We always enjoy walks at the arboretum and enjoying the seasonal events and exhibits. It's free, easily accessible, and doesn't feel crowded even on the busiest days. The pollinator gardens and children's garden are my favorite areas. I wish it were lighted to provide access after dusk, but in glad to enjoy it when I can.

We love the Arboretum! It has a water area, a sandbox, music stations, and more for kids to play with in the Children's Garden. The remainder of the garden is great for walking, relaxing, photography, and more. It's a great public facility that can be used free of charge, and there's free parking.

Amazing place for a kid to be a kid and enjoy the outdoors and explore. My son's favorite part is in the kid section they have small rock water ponds and streams he can walk on and play.

Continual progression of this asset to the community is pleasing and continues to benefit the surrounds of State College and the University... Additions include kid friendly, interactive stations.

This place is HUGE! There's something for everyone! Tons of beautiful flowers! A great play area for kids! Winding walkways and places to explore! Statues and places to take pictures! Functional gardening areas! They've got it all. It's a beautiful place to explore; you could easily spend hours just walking through it all.

A beautiful place to nap, study, chat with friends, look at a plethora of plants or just about any other outdoor activity. I think this is definitely an underappreciated part of Penn State.

Incredible place! The Children's Gate section is perfect for families!!! We've taken our now 7-year old twins here each year for three years and we keep worrying they will have outgrown the activities, but they have more fun each time we go! Check the program schedule before you go in case there's a fun program happening that day. There's not a ton of shade in the children's garden, so take sun protection if you're going on a sunny day.

This was a nice place to visit on a sunny day. They had a fantastic view of the mountains, as well as a lot of unique flowers to check out. There was also a kids park which was fairly nice as well. Great open area, with a nice vibe. Definitely worth checking out if you are visiting Happy Valley.

The Arboretum at Penn State opened to the public in 2010, which is located on the Penn State University Park campus in State College, Pennsylvania. The admission to the arboretum is free, but it's not a public park or playground. Visitors are asked to respect the special nature of this Penn State facility as a place for study, research, reflection, and enjoyment.

Cave with sand box, streams to walk in and play with boats , plants to water are a few highlights of this beautiful children s garden .

A fountain, a cave, statues, ponds and a beautiful, shaded overlook. I was overwhelmed with the variety and healthy condition of all of the native trees and especially loved all of the artfully arranged flowers. Be sure to check out the kaleidoscope in the children's area!

A gorgeous, well maintained garden that always delights. Beautiful all year round, this place is one of the best places in State College to take a walk around to relax. The children's garden is also incredible and a wonderful, yet educational experience. I would highly recommend going at least once. Can also rent out for weddings and other events! Very fair prices to boot!
