Their website is misleading and devoid of information. They purposely post limited information to ensure that anyone not familiar with their ski area ends up paying a lot more than they should. Customer service is a joke.

I give it four stars because despite the fact that there were nice and helpful people, my sister and her boyfriend complained about one particular ski instructure. Aside from that I had a great time and I learned how to snowboard with no problem thanks to the awesome snowboard instructure.

MANAGEMENT PLEASE READ.

MANAGEMENT PLEASE READ.
First off let me say I love what you have done to the resort over the last few years. I have been coming here for 33 years now and I'm enjoying it more than ever. Your staff has been friendly and awesome!!
My only complaint is that there needs to be more courtesy patrol to either start pulling tickets or give warnings to the very out of control skiers and snowboarders. The worst I've witnessed is at the top of Humphreys. Both of my young boys and myself have been cut off and or knocked over. Please help with this problem.
Also the loud cussing music from the people with backpacks. They think everyone wants to hear their loud cuss music while standing in line.
I'd be happy to put on a vest and volunteer.

Seriously? A couple years ago I saw a billboard for Arizona Snowbowl on a Phoenix freeway that sums it up nicely, "Wouldn't you rather be standing in a lift line?" My answer is decidedly, NO! But expect to find yourself standing endlessly in lift lines while listening to lifties hollar at everybody to stay back while chair after chair goes up empty. Great place to snowboard though! Everybody who snowboards should come here, exclusively!

I have skied all over the West, - Colorado, Utah, Nevada and California. My first experience to this resort was last season March 2018. I was quite impressed. I am going again this year in February 2019. The snow was not very plentiful last year but this year looks far better. You can't really compare it to monster resorts of Tahoe, Vail, Breckenridge, Park City, Snowbird, etc.., but for the price in terms of lift tickets and lodging in Flagstaff, you cannot beat this place. The runs are fairly long and the vertical is decent. I am bringing the entire family this year. The cost is 1/3 of what I'd pay at the big resorts. If you are looking to get away for a few days and don't want to spend a fortune, this is the place. And the best part about it, it's not crowded. I wouldn't hesitate one bit.

Awesomr staff! I LOVED that they were turning sledders and snow play families away from the resort. Resorts typically get too crowded and lack parking when so many people who arnt even skiing or snowboarding take up space. Might sound harsh but its a total pain when people take up space that someone who's actually paying to ride up there can use.

It is a beautiful place to ski, snowboard, enjoy the panoramic view on the cable car, go with family and friends to enjoy quality family time. It is located a few hours from Flagstaff and it is amazing the panoramas you will get from the place. Do not forget to take warm clothes because the air is very cold. It has a large parking lot. We went on Easter and it was still snowed.

Split review. The snow and lift ops we're great on our spring break trip. I heard from another of people on the various lifts I rode that snowbowl had made some substantial upgrades to capacity. The run that I hit (primary blue and green due to a knee in rehab) we great and well groomed even after fresh snow. The some of the best runs were groomed on one side and powder was left on the other.

What needs improvement is the lodge and rental center. The line to get skis Monday was an hour and a half.

Seriously an effing HOUR AND A HALF.

My oldest daughter missed her morning lesson because we couldn't get her skis in time.

Other gripe about the lodge was that there was no room to find a table and warm up inside at lunch. Lunch was traditional mediocre and expensive ski hill food.

In summary:
Skiing, good.
Lift ops and and grooming, good.
Lodge, needs improvement.

Next trip back rent your skis elsewhere and bring your own lunch.

Excellent ski hill. The lessons for children are great. Instructors really do an excellent job. Our 4 year old Niece had a perfect day. Runs are easy, mostly blue & the lift lines move fast. #azski #skilessons #excellentcustomerservice #familyday

So... I'm a novice skiier. But even for me, this place was kind of subpar. The "lodge" is basically a big cafeteria with cafeteria food, nothing special and certainly not somewhere you'd want to relax between runs. The green runs were groomed well but the blues were pretty bad. The pro of course is that it's so close to Phoenix so it's really easy to drive up and hit the slopes. You can easily do this as a day trip.

Slow lifts, and bad catwalks that go uphill making it hard to keep up speed and causing traffic. The mountain is small but good for very causal people the parks are decent. Parking there is better now. Their main lodge should be way nicer for the prices they charge for food and drink.

The negative reviews here are by and large unfair. Granted, the Snowbowl doesn't have the amenities of Breckenridge or Vail but neither do you have to pay their exorbinate prices for lift tickets. The runs are challenging, scenery grand and the staff friendly. The comments about treated waste water show a complete misunderstanding of that process. Most of the man-made lakes in the Phoenix area contain treated waste water and the the greens are watered with it. It is not a health hazard.

Could have been 5 stars but we left Flagstaff at about 845 for the one hour trip to snowbowl and didn't get to start skiing until 1pm despite having all our equipment with us and tickets prepurchased.

I went the Wednesday between Christmas and New Years for my first visit to Snow Bowl. While the Flagstaff area was breaking high temperature records and the region was unseasonably dry, the AZ Snowbowl still had about 50% of its trails open (No Blacks but some good long Blues and Greens open), a good man-made snow base of ~ 18 inches, and a good amount of people. The rental skis performed well and I was able to obtain a half-day rental price. Unfortunately, the resort does not offer a half day lift ticket during that holiday week, even though we stated that we were only skiing a half day (~ 4 hours)...I believe they really need to offer half-day lift tickets, especially when only 50% of the trails are open. Overall a good experience for the above average skier.

