Another one of my favorite places at the beach to eat at

Good food. Nice atmosphere. Reasonable price. Do not miss if you are in the area.

One of the top places in Southport along the water! Informal and laid back, it's food, drink and service are great. The inside is simple, a walkup counter to order and fridges with a variety of beverages and beers. Eating is entirely outside under a open structure (with ceiling fans and an ocean breeze to keep away the bugs). Expect it to be crowded but simply let the hostess know your party is there and while you wait grab a drink (don't worry about paying yet) and take it outside and sit or stand on the deck by the water and wait for your name to be called. Just remember what you drank so later you can let your server know once you have a table, eat and are ready for the bill (they use the honesty principle). One of my favorite spots and the first place we hit whenever we go to Southport!

I got the crab cake and grouper salad. Both were lacking flavor. Many people rave about Provision, but I left underwhelmed.

Awesome lunch special - 1/2 lb shrimp with a crabcake. Yummy.

The food was amazing. You eat looking out on the water.

The food was great, the server was great, the greeter was great, practically everything was great. The only thing I can complain about is the untraditional ordering process.

You give them a personal item, they place it on a table. Meanwhile you're waiting in line to grab your own drink (and any refills) after that you have to go find your table with the personal item.

Other than the weird quirk, this place has incredible food and is well worth a visit! Prepare to wait, they're usually busy!

The food is so great here! If you want to come here and not wait in line, Monday early afternoon is a great time. We didn't wait hardly any time by the time we ordered and got our food; I had barely started on my beer by the time the food came out. The shrimp are fresh and delicious, and the atmosphere is so relaxed. There is no AC, so if you want inside seating, don't come here. All seating is outside with only the fans and breeze to keep you cool (and I don't mind this at all). I'll keep coming here every year at beach time!

Amazing food every time. The shrimp are great and the location can't be beat. It is right on the dock and the waiting area makes even a long wait no problem. My husband and I come here everytime we are at the beach, multiple times in the week.

Great place to dock and dine. Typical bar food, but good none he less. They have an honor system to get your alcoholic drinks in bottles and cans, also have a full bar. Wonderful views.

We enjoy visiting every year when we visit the beach. Limited menu but they do it well. I am always impressed by the unique system they use to manage the restaurant!

This is a family. Not your everyday or just anywhere food. You can only get the beat from the best.

Food was decent but expected better being right on the ocean.

Foods inferior, people seem to be enamored with the get it yourself drink service like it's something amazing, it isn't lol Now they've managed to cordon off all the parking in the yacht basin off in a pathetic attempt to try and obligate people to patronize there or walk 3 blocks. Such is life I'll walk, The Frying Pan next door is far superior in quality and doesn't need the gimmicks.

Million dollar views. All the staff were super friendly, super helpful, super fast. Broken arm bartender was clever and easy going. Like the honor system. Unique all the way around dealing with virus.
Nothing unique about the food really. Not bad, but certainly not original.
Nothing about out meal stands out as above normal or below normal.

Good stuff. Lunch is my favorite considering the plates are near half price vs dinner!

Perfectly redone after storm damage. Food continues to satisfy my seafood fix and eating on waterfront makes it my favorite place in Southport, NC

Best burger I have ever eaten. Amazing views right on the water. Would highly recommend if in Southport or near by towns . Can be accessed by boat.

Always great, fresh seafood with a wonderful view of the water and boats. Visited during COVID-19 and they have things taken care of to feel safe.

This restaurant is busy due to a wonderful view and reasonably priced food. They needed more servers because there was a lot of plates waiting for pickup. Seeing this I ordered food that did not need to be hot. Wait staff was okay, they call out your name and they find you. We were sitting near the door so it was difficult to hear because they were constantly yelling names. Food was ok.

We've been coming here for many years, even before it became the "cool" place in SP. Consistently great food and the sunsets can't be beat! Try the brownies on your way out...yum!!

To be honest - the first night we went to dinner - I picked another spot even though the Provision Company was the local favorite! The next night - we decided to go here - because our other place was closed. Are we ever glad we did - this place is first on my list when we return. The food was great - the staff friendly - the service simple. Order first, sit down and they bring your food. Oh grab the drinks you want - and when all is done - get up and go pay. The food, drinks and dessert are all delicious!

Have eaten at Provisions several times. On the water and pleasant, covered outside seating. Very busy, especially in season. Many excellent menu selections. Order going in and meal is delivered. Pleasantly delivered. Some great seafood.

Always outstanding customer service, great atmosphere with amazing views, sunsets, food is delicious.

Definitely a must when visiting Southport! Even with the current covid situation the staff was wonderful and the food was a great as always!!

Great location and great value. My husband has split special and enjoy the salt air. Drinks are delicious too!!

Fun place, great setting. I think they can have really good food, but need to pay more attention to their finished product. Need to stop worrying about your numbers and start watching how overdone your seafood actually is. Good luck, will try again!!!

Came by to check on construction progress.They don't open until next weekend.They are working hard and will be ready to open on time.My family will be there!Shrimp are good off the coast this season!

The view was amazing.. Ladies behind the counter are cranky but the food made up for it.

I had the yellowfin tuna salad, and it was great. The salad dressing they use is very good. However, my partner had the tuna steak, and it was extreamly overcooked considering the style of the tuna steak. Over all, the food was good, just maybe shouldnt cook the tuna steak so much. Also i would say that there could be a better effort for a more sustainable way of serving the guests. By this, I mean that everything they served us with was disposable. Plates napkins, silverware, all of it was disposable and will be brought to the landfill. Not environmentally sustainable.

It had good food, good service, but no ranch. Like bruh. How hard is it to get some ranch? Like it s one popular condiment why can t they provide some literally everyone likes ranch i m sure they would have so many more happy customers if they just had some gosh dang ranch . Also the shrimp was overcooked. I d still eat again though they had some swag crab cakes.

My go to place in Southport. A must for a relaxed time at the water.

It was food...not the best not the worst. 3 stars for quick service and great outdoor seating. I had the tuna which was extremely bland..the tartar sauce was the only saving grace. My hubby had the crab cakes and conch fritters which were both meh....I was under impressed. Would I eat here again, possibly if it were the only thing open.

My favorite spot in Southport NEVER disappoints. Always the best peel shrimp! And the service is always friendly and fast!

Hit the Provision Company on a Sunday evening, Labor Day weekend (a few days before Dorian). There was a 30 minute wait. No problem. Live tunes on the patio, sun setting, boats cruising up the ICW. Wife says PC has the best shrimp burger ever. I'm partial to their Grouper sandwich. And you can't beat the wine prices. $5 a glass. There is a reason why this place is popular and starred.

We visit here every time we come to the beach. The staff is friendly and the service is always quick no matter how busy they are. No better shrimp and crab cakes.

Exceptional staff & service! What could be better than a ice cold Corona, a steaming plate of Provisions shrimp and a basket of hot wings with a seat right next to the water? The only thing missing, imho, was Mel Gibson. Great job, ProCo.

Get here early! Everyone goes to Provision Co cause they are that good. Theres always a wait but it's worth it! Thee Special is the way to go and the conch fritters are so good.

Meh.. was told this place had the best crab cakes... but you can tell they are frozen.. kinda gross..

Great laid-back vibe. Fish, shrimp, crab cakes, burgers. Very friendly waitstaff. Casual family-friendly hangout with a bar right on the water with a sunset view.

Unique shrimp and crab cake qusine for the seafood lover. Relaxing atmosphere on the water. Burgers, chicken and salads available for land lovers. Workers are A+, as well as, kind and courteous.
