I refused to let a youth go into their "Safe Haven" house when I saw what the outside of the place looked like. I cringed to imagine what the inside had to offer. Their service center on Mississippi, where the youth aren't housed, looks awesome....and that was where I thought the youth would be staying. The nice pictures of the service center on the web makes it very misleading. That Safe Haven house needs some serious attention and fast!
Didnt like the services i was put back out on the street after many people saying that i have ROP which transitional housing... I thought they was supposed to housed you into a transitional shelter or whatever the case maybe... So the services a big No No. I wouldnt reccommend it all i had 2 jobs and still was school there but i guess that didnt fit what they want me to do... They like controlling your life and people you meet outside of that company i had a person who supported me through everything and they didnt like him because he was older than me and homeless too who couldn't take care of... There were 2 staff memebers who were very inappropriate as far as the females concern in a sexual way instead of firing him they promoted him...
This place helped me when I was in need the most. I wishc I could pay all the help and kindness they showed towards me. They have my full support and I advice people to learn what it is they do and the goals they set! I hope everyone donates to their cause and helps promote their promise in helping homeless youth!!!!
The Covenant House Is A Very Good Resource & Help For Young & Older Youth Whom Is Struggling Or Whom Has Lost Track & Need Help With Getting Back On Track With Life Experiences Such As Education, Housing & Work. I Recommend, If You Need Help & Your With In The Location Then, GoTo The Covenant House.. No The Whole Program & Staff Members Isn't Fully Perfect But What Program Or Person Is, So Give Covenant House A Try.
Covenant House Washington has helped me a lot by helping me obtain my GED/ High School Diploma, helping me seek employment, and providing me with housing when i was a homeless youth. Everybody on the Covenant House staff treats you like family, it's one of the places where nobody judges you, and it's a place where you can feel comfortable in achieving your dreams and goals.
Do not listen to the negative reviews. I personally went through the program and lived in their shelter. They take care of you as long as you stay on task. They do not require you to do much bc it is an adult program. The staff are kind and caring. Every single one

Were able to take in a family member on very short notice. Helped him have temporary shelter and gave him initial assistance.
The shelter housing "safehaven" is disgusting and need a update on everything, they have bed bugs, and most of the staff are sexually frustrated and old they have another program called ROP if your not good enough to get in they'll just let you waste your time at safe haven, they need to let people know they have a image to uphold and if you don't fit that image they won't tell you they will just find everything that your doing right, wrong smh.....But the covenant house program and the things they offer you other than housing is good

The housing programs are terrible you end up back on the street they dont help you to get stable housing !
Great place for the youth, fast helping all my adult children with jobs, clothes and housing.
