoo is good but The Main Cafe is just unable to keep up with normal lunch time demand. Don't think I've ever been able to purchase anything there because even after having to wait 15 minutes in a queue I haven't been close to purchasing

Great place to enjoy in weekend for family, friends or even if you lone.

Huge park and lots animals, all attraction and event will be available.

Highly recommend for traveler too:)

They always update somewhere in the faculty. We visit here about twice a year and we never get bored with it. Lovely place!

Kids loved it but the food can be expensive if your on a budget.

Absolutely awesome!!!! It will be even better when the Asian sections restoration is finished.

Was pretty good. Bit upset that I didnt get to see any otters though Otherwise nice day out with plenty to see. Not much in the way of parking though.

love this place but large area was under construction

We had a big family day here two weeks ago there was 7 kids (3-12yrs) 9adults. A huge days but absolutely fantastic we all had such a great time. Very reasonably priced (brought online in advance so saved 10%. Compared to Australia zoo so much more economical , more variety, heaps more information supplied in fun ways for kids. We cant wait to come back and see when the asian part is all finished being renocated.

Nicely separated areas for different countries/continents. Especially loved the New Zealand part.

Lots of animals. Set out well and staff very helpful. Thanks for a great day out for me and my grandkids

Does not reach New Zealand's reputation abroad and needs to be developed with a variety of animals and their places

Had an awesome couple of hours here today with a couple of our Moko's A large variety of exhibits to see and to interact with. Can't wait to return

Great place to take the kids. Keeper talks are really interesting and entertaining. Darwin's cafe is a bit silly pushing the evolution agenda. Other cafes good and great layout of enclosures. Can get quite close to animals

Currently in renovation stage. Might be better after everything is done.

You never quite know what to expect with Auckland Zoo, but you know it's almost always good. If you, like myself, only really go to the Zoo on a semi annual basis, every visit is a new, fresh experience, no matter how many you've seen these animals - for me this time, it was the Kea being extra friendly, the appearance of the Tasmanian Devils, and a large amount of renovation having been done to the Orangutan enclosure and cafe area. Next time? Who knows. I highly recommend paying the ol' Zoo a visit :)

Can see animals from all over the world, the first time I saw a turtle as big as a body! Kiwi used to live in a dark environment~ and there is a very different place from the zoo I have been to in Asia. I can get close to many animals. Without railings, I stand in front of you. Sometimes I suspect it is Not a toy, haha~ Unfortunately, there are no koalas and kangaroos.

Great day out with the kids well laid out and maintained. Well worth a visit. Only small gripe is the food at the cafe is pretty average but you don't go to the zoo for the food.

I volunteer here so I am totally bias. If you've not been in years then come visit. Even though the Zoo is going through changes you will still have a great day. You may even see me there!

A fairly small zoo. However, very nicely designed. The visit was definitely worth it.

Far too many exhibits constantly under renovation, means missing out on many star attractions.

Always a great experience at the Auckland zoo, loved chatting with the knowledgeable volunteers and friendly keepers. The animals all look very helpful and we're looking forward to the new South East Asia area

Went there on a Friday and the weather was amazing. It definitely had that Summer Vibe going in. It had all the animals on that lazy Sunday mode, sunbathing in the sun and resting. For a Friday there was alot of people there which surprised me.
Just a heads up that they're upgrading the middle section on the zoo so you'll go around in a wide circle and the main cafe is closed. You have to go to one of the other cafes/ice cream stores.

Great to see the continued redevelopment. A much improved environs for both animals and zoo patrons

A wonderful place to see so many different animals in the one area that we wouldn't otherwise get to see. And even though they are not in the wild, they are obviously being well looked after and given as close to realistic an environment as possible. Staff are all friendly, helpful obviously passionate about what they do.

The zoo is very spacious and houses a large collections of animals from all over the world. The animals are well looked after and kept in an open zoo concept (no cages, rather kept away on an island seperated by water). Overall a fun half day visit!

Great place to take the Family, lot's of added attractions for the kid's that make it extra special. Take your own food, wear sensible shoe's, sun block sun hat's and plenty of water.
Some of the service staff are pratts and not very helpful. Aside from that we had a wonderful day

Good place but Delhi zoo is much better than Auckland zoo

Very informative and good layout. A nice outdoor activity enjoyed by young and old. Auckland is doing great work to protect animal species.

Loved It! Heaps of animals. Although some animals seem to need bigger enclosures as they seem stressed.
