This was the first time I've been here and it's honestly amazing. There is a huge variety of plants. The care they're tend with is obvious. I'm looking forward to coming back multiple times to see the different blooms as the seasons progress. There are a lot of little areas to sit at and a few water features to enjoy. There's also an area for gatherings--there was a wedding that was set up when we arrived today. The hardscaping is very well done and was an added pleasure.

Map is misleading. It's a classical concert evening but cannot hear most of the acoustic music, especially flute, because of conversations and yelling children and dodging bicycles. Gardens obviously planted just today. Sun is setting directly into the eyes of the concert audience. Pleasant temperature. OK if you like crowds.

I LOVE the Arboretum. It's a little pocket of peace, purity, and nature in an otherwise crowded college town. The Arboretum has an abundance and a vast assortment of different types of trees, flowers, fruits, vegetables, and pretty much any other type of plant you can think of. It's tended to extremely well, and I've never seen a dying plant there. Everything is always in bloom and beautiful, and the decorations and organization are beautiful. It's one of my favorite places to go on a warm, sunny day, and a wonderful picnic spot!

Absolutely beautiful, and an awesome free place to bring kids! They have water play and sand play areas, so be sure to dress accordingly. Lots of morning programs for kids too, like origami and other little crafts. Yoga on Tuesdays, too, which is adorable. One of our favorite places around!

Very nice and charming place, an oasis in the making. Kids loved the children garden, where they were able to play different music instruments. The cave especially impressed them. A lot of quite corners where one can sit and relax, read a book, meditate. Clean toilet was a plus too.

Even though fall temperatures are scattering leaves and taking colorful blooms from our gardens, this special place at Penn State continues to show it's beauty. Should be amazing come spring when warmer temperatures will again find their way to State College, PA and the Penn State University Park campus. Looking forward to seeing what beauty this place offers come March, April, and May.

A large open area wooded park with manicured lawns and carefully landscaped segments, each with different themes and attractions. The children's section has several charming and well thought out parts that are easy for all ages to use and offer an enjoyable escape.

I mountain bike to this location with friends almost every week. The Arboretum trailheads connect to the Bellefonte Central Rail Trail and are well maintained along with the Arboretum. Plus, I got to see some cool flowers that they plant here that I've never seen before. Good place to come and chill.

The arboretum is a great stop year-round. The staff do an amazing job keeping the place in top condition, and the area for kids in the back is so much fun to walk through -even as an adult. Every time I go back I find something new! Keep track of time as it flies by with the giant sundial sculpture that points towards the center of the arboretum.
This will be a wonderful place for years to come! The trees that have been planted are still quite young, but I dream of coming back to see the place surrounded by tall trees.

This goes without mentioning the peaceful trails behind the arboretum! -bonus points if you find the midevil garden :)

For parking, go to the main building and take a parking pass to stick in your car if you are there for any length of time.

Go there after a rain and see the topographic map fill up with water and flowing streams. The mountain ranges are represented by the boulders in case that wasn't clear.

This place is amazing, but don't go after dark, the night time policy is strictly enforced by the police. But if you happen to be there after the sun falls from the sky, it is a wonderful place close to campus to do some stargazing ^_^

This always-changing seasonal attraction is more than just a garden, it is a horticultural experience. Every season has something beautiful to see and each time you visit there is a new discovery. Absolutely gorgeous location for a wedding, photoshoot or relaxation spot.

What a hidden gem this place is! For years we've driven or walked by without stopping and we're so sorry we didn't explore it sooner! Exquisitely maintained and so much nicer than anticipated. The children's garden is wonderful!

I debated between giving the Arboretum a four and a five, but I settled on five because I live in the area and realized I am a bit spoiled by my surroundings. It's a great place to go for a walk, and a perfect spot to take the kids to play as there are a number of activities outside for them.
