Lots of animals, they look well taken care of as well. It's quite a big zoo, so would recommend you set aside eneough time to cover at your leisure. Lots of lizard displays, didn't see all the animals though, it must be their great camouflage or they were napping. Great coffee, too! Overall, a good experience!

Actually very nice zoo. Actually, as there were no animals to see during our visit. Since I had already hoped for a little information at the entrance. And I did not have the personal information about the animals at the enclosures. General information is many and well designed. There are also zoo park helpers in each area who tell you something. If you're hoping to see a kiwi right now, you need to bring time. We spent half an hour in the night house and saw neither kiwi lady nor her male. Both are currently in a rapprochement phase after a long illness of the female and are apparently still looking for themselves. But all in all, a really beautiful area. I especially liked the New Zealand area of the zoo.

Could easily spend the whole day here and obviously it's great for kids. There are also venues for hire and a small fast food/ ice cream joint on site.

Only loses a star because my point of reference is skewed by Singapore Zoo.

It's small and I got lost but overall the animals are kept in a good environment and seem to be healthy and in the best conditions. Renovation is taking place for bigger areas for animals

The best Zoo in NZ hands down. The recent renovations to the Safari area have made the zoo much more accessible and a better experience. You feel close to the animals while still maintaining a safe distance. Can't wait for the new ape and tiger area to be opened

Although there are still some places that have not been repaired, the overall is good. The signs on the road are a bit unclear. If you can draw arrows or footprints on the ground, I believe it is more convenient for visitors to find the place they want to visit.

Well maintained zoo. It gives an experience as if we are in their natural habitat. Uniquely divided into various geographic areas of the world. Got a chance to see the inconic Kiwi bird of new zealand as well.

A decently priced zoo with lots of awesome animals to see! My wife and I came here late on a Thursday morning in January 2019. It took us just over a couple of hours to get round including a coffee break halfway round.

The zoo is currently constructing a new section right in the middle of the campus, so it might be worth waiting to go until this is complete. As ever with zoos, you may go round while most animals are sleeping! The cheetahs were fast asleep on our visit but we managed to spot the lone (?) kiwi rummaging around. Our favourite enclosure was the spider monkeys - well worth watching their adorable antics!

No food in the central cafe was vegan at all, which was a shock to be completely honest (animal conservatism and an omnivore diet are not especially compatible!). At least the coffee was decent.

Wont revisit. Boring. Half the animals werent in there enclosures. Half the zoo is under construction. Expensive food. Barely spent an hr here. Brought daughter here to celebrate her birthday, she was unimpressed, went to butteryfly creek after. Much better experience.

all my life I've visit zoos around the world & this is a great zoo. Friendly staff nice shops surrounded by other attractions too like Motat! I loved the zoo as a kid & at 75 years old Auckland zoo is one of the best in the world! thanks to 'my zoo.'

So many animals were missing from being on show. Trying so hard to see a kiwi whilst in NZ failed with this zoo. The tunnel we entered to see the nocturnal birds was so dark and dangerous for me on a disabilty scooter I could see nothing except some dark twinkle lights in celling. Even the Chinese family could not see me that's why they ran into me nearly knocking me off my seat. The alleged zebra enclosure had 2 black and white chickens in them yes I do have pics of the chickens but no zebras. Plenty of workman doing construction in various different places. The only tiger I saw was pacing back and forwards appearing to be stressed by the young group of Chinese visitors with their blasting music box. Although I was warned a few animals were not on display there fore I was given an 8 dollers reduction I felt this was a poor excuse of a zoo staff at ticket desk were rude abrupted in telling me they have an hands off approach with animals they didn't go on to inform me it would also be an eyes off.as well. Very disappointed all round. Prices in shop were excessive to point of being rip off. This zoo is not worth any money with rude abrupt ticket staff.

To be honest if i had of paid full price when we visited I would have been ultra disappointed. We did an open late and so many exhibits were either empty or closed or the animals were off display. Half the place is under redevelopment and a fenced off building zone. It will be stunning once complete in the mean time is rather a disappointing visit.

Wonderful place to take the family and get away from it all! Easy to see the animals and feel part of it. New and improved developments to enclosures means it's always interesting and exciting.
