Changed brake pads + rotors, as well as engine and cabin air filters. Fast, professional, kept me updated the entire time.

We received excellent service here. It was easy to make an appointment and the technicians were ready to work on our vehicle immediately after we arrived. We received text messages on how the work was progressing and we were contacted when it was ready for pick up. The total time for our repair was appropriate and the service provided was performed well. We will definitely choose to go to Stress-Free Auto Care again in the future.

Fantastic service. My fan belt had died and they helped the car into the garage, ordered the part and I got my car back same day.

Introduction of text updates and phone payment made it quite efficient. Also the status print out showed extra use of computer which made it more useful

We can here for a smog and for the most part everything was good. A couple of pretty major flaws in my book though:

1. When my car is ready, call me. Just like another reviewer experienced, they let my car sit there all day completed but failed to call & notify me. When I called to ask the status (after much holding on the line - there's a lot of this) they seemed to take the position of, "well aren't you going to come pick it up?, we close at 5:30pm." Had I KNOWN my car was done, I would have GLADLY had it back HOURS ago.

2. Rudeness on the phone. Yes, they are mechanics but being that you interface with customers you SHOULD have some ability to speak to people and a reasonable sense of etiquette; that is IF you want them to come back.

In all fairness I was happy with the work completed and they were informative and patient with me & my questions. I would gladly bring me vehicle back here for service (and probably will) in the future.

Prices were MORE than reasonable, especially considering they're in MENLO PARK.

The experience over the phone and coming in was excellent and exceptionaly honesty.

I took my car in after getting recommendations and reading great reviews. This is a trustworthy, honest place where customer safety is their top priority.

Needed a battery, got one quick, at a reasonable price.

I was apprehensive about going to this business, after the change of control from Planet Auto. I've gone to Planet Auto for years and never had to worry about getting anything less than excellent service, or ever getting ripped off. So I was nervous about going to Stress-Free Auto after they bought Planet auto. Fortunately, my experience was excellent. The work was timely and the prices were reasonable. There were some nice upgrades to the shop, and the technology, which gave me text updates on how things were going. So I will miss Clay TERRIBLY, but I think I'll stick with Stress-Free as long as they keep up the good work.

Got my Corolla 09 flat repaired here. Cost $90 for a new tire which I found reasonable.

I needed to get a mirror replaced and the service was fast and friendly and cheap! Would definitely go back for future repairs.

Previously Planet Auto which I used for over 15 years. I was not sure about the new owners but the experience was amazing. From the first phone call to pick, the customer service was friendly and professional. They serviced my my Honda and I will be bringing my other car here shortly. I highly recommend Stress Free Auto!

Such a great experience! Made my appointment online which got me $10 off, then once I dropped it off got a video link to them working on my car and pictures of the parts that needed attention immediately and in the future. So courteous and very clean with everyone wearing masks. I highly recommend!

Great mechanic shop to go to. Had some some suspension issues and wasn't charged an overly high price like most other places and their work is good quality. When trouble hits the car again I know who to call!

WOW. I've been going to Planet Auto (now Stress-Free Auto Care) for years and I couldn't be happier with their newest improvements. After scheduling an appointment online, I was pleasantly surprised on the day of service The entire building has been remodeled, they kept all the existing mechanics, and overall super impressed with the improvements! Keep up the great work!!

Great service. I had my car there for an hour while they determined why my AC wasn't working. They did everything for free, which was incredibly nice!

Unreliable, dishonest and not responsible. Wouldn t recommend any business here.
An employee that worked here sold us a vehicle he claimed was his own, not even 50 feet from the shop to the owner full awareness at the time, on a week day, during business hours, wearing the shops uniform and name tag, claimed and used the shop as leverage for work being done on the vehicle and future reliability for any concerns we had. I helped my friend choose and purchase the vehicle. Later to find out it wasn't in the employee's name, later having the engine cease not even 500 miles within 2 days of purchase.
The employee and shop owner did not want to hear about the event or meet to discuss, they stated it had nothing to do with the shop and was sold as is.
I rather only leave positive reviews as all my other ones. Instead, I edited my review to elaborate on the case as the owner decided to make it appear as if my review bogus.
I will delete this review and communicate with Hannah to delete hers and turn it positive if he takes responsibility and refunds the lemon which was sold 50 feet away from his shop by his employee at the time while he knew about it(negative reviews are rather contagious I want to believe).
It is further dishonest for this shop owner to state he knows nothing about this transaction, maybe now he remembers.

Otherwise, be happy and good luck with business.

Great people, nice staff. I had a couple of minor works and they did it for me free of charge.

My family has been taking our cars to Planet Auto for years and can only say good things about the service and people. Stress free is certainly right. I think of the team there like trusted friends I can ask car advice from vs a service shop. Highly recommend!!

