They made my dress shopping experience so fun and easy, very patient and professional, they make you feel like family.
Super helpful and always delightful. They have a cute boutique with a smaller but unique selection. Some bridal stores you go into can be overwhelming with the amount of dresses & selection. But Arlene's has a phenomenal staff that knows their products, and makes the shopping experience smooth and enjoyable.
The dress I chose originally was strapless and the seamstress made beautiful custom straps from the scraps of my dress from when it was hemmed...came out absolutely gorgeous!
Awesome dress shop that I had the opportunity to visit several times. Debbie is absolutely fantastic.
This place is so small you would likely barely noticeable it from the outside, but inside they have very pretty, affordable dresses and great consultants. My sister found her dress here, or should I say, the consultant did. She put my sister in a dress in spite of my sister's insistence that she did not like it, but it ended up being perfect. I think that's exactly what a consultant should do. Brides have no experience. They think they know what they want, but it is the job of the experienced consultant to not just follow directions, but to help find the perfect dress!
The bridal attendant that worked with me was so friendly and helpful.
I got measured for my bridesmaid dress, I m normally a size 4 in dresses and when my dress arrived for my fitting they ordered a SIZE 10 the dress was HUGE on me and after i stated they ordered a bigger size than needed they said there wasn t enough time to order another and that i still had to pay for $70 alterations. When i arrived for pick up 2 weeks before wedding the dress was still to big and i ended up having to stuff my bra for it to not fall off my body since it was strapless smh absolutely hated it and they were not nice or understanding. Everything ended up costing $310 totaling not worth it for something i can NEVER wear again uugh
Debbie and Jesse were beyond amazing. They treated me with love and care, and truly went above and beyond to make sure my wedding dress was a dream come true!
I HIGHLY recommend them to all my friends & family!
Thank you for truly caring about my expectations from beginning to end!
Their prices not to mention are amazing as well, and they carry a bunch of designers!
The person who helped us (her name was Jewel) was super attentive to the bride's needs though she was strongly opinionated. We found THE dress after three tries. Didn't get seen until 11:45am after an 11am apt.
When I first called the store and spoke to Debbie I was so excited as she was so sweet and inviting. When I arrived for my appointment Debbie and Pam were so sweet and friendly as they tried to find a dress I would like. This was my first ever bridal fitting so I had ideas of what I liked but I had never tried anything on and was new to this. I give this place 2 stars because what ruined my experience was the other lady that worked there. I did not get her name but she was brown skinned with black hair and black glasses. She was just rude and overbearing from when I walked in her demeanor was so uninviting and not cheerful or friendly like Pam and Debbie. As I started looking at dresses, Pam was my consultant but she couldn t even work like she wanted as the unnamed women would keep interjecting into our conversation and listening in when we were talking about in the dressing room to throw in her 2 cents which was not needed. At one point her tone was so rude and nasty When speaking to Pam that it made me uncomfortable and it showed on my face! I overheard another group of customers waiting say oh if that was me I would have just left the salon. whoever this woman is she does not know customer service and really ruined my first experience bridal shopping. This is a very nice salon, I would suggest if you go ask for Debbie or Pam as they put you first and are just as sweet as they can be!
The service @Arlene's bridal is impeccable.... Jewel live up to her Name!!! Stay blessed ladies. Will post pic next week from St. Lucia
There is absolutely nothing bad I can say about this bridal salon. Debbie, Julz and the rest of the staff made every part of this wedding process a breeze. I got my wedding dress from here, all my bridesmaids got their dresses here, and my cousin also just bought her wedding dress here as well! They make you feel like family!!! They never ever try to push a dress that's more expensive, they will only tell you what they feel looks the best ! I Jessi the wedding dress tailor is amazing !! My dress was very large on me she had to take it in about 3 sizes and she did it in one fitting! It fits me like a glove! I can't thank this bridal salon enough for being nothing short of amazing with my dress and my girls dresses !!! Go there and you won't be disappointed!!
