Archstone is one of the better rehab communities in the east valley. I've been working with Robert the Case Manager for a few months and he is always pleasant and makes time to touch base with me. Adam their Marketer is a wonderful addition to the team and his heart is in the right place. His main priority is everyone who does a bout there walks away with nothing but the best experience. If you have concerns he has an open door and will make sure your concerns are addressed immediately.

Hi. My grandmother went in COVID-free, with a negative test from the hospital. Still forced to quarantine for two weeks. She tested positive at the end of her quarantine. Case worker put her here despite the only requirement was that she be placed in a facility without COVID positive patients. She said she could see the plastic barrier to the COVID ward from her bed. These people aren't careful enough. My grandmother also mentioned that the staff weren t very kind or caring for her.

Out of all the places I have worked in my 24yr career, archstone is bar none, the best !!!! The staff are like my 2nd family. Despite our census at Christmas, Allen, our administrator still cared enough to give all of his employees a Christmas bonus. We have an awesome bunch of people here, many team players, who come together to ensure that our patients and their families are cared for and satisfied. Our DON is firm but fair, not only have I come to like her, I have learned alot from her. Each facility has their pros and cons and set of problems, however archstone's pros out weigh the cons.

My Granny is here. The staff is very rude. The refuse to bring her to the phone when I call. Everytime I call she is in bed, even at meal times, it is as though they never bother to get her ready for the day. Half of them don't speak English well enough to understand her needs...I would recommend checking out other places, if it was up to me, I would move her elsewhere.

The staff, for the most part, are more than amazing, residents are just wonderful.
5 stars for them both, but they just cannot make up for the bad food.

The low review is because of the food (zero out of 5 stars). It is so, so disappointing that a care center feeds their residents the horrible (starchy) food that they do. I think that management needs to eat the food daily for one week and see if they could stomach it. Actually, I would love to see the whole staff also try the food and rate it themselves. The residents need and deserve to be fed healthy meals (period). It is not cheap to live there and the cost should cover decent food. There is no way to build strength if they can't eat most the food.

The cleanliness is questionable too since I have had to request numerous times for the room to be cleaned, as well as the bathroom needing to be cleaned. Not once have I noticed that the bed table and side table were wiped off. I have to clean them myself, which is fine, but I wonder about the residents who may not have family coming by often. I was told housekeeping is scheduled to clean 1-2 per day!!! Since I visit often (almost every day), I know that is not the case! I clean up probably 4 out 5 times.

I am writing this in hopes that the owners or management will look into these issues.

Everytime I walk in this place to visit, it smells like feces and old urine. I have to ask the staff to come in and clean the place out for my grandmother. I'm disappointed with the hygiene standards to say the least.

The staff and nurses are great and attentive. My mom had a reaction to her Chemo therapy and she loss her mobility skills overnight. She was transferred from the hospital to archstone for daily therapy. When my mom entered the facility she could barely move or feed herself. The staff and nurses on duty did not hesitate to assist and make her comfortable. The therapy sessions were awesome and consistent on Monday - Friday. The doctors checked in 2 to 3 times a week and provided great advice regarding her swelling and she got well and moving within two weeks. I would recommend this facility.

My Dad was admitted approx a month ago to Archstone. My father has been in some horrendous facilities. I have learned to ask questions, have open communication with staff, and help them whenever I can. First off Adam in admissions is very accommodating and he really seems to be improving the facility. I have loved the therapists and everyone I have reacted with. I had one issue with a particular nurse and it was addressed. The facility is clean and they are remodeling, the dining area and gardens are beautiful. The activity director Lindsey is phenomenal! I am there the majority of the day and see everyone working hard. The CNA's really try to accommodate and the nurses seem very competent. I think it does not deserve such a low rating. I would recommend one thing to administration, hire more CNA's to avoid burnout. They have the toughest job of all! A big thank you to Rachael the NP who personally called me to answer my questions at night after returning from a trip. Also Dr Ayela is great and personable! All around an up and coming facility!

Over all this place has to The #1 facility I ve ever toured. My mother had planned to go there, unfortunately she passed just a few short weeks ago. This facility cares about their patients.

Have to say, the comment regarding the facility smelling is absolutely absurd. This facility, compared to the sorrounding ones, is #1. Upon admission to Archstone, we had a few snags, Adam in admissions made himself available 24/7 just in the case we had concerns. We called him at 2am, he answered as his cheery self. He addressed our concern, which wasnt a small one. He fixed it immediately. Archstone is Family Owned and Operated, and we consider ourselves part of Archstones family. Thank you to Adam, Nursing Staff, and everyone else at Archstone.

How this place gets anyone review over a single st...

How this place gets anyone review over a single star is anyone s guess! My loved one is here for short term rehab and discharge can t come fast enough. I m detailing the lowest of the low points here to hopefully save you the trouble of coming here:

Facility: It appears modern on fast glance but don t be fooled. Horribly functioning window AC units in each room. Tiny televisions way too small for many elderly to truly see well (think the size you see on an airplane headrest), and the two in the room here are staticky beyond easy viewing. The channel lineup is pitifully slim and even 1/5 of those don t function. Insect spraying was happening while I was there so that was a treat. And the bedding is very poor and ragged. Plus the smell in the halls at night is strong. I never noticed how bad in the daytime. The one bright spot is the patio area is lovely.

Therapy: I ve come by for about half of the therapy sessions so far. I ve had 4 other relatives in skilled nursing at other facilities in the last 2 years and this one is the WORST. Unskilled therapists who seem to hate their job. They don t watch therapy. They put the patients to work and turn their back to do other things. The biggest distraction? Employee chatter and gossip, while they should be working with residents. I watched one gentleman seated in a chair squeezing a ball in one hand for 10 straight minutes while his therapist and a female co-worker discussed weekend plans. He eventually directed to switch hand and kept right on yakking. Another resident was set onto a stationary bike and left go the entire session. I ve yet to see any occupational therapy, and was told there would be speech therapy, but then told they lack a regular speech therapist, so that s been a no. All you will get is PT, and it s horrible.