Go up every year to see the fall foliage. Beautiful location. There isn't anything else to do here in the skiing off season but views & hiking, no public restrooms, no coffee shop, etc. In general the road isn't adequate for heavy traffic either in Flag or on Snow Bowl property -- often big traffic jams on little 2 lane roads.

Would give no stars if I could.. was planning on going and had bought lift ticket day before(I realize they had a 48 policy on refunds) but if something comes up and I m unable to make it I m just out for an overpriced lift ticket with no chance to get any sort of credit. Sounds like stealing if you ask me.. will never return.

First time here. Great little mountain when it has snow. Which it did this season. Would not hesitate to come back but would rent skiis and equipment off the hill. Their rental system is not very....efficient.

As a yearly customer of Snowbowl, I was very disappointed with the customer service given to us this Christmas. My family and I purchased tickets online for a lift ticket on Christmas Day but unfortunately we ran into a road closure on the I-17 due to a major roll over accident (This accident was on the news). We were stuck in traffic for over 2 hours with no signs of movement. Our GPS stated we wouldn't make it to snowbowl until 2:30pm (They close at 4PM). We immediately called Snowbowl and informed them that the road was closed and we would be unable to make it. We didn't ask for a refund, simply asked to get credit or the chance to ski the following day or any other day. To my amazement, there was "nothing they could do." The Manager, Christian, refused to help us. I can't believe Snowbowl employs a manager that cannot do a single thing for their customers. After asking to speak to someone else, Christian placed us on a 20 minute hold, only to tell us that he had "spoken to the director" and we would only be given credit for the amount purchased, valid ONLY for the following day, BUT we had to pay an extra $50.00 per lift ticket...EACH. This is absurd and to have this happen to us on Christmas day made matters worse. Definitely will not be returning and will start going to Sunrise instead.

While I cannot speak towards the chair lift or the ski/snowboarding experience, which I m told is often crowded and overwhelming; what I can speak about is how awesome doing just the hike is. You get gorgeous views of all the large peaks in the area and the hiking path is extremely well maintained! Great experience :-)

Arizona snowbowl is a very nice place if you want to get married. I attended a wedding this past weekend and event staff and the event coordinator, Lauren, we re very nice and accommodating. The ceremony and the reception take place to beautiful spots and if you re looking to get married here this is definitely the place that you want to go. Even check out a few of the photos that I posted and you will see the beauty in the event space.

We just went; I know pretty soon into the season. Snow was packed powder. Clean and beautiful. About 20 inches of snow midpoint. Had 3 lifts open. It was great early in the morning. However, it became very icy after around 1pm. I had to be extremely careful coming down steep slopes. I didn't fall so it was worth it. It was very busy first thing in the morning since it was college day (1/2 priced tickets!!! What a great deal!). Hence lots of snowboarders; oh they go down those slopes super fast. Lots of injuries that day too. I saw 3 people being carried down by ski patrol that day. Oh my god, I love skiing and it's always a good time. Especially when I don't fall!

Rode the chairlift to the top twice and the views were gorgeous. Staff was friendly and helpful answering any questions we had. Since we weren t able to get off at the top, we asked for hiking suggestions and were not disappointed. Aspen trees, pine trees, and wildflowers surrounded us as we escaped the heat in The Valley.

Great ski resort. Lines can be long at times but the staff usually handles it pretty well to get everyone boarding/skiing quickly. Food and drinks are a bit expensive so bring lunch. The powder days are AMAZING with lots of tree runs and fluff to carve through. When the runs are groomed they are as open and smooth as you could ask for. All in all a great mountain, definitely recommend.

You'd never know you weren't in Colorado or some other typical ski destination but you're 2 hours from PHOENIX. The slopes and chairs are great. It can get really crowded at the slopes and in town. Be prepared for a pretty good hike from the parking lot to the base of the slopes. The restaurants aren't great or fast but the employees are friendly and helpful. If you've got kids, getting information on ski school can be really difficult because they NEVER answer the phone and they don't have VM so you may have to make a gamble if you can't get them on the phone for reservations. Be prepared for additional traffic in town and on the drive up from Phoenix. Lots of wrecks on I-17 and the 2.5 hour drive can turn into 4.5 hours easily.

Snowbowl has become a whole new mountain over the last 3 years. With new lifts, lines are much shorter and less common. The snowmaking capability has made the snow much more consistent. If you can catch a snowy or bluebird day here, you'll have a blast!! The food could use improvement, but a packed lunch can fix that. Wind can shut down lifts which can make lines longer, so watch the forecast and check Snowbowl's website to see which lifts are operating the day before you go. I generally get a season pass here, and the mountain collective pass, with which I visit 3-4 other resorts every year. Every year, Snowbowl surprises me by being one of my top days of the season. If you can ride trees, and like to explore, Snowbowl is hard to beat if you're traveling from Phoenix.

I just wish they would build a lift to access the upper bowl!!