These ladies are amazing to work with. 5 of my bridesmaids purchased their dresses from Arlenes and when we last minute (about a month out) needed to order a replacement dress, they stepped up and helped us out and made it happen! I m so happy to have found them and can t wait to give them my future business. Debbie and Jewel really care about their business and love what they do, which was so evident every time I was in there. Thank you so much for taking such good care of us!!!
Thank you so much to the lovely ladies of Arlene s! Debbie, Pam and Jewel are absolute angels and did so much to help make my dream dress a reality. After trying on only 3 gowns, Pam knew JUST the one for me and was she ever right! Pam is a complete expert and the ultimate wedding gown professional. The seamstress is a complete master of her craft- my dress fit me like a glove after my fittings- just right in all of the right places. Special shout out to Jewel who always patiently answered all of my questions when I called the store for updates on dress shipments. Debbie- you run such a lovely shop with a timeless feel. Ladies- you are all incredible and I just love you all so much- wish I could do it all over again!
Xoxo- Kristine
I recently called to set up an app because I'm getting married next year. Whoever answer the phone was very rude sounded not interested in gaining my business and I was told that they needed my credit card to book a Saturday app which would of been fine, when I simply asked what's the reason behind ? She said is our policy that's why. Great customer service NOT
Not enough selection but i found my dress there lol
Very friendly very experienced sales people Found everything we needed for the bride and her girls
Arlene s bridal is absolutely the place to go!! All of the people there were so helpful and patient. Jewel and Deb were fabulous! My seamstress, Jessy, was absolutely lovely. She was so sweet and attentive and such a hard worker. As a team, they really wanted to make sure my style and look, is what I got. And I did! I love my dress. It s truly stunning and fits perfectly and is exactly what I was looking and hoping for. I highly recommend!!
Wedding experience with Arlene's is Amazing! I recommended all my family and friends to go to Arlene's and they love as well!
Debbie was so sweet. Made my sisters and I laugh and gave her honest opinion.
I got my dress from Arlene's in 2017. I went to about 5 different stores. Arlene's had the most beautiful selection, but what sold me most on buying my dress from them was the atmosphere and the people that worked there. Everyone was so nice and helpful, they really made the experience everything a bride-to-be deserves. We went back for all of my bridesmaids' dresses and my mom's dress as well!
got my bridesmaid dresses there love how if your not sure they show you other options.... I also got my vial there and Debbie saved me money didn't rip me off Debbie was GREAT LOVE HER!!!!
My daughter went to Arlene's Bridal Salon today and she was greeted with an unprofessional women named Jewel Muhammad. My daughter traveled far from Tinton Falls to Bloomfield just to look at wedding gowns. There were No Clients in the store so they weren't busy. It was a Friday and the time was around 1:20. The women asked her about the price range and my daughter said around 1200 to 3000. We'll the women wasn't doing anything and she could have shown my daughter a few gowns but instead told her she needed an appointment to see any gowns because they were all in plastic. Now I feel this way, if you re not doing anything and you might have a chance for a sale then HELP THE CLIENT. Never turn a would be client away! You never know if they re going to buy from your store or if she might refer a friend. I'm in business myself, and I never turn people away. You never know if later they will come back with friends who might need your services. That was a very stupid move on Jewel Muhammad! We will NEVER EVER come back to this store NOR REFER anyone to this place. If this women owns this store, she must be doing quite well to turn down a would be client. (Real smart JEWEL)!
I didn't want to give them any stars but you had to put something in. They get a -0- for rudeness!
A small shop, but don't kid yourself! Designer wedding gowns at great prices! Because of it's size, you get plenty of TLC! Arlene's has been in business for so many years. I bought my gown there and so did my daughter. It's important to shop for your gown at a reputable store that's been in business a very long time.
