Wonderful kids space where they can explore the wading river, sandbox, cave, and of course the garden where they can water it themselves. Those veggies are then donated to the food bank. Lovely.way to start little kids helping in their community .

A fountain that looks across a meadow and boardwalk to campus. A sundial unlike any others with stone pillows marking date and time. A children's area with zen toned chimes, water, caves and crops. Plenty of paths weaving through various plants, trees and flowers. Benches and seating all around for relaxing, studying or reading. A large central open grass lawn. Plans for upgrades to double its size. Easily my favorite place at PSU when class is done.

I absolutely love taking my kids here. Its a beautiful place with a spot specifically designed for kids to play. Its free to go and is just amazing to share the beauty of nature at its finest with my family.

The Penn State Arboretum is both gorgeous and free to the public, including free parking. There are seasonal planters, perennial borders, annual beds, rose arbors, pollinator gardens, and a koi pond with water lilies. It's not unusual to see people jogging around the central ring, reading on one of the benches, or taking photos of one of the prettiest spots in town.

Beautiful place to explore, very large so there's lots to see and can keep you occupied for a while if you choose. Certainly some parts of the arboretum are more impressive around summer but it's worth a visit year-round.

This is a great place to visit. Many of the flowers are on a trail surrounding a large grass field. Off to the side are two fountains; one had lily pads but did not have frogs and the other had blue water with serves as a second entrance. There was an area with tables. be sure to visit the children's garden even if you don't have a child, there's a vegetable garden in there. it looks like there's an expansion in progress which will only make this place better. Best of all it's free to enter.

Splendid place. Bring your wife here for a romantic walk. Bring the kids to get some energy out in a nice setting. Afterwards, walk across the street to the Creamery for ice cream and milkshakes.
