Great destination to find some sort of adventure from the parking lot
We did a hike there during the middle of October. We were there for the leaves change color. They are currently doing construction to widen the lower parking area. The weather was great and the people that we met were friendly.
Great hiking. Live band at bar/restaurant and ski lift is open for sightseeing. Perfect summer temperature.
Best Ski resort in Arizona....Sunset park at SB is better than the entire Sunrise resort
They aren't letting you off of the lift at the top! Mega line. Be prepared to wait in the sun for hours. Total ripoff and even worse that they lied about the ride over the phone (called same day). 2 passengers every fourth lift chair. There is a reason they require prepurchase of tickets.
Great early season snow. Very friendly staff, ticket window and lift attendants were super friendly and a lot of fun. Only complaint I have is that after nearly three feet of fresh snow in the prior 5 days, management (or whoever) still had them running only one lift and one run open. There was plenty of terrain with good cover still roped off. They've opened two more runs since then, with no new snowfall...
New chair lift is much needed. What a great addition.
Had a blast skiing the runs are great they do a great job with very little snow no lift lines whatsoever but renting ski equipment there is a nightmare the whole area and locker room area is way too small for the number of people in there trying to use it it's smarter to rent from a place in town so you don't have to deal with the hassle of being in a line for up to an hour to get your skis
I took my son to Snowbowl on December 30th, 2017. The machine made snow allowed enough runs to be open that we both had a great time. We both took the lessons in the morning together. Seth was our instructor. Seth was patient and fantastic with all nine people who were in our class. Thank you Seth, for providing the foundation my son needed for safe and fun skiing. We will definitely be returning to Snowbowl.
All interactions we had with staff were positive, from the rentals area, the staff working the slopes and lifts, and the shop staff.
Thank you for the memories!
Gets crowded in the mornings due to the influx of people from Phoenix. Wait lines on good crowded days for the GCX lift and Agassiz can be ~10-15 minutes. They could put in more lifts, but it's pretty good on customer service
This place is poorly managed with long lines and very little options for ski school if your kids are older than 8. We came early enough to make their 10 am time but due to their lack of staff we did not make it through their line in time. We were then told that there are no other ski lessons available. They are only in business because Arizona has so few options. What a sorry excuse for a ski resort.
No snow, but manufactured enough for 3 lifts. It was an enjoyable day. Their ski school program is great.
Grat, beautiful, ice cream haha, good prices I think ... only they should have an area for children, because if they are small they do not know how to ski, at least something where they can slip or play, because it is more for adults. Just in case you take children on the trip.
Havent been here in 10 years, finally made the drive up and spent 79 dollars for barely 1/4 of the mountain open, should have had discounted rates but other then that, staff is very rude, I asked prices on things at the bar and ticket booth and they reiterate how expensive it is because its a mountain town... dont think I'll be back soon!!!
Snowball can be a lot of fun for a day or two but avoid this place on holidays/ busy saturdays. We were told no driving up to the resort, we must take a shuttle up and down from a parking lot at the bottom of the mtn. The way down at 4pm was a 30 minute wait and then a 2 hour shuttle ride to our car to go 5 miles. The small road can't handle crowds.
Had a great time with my young son. We started up Humphreys trail, had a great adventure. Made it in just before storm hit. Great place for hiking and amazing views. Look forward to doing some serious trail running here at a later date.
Fun place to visit in the summer or winter. All sorts of recreational activities in the various seasons.
An amazing place quite fun beautiful mountain with snow highly recommended
Great time, the staff makes it a blast they are super helpful and friendly. The slips were kind of beat up but still a blast!
Great! Had 72 slopes and was not very packed. There was also a wide variety of slopes for different levels from a very small hill with little to no slope, to a 5 mile long black diamond slope. The only complaint I have is to have signs of a lift is down. I had gone up this one lift that has a midpoint that exits on a blue slope (medium difficulty) but as we approached the halfway point it had said closed and just went right over it. From this point up, the only way down was a black diamond slope (the most difficult). There was no sign indicating that this midway point was closed so me being an intermediate skier was forced to go down a slope only meant for experts.
Beautiful views of the fall foliage from the chairlift. However, be forewarned that even though I called before immediately prior to driving in from Phoenix that I was then told when we got there that they had to stop accepting riders for the day because the line was so long. Luckily for us, we waited around until the end of the day and a gentleman fit us on standby, but it was frustrating to know that I took the cautious approach to call ahead of time and still almost missed out on the chairlift that day. Arrive early is my tip!
It's a great place to snowboard for a day trip. If you plan on eating there .. Well it would be cheaper to Fly to Tahoe eat and fly back to AZ than eat at SnowBowl and they food to terrible
Beautiful place to enjoy weather in autumn season and winter time excellent to snow boarding
One star for poor customer service in not answering their phones and website that is not easy to navigate and make family reservations. This past winter reservations were so hard I was ready to go to sunrise. Today I'm in Flagstaff and just wanted to find out if the chair is shut down due to wind. I called chose option 3 for chair status and no such luck. Nice place but man up the little things that make it nice for your customers.
Here 20 Jan. Snowing now.. I like this place.
Easy to get to and friendly staff. It s not Utah or Colorado skiing but that s an unfair comparison. Base is 9,300 ft so with a decent storm, you get pretty good powder over the man made stuff. Just keep an eye on the snow storm.
No real discounts in early season but coming from 78 deg Tucson, I m not complaining. Best deals are the $ 29.00 Spring Ticket or $39.00 with equipment. Brought my kids 4 times last season and had a fantastic time. Hoping to do the same this year.
The new Grand Canyon lift helps with congestion. When the snow is good and the crowds are low, this is a great resort. Customer service is ok.
puppet! this place! Great slopes for people with all levels of experience. The food and drinks at the lodge are great and reasonably priced. Free lift tickets on your birthday, and lots of other specials!
Horrible business practices neglecting local cultural climate
Fun but there has only been 1.5 feet of snow this year 2017-18 so it's "groomed" (ice that is pulverized in the mornings) trails. It might be more difficult to ski/board in for beginners.
Great except on Christmas day one of the lifts closed for 40 mins while I was on it and 'had to go'. They did get us a free drink ticket which was nice but still. 4 stars will come back just hope they can keep the lifts open ahah
Much better since they started making their own snow. Staff friendly. Meals expensive, but about average for a ski resort. Beer selection is usually really good, but sometimes the lines are long. New lifts are nice and wait time is not too bad. My only complaint is the bathrooms could be cleaner and much bigger for the crowd. I usually have a good time here, but a bad day skiing is better than a good day working...
Passed are cheap if you get them online, good snow for AZ.
Had a great time with my wife. This was my fist time experience Skiing. Our trainers were amazing. They have really given their best shot in having us learn and have a good time at Skiing. The Parking lot is good enough, Renting the equipment process was little hurdle especially when its crowded.