BEWARE! Arlene's Bridal has the worst customer service ever!! Interestingly enough, I just read the reviews AFTER our dresses were purchased and so many people share the same sentiments. The staff has been known to communicate multiple (different) messages about policy, fitting, process, etc. Today I walked into the store after they informed me that I do not need an appointment (mind you, there was no one in the store) and they immediately told me I needed an appointment to be seen. The older woman working was condescending, rude, brusque, and passive aggressive. She, for the most part, refused to assist me AFTER I purchased the dress was prepared for a fitting. I've asked for assistance numerous times and she ignored me!
Customer service plays such a HUGE part in the experience of a bride and her bridal party. Arlene's bridal totally ruined that experience for us. How can a customer service entity be so horrible to its customers?! I don't know why Arlene's carries such an air of elitism - the stench from the carpet is overwhelming; they have ancient bridal and bridesmaid dresses- there is nothing special about this place. Arlene's is not the Kleinfeld of NJ - they are posers! If I could get my money back, I would. I should have read the reviews prior to shopping there.
Amazing experience here! Everyone is so kind and great and pulling dresses.
Also need to mention that the alteration department is SO TALENTED. Not only are they doing my wedding dress, but they were able to completely transform my mom s mother of the bride dress that needed a ton of work to fit her amazingly!
I walk in looking for bridesmaid dresses, there s a lady with glasses that walks up and asks when I m getting married, I tell her April of this year she asks me three times as if I m crazy and says you can t get anything brushes me off and sits down in her stool and completely ignores me . Not a way to treat your customers. Do you know if I had an unfortunate event that forced me to move my wedding date up? She didn t even look at me or bother to help. She was rude before when I tried getting a dress there before and she was rude to me again months later. Don t waste your time here she s extremely negative
When I started my search for a wedding dress I was very overwhelmed with where to start! I was told by a few people to check out Arlene's, so I made my appointment and was eager to start! I walked in with a few pictures on my phone and lets just say within an hour I had my wedding dress AND all 9 of my bridesmaid dresses AND my 2 flower girl dresses!!! My experience at Arlene's surpassed all or any expectations I had!! The staff is unbelievable from Jewel and Christine to the owner Debbie!! I was excited every time I walked in the door because they made me feel like the only bride in the world!!!! The prices are right, my alterations were PERFECT, and my overall experience was priceless!!
Needless to say, my sister's wedding is next (and she is VERY PICKY!) and again Jewel came right to the rescue and within an hour all of us had our dresses picked out and ordered!!!! This is definitely the place to come if you want variety and you want your dress shopping to be a breeze!!! I could go on and on all day, but i'll just say a big thank you to the ladies of Arlene's for making my dress experience memorable, fun and EASY!!!!
There is no better place for all your bridal needs....Top Notch!!!
There are enough good words to describe my experience at Arlene s bridal. My experience with dress shopping was awful until I stepped foot Into this bridal shop. Deb and the staff made me feel so at home. Deb completely listened to everything I was feeling and why I was struggling to find the right dress. She found 10 dresses for me to try and they all were exactly what I was looking for. I swore to everyone I wouldn t find one I love and deb found it. She was so warm and helpful and I highly highly HIGHLY recommend her salon. All the high end fancy places are a factory. They rush you and rip you off . Kleinfields was by far the worst experience of my life. Come to Arlenes!!!
Very satisfied excellent service! Many fine selections.
My experience at Arlene's was outstanding! I got my gown and my mom's dress there. My mom was traveling from NC every time which made the process more difficult for us but Arlene's made any necessary arrangements to fit our needs. We could not be any happier with the understanding and patience they had with us. We are so excited to wear our dresses for my wedding next week!!
I can't thank this bridal salon enough for being nothing short of amazing with my dress and my girls dresses !!! Go there and you won't be disappointed!!
You sound like a 2 year old. "Leaving start without an explanation is like bullying" lolol. Jewel was extremely rude!!!!! Sorry but not everyone will love your business. I'm sure you'll be fine plenty of others seems to love it so don't get your panties in a bunch over one bad rating.
