Best decision I ever made sending my daughter here...

Best decision I ever made sending my daughter here, she has learned so much and everyone is so nice and cares about their education. For your daughters education and for everything they provide for your children, it is 100% worth the price and time at St Clare's. If you are considering sending your daughter here, do it. You will not regret it.

Daughter went there for four years and she did everything for the school and the school did nothing. Teachers are rude. We had her application in since year 2 and it was a much better school back when the nuns were running it. Now its gone down the drain. We're never coming back!

I love this school! Most of the girls are so kind and caring, I have found a great group of friends for life. I have been given so many opportunities, especially in STEM. We participate in a range of awesome projects (last year we planned a trip to mars) I was also given the opportunity to fly over to America to visit NASA. The teachers are amazing, they know when to be strict and when to be fun. Many people discriminate against the teachers for bullying students but I haven't had any problems myself, I also haven't witnessed or heard of any of these events. I am in year 8 this year and I plan to stay here until I graduate, there is a large range of electives that cover so many skills for life.

When checking many of the five star reviews for this school, I noticed that many of those accounts had made one other review for another school, Randwick girls. And these were all one-star reviews, making horrible claims and making the school look bad in general, while also praising the move to a catholic school. Now I'm not hating on the catholic school system, but you can SEE for yourself that this school is trying to make another look bad in attempt to raise its own reputation. It says so much about the attitudes of some catholic schools and their students and this should definitely be looked into because it is NOT ok.

The teachers are rude to students, Teachers always have favourites and it shows. They are so strict around jewlrey the length of your dress, if you have eyelashes on, the length of your socks etc. its so much easier to slack down the uniform so kids can focus on school work instead of the length of there nun dress.

All the teachers here are incredible and the students in every lesson are respectful and are able to work in a beautiful environment. I absolutely love it here at St Clares and wouldn't go anywhere else.

I am a local teacher. I have taught in almost every Eastern Suburbs high school.
I ve also been a student in 2 local high schools and now currently have 3 daughters attending local high schools.

I love St Clares!
I love everything about it.
It s a shame the nuns have now gone, they did show a different perspective.
However the school is still fabulous.
The 2018 HSC results are amazing, beating every other local school.

The teachers are so supportive, they genuinely care. The teaching is fantastic. The girls themselves always look so smart, they are polite and carry themselves so well.

I have nothing negative to say.
It s a great little school, that produces well rounded girls.

St Clare's is a negative and mentally damaging enviornnent. I am a past student. Teachers do not teach. They give you text books and do not have any input in your education. And when you ask for help they embarrass you and make you feel incompetent. Teachers gossip with students and from classroom "cliques". From this teachers discuss (with students): grades of other students, discuss grooming of other students and personal information about students. Teachers are verbally abusive towards students. And do bully students. If you ever have your child telling you, that their teacher is targeting/picking on them, PLEASE take it seriously. St Clare's protect their teachers and tell lies for one another to save the reputation of the school as a whole. I witnessed teachers disrespect and shame students on scholarships. Eg. An Aboriginal girl was on an Aboriginal Scholarship, she did not attend class for roughly 2 weeks (for personal reasons). The Teacher approached my classmate in front of our whole class and said to her, "we all pay taxes for you to be able to go to this school, because you can't afford it. So stop wasting our money and get your attendance up". My classmate was embarrassed and extremely upset. And removed herself from her class. There were no implications for the teacher. The teachers excuse was she broke up with her boyfriend and was distressed. Pathetic. These people are meant to educate and inspire us to change ourselves into woman and change the world. Do not send your girls to St Clares! The teachers are bullies and they disgrace everything that St Clare's is supposed to stand for.

An absolutely terrible school, where the teachers bully and intimidate the girls and show no respect. They hardly teach its all textbooks and laptops. There are no facilities, limited opportunities - do not waste your money and time sending your child here, please.

Terrible school, focus placed on dress code and "staying away from boys" rather than an actual education. The staff are most of the time very rude and not understanding, who needs supportive teachers and principal when you can have chapel! Thanks for a depressing, mentally decapitating experience, the only time I'll be thanking God is that I was able to leave.

Don't be impressed by the good 2018 HSC results There are a couple of good teachers but the rest were absent most of the year. If a school cant get teachers to attend, how can they manage a school. 'These results are due to the hard working students and their private tutors
They take the girls to church and even though 12 girls fainted one day the principal and deputy principal still argue about if they have to wear blazers to church on a hot day. I had to literally complain in writing so my daughter could drink water outside the church. The teacher said it was disrespectful to do so.
If you ever dare to complain or ask a question your child will be bullied to no end.
Mrs Kerrie McDiarmid the deputy principal can often be found yelling in the halls. Even when she has mistakenly yelled at a student she will not apologise. There was an incident where she was yelling that the students accessed an area they were not supposed to according to an email - an email the school never sent out because the admin staff never do their job. There are many more incidents like this.
Speak to some parents from previous years before you waste money and send your kid here. Let them tell you about emails that go unanswered for over a year, about charges that are made for digital textbooks that were never provided. About non-existent IT support but worst of all the bullying your child will go through from staff if you dare complain.
The acting Director of Learning Mr Maoudis is a poor excuse of an educator. He has hosted many of the information events for parents and always emphasised about how students will constantly receive feedback to improve. This never happened. When I asked him about it, his answer was: "Can you imagine if I had to take 40 essays home to correct?". Getting feedback from some teachers took a lot of effort and a written complaint. MR Maoudis insisted I talk to him on the phone before making an appointment to ask about this. Turns out they are too busy to take appointments. A strategy followed mostly by the principal, Mrs Antoinette McGahan avoid contact with parents where possible.