Staff: I ve so far only spoken with a total of 2 RN s I felt were caring in their job, a few aides have been pleasant and attentive. I ve also met several in our short time so far who have been rude. I ve sat in room while waiting on the call button. Waiting. Waiting. Waiting. Once it was realized family was present they jumped to work, but short of that they left it sit.

Food: Food must be where administration is cutting costs because it s abominable. Literally the worst of any facility I ve seen. Starchy and sugar laden to put it mildly. Pancakes, waffles, potatoes, bread, crackers, more potatoes, these are the primary food staples. Portions are skimpy but the quality is something Archstone should be ashamed of. It s awful tasting. Everything is instant, prepackaged, and like I said, full of sugar. My diabetic relative needs an alternative, which administration said wasn t a problem when we toured. Administration must be in the total dark. Alternatives brought as a diabetic diet include as one shocking example: a plate with mashed potatoes and gravy, some type of pasta, and a vegetable. Plus cake for dessert? No protein whatsoever. And allegedly nothing more suitable available except a PB&J sandwich. This is not a diabetic dinner! Breakfast for a diabetic was Belgian waffle and syrup? Not on your life!

Administration: Non existent. Not helpful. Highly un knowledgeable.

Facility physicians: Surlrisingly poor. Not able to speak with them. No communication. Awful. Awful.

In short, please seek out another facility.

My mother has had 2 stays at this facility (both on shirt stay). I am writing this review averaging both stays.
The staff and facility are pretty good. Communication i will rate as 5 as they will communicate with you as soon as they can and always answer your questions. 4 for the facility, looks cozy but still has a vibe of hospital but that s normal. My mother rates the physical therapy as 5 . However, she checked in negative Covid, and right before discharge she tested positive and was quarantined. I would have no hesitation to admit my mom at Archstone if she would need to go again in the future. They are good people and try hard. That s what makes the difference from other facilities. A thank you to Karen, Carlee and Robert. They go above and beyond. Thank you and I hope this review helps you make a decision.

As the former Director of Admissions at Archstone Care Center, I can publicly say that this facility without a doubt has some of the best bedside nurses, aides and social services in the valley. Allen Dunlap whom is the administrator had done absolute wonders for the facility, and continues to do so each day. Amanda, whom runs Social Services is a advocate for all of the patients, so be rest assured they are taken care of. Go and tour Archstone, it really was my family. It s worth having it be apart of yours.

The quick comment is that although my 93 yr old mom is ready to return to assisted living instead we choose to keep her at Archstone for continued rehab therapy another week or two.
This is our 2nd stay here after the frustration of enduing 4 other low quality SNF's in the past
Excellence starts at the top with Adam Rhead not only being extremely helpful with admissions but his continued monitoring and care adjustments are deeply appreciated
Susan Washington has been a wizard negotiating the complex Medicare and secondary insurance maze.
Vicki, a CNA, has heart and empathy and cares for each patient as if they were her own relative.
Charlotte always has the answers to my questions regarding progress and daily goals being met plus continually offering positive suggestions.
Mom LOVES the hot and interesting meals served each day in a timely manner. (go elsewhere to learn how annoying lack of good dining service can be)
Many more of the staff are more than friendly and always greet me with a "hi Bob" and usually have something to say about my mom or the activities here.
If you have doubts from reading a "bad review" understand all of us have a "bad day" and in fact when I had a misunderstanding regarding the towel inventory in the room, Adam was quick to resolve it.
So bottom line I personally encourage you to visit an outstanding & affordable facility before making any final decisions

This center takes incredible care and their attention to detail is top notch. All the employees are super friendly especially Adam in marketing who is always such a gentleman when we see him!

My father in law was 96 with a broken femur and hip when he arrived at Archstone. From our first visit with Adam we felt it was the right place for dad and they did not disappoint. The staff, including Ray, George, Paula and MANY more were awesome with dad. They were attentive, kind and patient and they seemed to genuinely care about dad and his comfort. The staff were all patient with me with whenever I asked questions, which was almost everyday dad was with them. The facility is very nice and it is CLEAN. Dad passed away and they continued to be sensitive to our needs. We appreciate the Archstone administration and staff for all they have done for dad and our family.

A relative was recently admitted to this facility, contacted Adam in admissions, he took care of absolutely everything! The facility is absolutely beautiful, and perfect location! The therapists are beyond knowledgeable in their trade, Nursing staff are VERY PERCISE, knowledgeable and gentle hearted. We also read the reviews about this facility and we weren t even going to consider. We then viewed other facilities in the area and Archstone is the #1

Smells and everyone is standing around talking and laughing. And you could hear someone screaming for help. Only one nurse going around. Really need to get family member out of this place. I m so glad I was able to take my father out of this place. He was late to one of his appointments and gave the wrong number for transportation. And next day he had another appointment they never took him there and we have to pay a $100.00 cancellation fee for not being there. I called and no one had called for he to get transportation. Had to reschedule, I transfer him to better location.

I saw that this home had a lower rating. I kept on reading the reviews on how the admission process was easy, always available etc. I have to be completely honest. I pulled my father out of this home, not due to their care, or services. Adam was there for me and my family beyond belief, bent over backwards to make sure everything was okay . The nurses seem a little green, but they know what they are doing. Our family just wasn t ready to my father in a facility. When we are, he ll go directly back to Archstone .