With my 1 year anniversary upon me (3/17) I wanted to post a review.
What is not to love about Arlene's Bridal. The women of this quaint, warm personal bridal boutique are simply FANTASTIC!
Trust me, I searched for a while and was stressed due to time and my wedding being destination. Jewel was simply the best. Her communication was nothing short of superb. I originally chosen a certain dress however, Jewel suggested an alternate dress that was more flattering for me and let me tell you she NAILED IT!!!
Jewel you're exactly as your name says..... A one of a kind Jewel!!!
My daughter s wedding dress is absolutely gorgeous! They have a great selection of bridal gowns to choose from! The entire staff was so welcoming & caring. Thank you everyone! Arlene s is a great place to go when you re out looking for the dress of your daughter s dreams!
Nicky was very helpful and knowledgeable. She was able to make good suggestions based on our comments
I was recommended this shop by my friend for her wedding. The dress price was $151. Then when I came to pick up my dress today, they said it was $168. I was like, why is it $168? They said well, the price is $168. I continued to ask why. Also, they whited out the original discounted price they gave me. They told me that the reason I didn't continue to honor the price they originally gave me was because the bride did not buy the dress from their shop and we were only 3 bridesmaids. Also, the mother of the bride bought her dress from this establishment. Mind you, the whole time, the salesperson was nasty and snarky with me. I would not recommend this place for your wedding dress needs. They make you feel like you are wrong for asking for the discount that was given to you in the first place.
Arelen's bridal was so nice, they were very knowledgeable about what dresses would look best with my body shape and stayed under my budget. They weren't pushy throughout the appointment and made me feel like part of a family.
DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME! NASTY ATTITUDES OF STAFF MADE THIS SHOP A HORRIBLE PLACE! MUCH BETTER EXPERIENCE AT "SAY I DO BRIDAL SHOP" ON BLOOMFIELD AVE IN VERONA! BY THE WAY, THAT'S WHERE I PURCHASED MY DRESS! I PURCHASED MY DRESS THE SAME DAY!!!
We found my MIL dress here. The day we came, we had a great experience and they had a great variety of MIL dresses. My MIL felt like a queen on her initial day here. My MIL worked with them after her dress came in for alternations and they did a wonderful job fitting the dress to her body. The one mark that tainted the whole thing is the dress bag. My MIL had been commuting from Bronx, NY to Bloomfield, NJ for each alternation visit. When it came to taking her dress home, they gave her a plastic garment bag that you would expect from Banana Republic, not a bag for a $800+ dress. When my MIL inquired as to why she got that bag vs a cloth dress bag, they said those were only for the brides. So they sent her home with that bag. After she got back to the Bronx, still very bothered, she called them to express her dissatisfaction to which they told her that if she wanted a cloth bag, she only had to pay $15 for one. That is not what she was told or what she was offered before she left. They then said if she wanted to come back, they would provide her one. Why was that not offered BEFORE she left? She turned them down as it cost more to travel back across the GWB to get it. From what started as a wonderful transaction was tainted by a flippant attitude toward making a customer happy.
I created a google account just to review this place. For starters, I'd like it to be noted that the dresses my bridesmaids ordered were beautiful. Granted, the bridal salon didn't design/make them but they did not mess the order up.
When I brought my EIGHT girls there, everything was discussed. We asked about all costs and steps required. They measured the girls and placed the order. Everything was fine (or so we thought).