My check engine light came on in Menlo Park during covid right before my car died on me in a parking lot, and honestly I felt really stuck. I live in Oakland, and I wasn't sure where nearby would be able to help quickly and affordably. I hopped on yelp, and Stress-Free auto popped up as not too far. I called to make sure they had time for me mid afternoon, and Rhett picked up the phone right away and was very courteous and kind saying they did.

I got my car towed there and they immediately checked it in and made sure I knew how they would be assisting me. They diagnosed the issue right away, it was sensor related, and worked to get the parts needed ASAP. Unfortunately, they wouldn't be available till the next morning.

They did a full work up for me the next morning while replacing the sensors, and gave me an extremely detailed report with pictures. They ended up giving me a very precise time-frame of how quickly they could prepare my vehicle with the other issues that needed addressing, and it was absolutely spot on and I was able to get my car before closing.

They give you real time updates through text that you can respond to with questions, and are very easy to reach. Rhett helped me a lot at the front desk, and all of the other staff were incredibly helpful and efficient.

I can't recommend this place enough, they fixed my car for a fair price, and did it in a very small time frame of about 30 hours, and got my car back to me before a holiday weekend. A huge thanks to them all, and if you're stuck and in need of help, come here!

Dishonest and shady business.

Louis, a confident and outgoing employee here stepped out of the shop and sold me a car on the side while using his reputation as a mechanic in the neighborhood as leverage for me to trust that the car was sound as he was saying, urging me to buy it on the spot.
I checked all the fluids when I bought it then drove the car for two days and the engine seized from running out of oil without any warning lights.. Louis had said his friend had just done extensive engine work when i bought it.
When I informed him of what happened he was defensive and yelling and was not going to do anything for me. Going so far as to say he s been selling cars like this and he is going to continue doing whatever he wants..
the title wasn't even in his name even though he said he had used it as his personal car for 8 months. For all I know it was a customer s car who couldn t pay him.

Don t waste your money. Go to another mechanic spot.
(Added after owner response to being a gang comment) owner seems to respond with every 1 rating that it must be a gang or from an ex employee. How about you take responsibility for your shop and change things in your shop so that you don t get 1 ratings. Instead of trying to get ratings erased. And to answer your question- my experience was rude and a waste of my time as you tried selling my unnecessary fixes. Shady

Went in to get some rusted screws removed from my back license plate. They took it in immediately, removed the screws and put on my new license plate on the house. Great group of people and great service. Will definitely come back!

LOVE. Love, Love this place! They always repair my cars in a timely & cost effective manner AND give me a ride to work! But the true testimony to their integrity is the extra mile they go when there's no money to be made. Last month my daughter's car broke down in Arizona & Clay helped me judge whether she was getting good advice from the mechanic in Phoenix (she was, thank goodness) which really put my mind at ease. Then today he was happy to help me in my decision about which auto body shop to choose when my car was rear ended and needed an insurance estimate & repair work. Having a mechanic you can truly trust is a Godsend!

I live in Oregon and was taking possession of an old family Volvo. The car needed assessment before the drive north. When I called the week prior, another local shop could not be bothered. The kind folks at Planet knew what I wanted, set the appointment, and confirmed by email immediately. (You will get email and text notifications for everything...)

Got there the following week and was expected. They got the car inspected quickly, identified needed parts and then gave me an estimate and time frame. Hung tight to all all of it.

I knew what was going on all the time as the text notifications came through at each step. If they come to Portland, I am certain to be a customer.

Great service at Stress-Free Auto Care (Planet Auto)! I was surprised to see the change of name and ownership at Planet Auto, now Stress-Free Auto Care down the road from Safeway on El Camino. My car's maintenance was still on file so the mechanic had past history. I really enjoyed the new system that sends alerts to my phone as my car is being worked on, including a link to a clear inspection report with photos. It made repair decisions much easier. They also have lockers for car keys for after hours. Roberto is very personable, answered all my questions, and gave me two estimates on the fly for separate repairs. Very transparent system, and great service. Loved it!

Needed a new battery and a $2 part for my 25 year old car. They had me out in 15 min with the battery. Came back 1 hr later for my special order part-out in 5. Fast and friendly for my emergency repair.

I have been using Planet Auto for years, and I always have a great experience. They don't nickel and dime you, and they are very reasonably priced. They are honest and I trust their judgment completely. I now live 30 minutes north, but I still drive down to them for service and oil changes.

Did a walk in, got serviced then and there. Real easy to talk to, straight to the point. Honest price and just an all around great atmosphere. Greatly recommend

These guys were awesome! I called just about 5 minutes beforehand about a headlight. They said they d take a look. Twenty minutes after that, the headlight was replaced! Easiest car-problem solution ever!

Clay, the first person you talk with most of the time, is honest, has amazing expertise, and takes time with each customer to explain issues and work with you in terms of ride to work, or any other way he can help. Top notch auto repair and maintenance, old school honest appraisal and work, and consistent best customer service. Thankful for this resource and the people here.