The dresses came late (understandable, its the holiday season) but we went to get their fitting done. The girls paid the remainder of their balances and the employee brought the girls downstairs. The seamstress started cutting the bottom of the dresses and putting pins everywhere, you know, starting the alteration process. We were under the impression that the dresses would be pretty true to size, considering the girls were measured but the correct sizes were not ordered. After all the girls finished, we were brought back upstairs and asked how they wanted to pay. When we asked what we were paying for, the owner said "alterations aren't included, check the back of your receipt." (THE BACK OF THE RECEIPT ONLY SAYS ALTERATION COST DUE AT TIME OF FITTING).
instead of DISCLOSING the cost ( a mere $60) at the time of measurement, or even BEFORE cutting the dresses, they assumed everyone was willing to pay them money. My friend's parents own an alteration shop, where they'd be more than happy to take care of that for free. When we said we'd take the dresses back, the owner Debbie said that they'd still have to pay at least $30 because the dresses were already cut. Money isn't an issue for us. Its the fact that the owner tried to hide this "fee" (and she insists she told us) and make pretend everything was okay. Even if I have to pay $100 for alterations for my girls, I would much rather give it to some one who cares about their clients.
And to add to it..
The owner Debbie is extremely unprofessional. She was on the phone with another bride (who apparently hated her dress) and when she hung up, all she was doing was complaining about the brides and how they act when they hate their dress. (I didn't buy my dress there, I went to Kleinfelds). Looks like people have to spend extra money to get good customer service. Such a shame, I had high hopes for this place.
A family friend recommended this place to us, but my experience was disappointing. I'd recommended Arlene's Bridal Salon.
Arlenes bridal is awesome and so is there staff!!! The most friendly, helpful and fun bunch of ladies... Their rating should be a 5.0.
Arlene s is the only place to go as far as I m concerned. It s a family affair for them and for us as I am an Arlene s bride of 27+ years, my sister-in-law is an Arlene s bride of 25+ years, my sister is an Arlene s bride of 15 years, and now my daughter is the newest Arlene s bride to be
Debbie is THE BEST! Not only is she great at what she does but she is a great person too!!! We could not be happier and can t wait to go back for the bridesmaids gowns just like we did for all of our other family weddings. Pure joy to be back at Arlene s Bridal Salon!
Excellent service great people my daughter purchased her bridal gown from this salon. They also have tuxedo and accessories for the groom
Very accommodating, listened to my likes and patient. Nice selection of dresses.
Rude and unpleasant staff and they seem like they could care less about helping anyone.
Debbie is AMAZING !!! Second to NONE, this place is absolutely where you go to fund quality people, and product! Unique and one of a kind! I love this place!
I went to arlene's not really knowing what I was looking for. Sue picked my dresses and the first one I tried on was it! They are awesome and I can't imagine having this experience anywhere else. I cannot wait for my big day to wear my beautiful dress. Thank you ladies!!!
There were some sketchy reviews online about Arlenes specifically about the owner Debbie that made me a little nervous about actually going. Well I decided to hell with the negativity I'll be my own judge. Pinterest totally made me a scatterbrain so I had no idea what I was looking for I was all over the place. Priscilla reigned me in and got An idea of what I was looking for. I tried on 7 dresses and the last dress I just knew it was mine, I couldn't stop smiling. She accessorized me and I knew i had found my dress. When I told her I had one other appointment she totally understood and said that when I was ready to come back she would be there, she didn't pressure me or anything, well I went to that other appointment and couldn't wait to get back to arlenes to get that dress back on! I practically ran out of there and called Priscilla and told her I made my decision she told me to come right in and made time for me right away. She put me back in the dress and accessories without any hesitation and I knew it was the one. I love the staff here, the selection and the service they give you truly makes you feel so special. I highly recommend Debbie and Priscilla.I'm so glad I went! Debbie was a sweetheart and my consultant Priscilla hit the nail on the head and found me my ideal gown. I can't wait to go back for their accessory show and my fittings!!! All the ladies there were so sweet and complimenting me on how beautiful I looked, I truly felt so special. Debbie has a wonderful team of girls there and I'm proud to be an arlenes bride!
I had a terrible experience there . I wouldn t recommend this place . Not professional at all
I went there to get an off the rack dress the lady jewel was so rude and they didn't have many selections for me I won't be going back there ever
I found the wedding dress of my dreams here! When I first showed up at this small shop in Bloomfield I didn t know what to expect. I had already tried 3 other places with no luck. All the dresses at Arlene s were beautiful and unique I found my dress with ease! Debbie and the staff were very helpful and friendly to work with. Throughout the alteration process, I was amazed at what Jesse was able to accomplish. She made the dress fit as if it were made for me! I thought the dress prices were reasonable as well. I attended the veil and headpiece show a few months later, and got a great deal on a matching veil & hair pins! Huge shout out and Thank You to everyone there I would highly recommend!
I really wish I read some of the reviews before coming to this place for a bridesmaid dress. Regardless of the fact that our party's dresses had to be ordered here, I feel like had I known, I would have gone in with thicker skin.
The appearance of this place didn't quite bother me, though others are right in saying that it's the size of a closet, with hardly any (dressing) room to try on a floor-length gown. What did bother me was the professionalism of this place & their ordering/sizing system.
We got measured for our dresses and the woman sizing me didn't let me know the size afterwards. I stupidly trusted them and waited until the dress came in to see that she had ordered me a size 10... I'm not the world's thinnest, but I wear a pants size two and most of my dresses are sized two to four. Thinking it could have been a mistake, I asked another bridesmaid in our group (about my size, but shorter) what size she had gotten -- an eight. I was assured that these dresses run "pretty small", but when I got my dress, it looked like an oversized sleeping bag, made for someone whose nearing seven feet tall.
The next time I was in the bridal salon, I noticed a beautiful young woman (probably a teenager) getting her bridesmaid dress. After getting measured (unlike me), she asked what size was being ordered, because she usually takes a double-zero, however orders a zero to take in where necessary (and yes, she was very thin). The woman attending to her was quick to quiet her and said that because of her height (maybe 5'6?), she had to order her a size four to make sure the torso fit correctly since she was tall and thin. Bullshit. They ordered her a four so that they could squeeze another $60 out of her for alterations.
When a member of our group called to make alterations, the woman answering the phone was very rude and snippy. Since the dresses did have to be altered, she moved forward with trying to book an appointment regardless, figuring the alterations would be even more expensive elsewhere. The woman barked that the dress would take six to eight weeks to alter (even though the wedding was in seven weeks). It's truly inconvenient that they only do alteration appointments on Sundays & Mondays -- especially when they seemingly take so long to make alterations, but that isn't as bothersome as the way this salon treats its customers.
After picking up my dress, I went to a family seamstress to have my dress altered. When I put it on, the seamstress LAUGHED. I was hugging the dress against my body pleading for her to make it work. She took in over two and a half inches on each side, over four inches from the bottom, and I will have to go again for a second fitting (keep in mind this is a bridesmaid dress -- not a wedding gown!). I'm disappointed because had they sized me correctly from the start, I wouldn't be spending an arm and leg to have my dress more-or-less remade. More than that, I'd probably have actually trusted them to make my alterations.
I'm truly disappointed in Arlene's and had high hopes, but at least I know now to not come back, and hopefully this review is helpful to someone whose considering them or has to order from them in the future.
Today, I received the worst form of customer service ever from this store. In summary, the service here is very INCONSISTENT. In early January, I visited this establishment based upon recommendations from my sister-in law, who rented tuxedos there for her wedding 4 years ago. The service in January was the complete opposite from the one I was forced to undergo today, March, 9th. I guess after my money has already been spent on the initial order (final sale, no return), excellent service goes out the window. I went to the store to have my niece begin her alterations and also to complete payment on her bridesmaid dress. The ladies who helped during the alterations were very pleasant and patient. However, when we were ready to make payment I had the audacity to question my bill and was faced with an egotistical and pompous lady by the name of "Jules", who was very RUDE and lacked basic customer service skills. I will never do business here again. Cant wait to pick up the other two dresses and will not be wearing mine. Should have listened to my mom and go to David's Bridal!
