One of these days! I will attend a show here! Hopefully on a cool fall night! I did not get to see the full stage because we got there just before an event. The hiking was amazing and I wish we could have done more. The views are just to die for!

The amphitheater's rocks are named "Creation Rock" in the north and "Ship Rock" on the south and " Stage Rock" to the east. Red Rocks was designed by Denver architect Burnham Hoyt. They began building in 1937 and was completed in 1941.

There are 70 rows of wooden bench seating in the venue, including one row at the front and one in the rear with accessible seating options. I find that the best rows are 1-20.

Food and beers/ wines are available for sale here as well as T-shirt's for the particular band that's playing.

The sound in this venue is amazing. The amphitheater itself seats between two big slab of rocks. It acts like a giant headphone. The amphitheater's arrangement where the stage sits below the audience affords almost everybody a great view of the stage. Albeit the further up top you seat the smaller the band looks.

Here's a few of the "greats" that played in RR.
Radiohead in 2003, Jimi Hendrix 1968, The Beatles in 1964, Daft Punck 2007, The Grateful Dead 1978, John Denver 1974, U2 1983.

I've personally watched 21 Pilots, Norah Jones, and most recently Rebelution. I am still in awe every time. The light show plays a great deal into the night and rain or shine the audience seem to not mind at all.

RR's outstanding beauty is apparent during the day or night. Tourist and health conscious locals use the amphitheater for their exercise routine.

Ample parking but sometimes it's not enough. Or a far walk.

The above comment being the truth- i'd say it's worth the hike up. You're walking the same path that a few great bands walked in the past and made history.

I am lucky to live 5-10 minutes away. This is my playground and at night watching the lights lit up the red rocks I smile and almost always wish I'm there myself...

Rocks, roks and big rocks and obviously theater on the rock. If you like walking, hiking you will love the place. We parked at the base when there were a nly few cars but when we came after hours we couldn't locate our car... we enjoyed walking on the rocks and beautiful sceneries you can observe from there.

Incredible venue, a truly magical and unique experience. Get there EARLY!!! the hike up from the lower lots can be tough, especially if you're not used to the higher elevation and lower oxygen. Although they now have taxis at the bottom taking people up for $5/person. It's worth it!

Phenomenal concert venue. Amazing sound, views, shows, and experience. Recommend arriving very early for competitive GA seats. Outside food allowed in the venue! Great idea to bring picnic food, blankets, a rain coat, and small bills cash (for food/beverage providers walking by). Crowds - particularly exiting - can be very pushy and impatient and lead to slow traffic exiting. May as well hang back and wait a bit before rushing out. Travelers beware of altitude and dryness while climbing stairs. Bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and water. Look around you day or night - incredible.

The sound. You can t compare it. First concert I ve ever been to where I could actually understand what was being sung; the ampitheatre does magical things for your ears. Add on the beauty of the stars above you and the scenery around you and you have a recipe for the single best venue I have ever been to.

Usually a bit crowded and hard to find parking, but still worth it! There are a lot of places to hike and you can get plenty of great pictures. Parking can sometimes hard to get but there are almost always some places to park.

Absolutely breathtaking!! An absolute must for anyone visiting the Denver area. We got the opportunity to attend an evening musical performance there and still talk about it. The acoustics are mind boggling. The history of construction is amazing. There is a very nice gift shop, restaurant, snack bar and chronologic listing of performers that have been there. There is also a movie evening several times per year. There is also another gift shop as you leave Red Rocks via Morrison CO that has another musical museum, snack bar and wide variety of momentos.

The hike from the parking lot is awful I wish there was a shuttle of somesorts but, the concerts thrown here are always AMAZING! This is a theatre where you are literally grounded in both nature and art! I always keep an eye out for shows here but also events like Yoga on the rocks. The bathrooms are clean, the concession lines get a bit crazy, but overall you will have a wonderful experience here!

I love this park! Red rocks are always pretty and stand out in landscapes like these.
Some really pretty rock formations, beautiful to see when it was snowing in October, sweet combination.
The hikes were not to clear, so you might want to use an app like Alltrails.
Parking is good here, not to busy on a day like this.

Truly Awesome, my uncle took me here when I was staying with him in Denver, a Herd of Deer crossed right in front of us as we were getting closer to red rocks, it was truly amazing. Looking forward to seeing it again when I'm back in Colorado.

Awesome place as usual. We saw Mark Knophler and band. He was amazing. There's the usual everyone leaves at the same time. But it's worth it. You can visit Red Rocks during the day and see the rock formations and they also have a museum. Check it out!

This park has a lot to offer.

I go to the amphitheater in the mornings with my son and dog as often as possible; my son loves the climbing the stairs, ramps, rocks, etc.

If I'm solo or with friends down for a hike, we hit Mt. Morrison right off of gate 4. This is, in my humble opinion, the best hike in the Denver foothills. If you like hiking and having hit Mt. Morrison, please do yourself a favor and google the trail head immediately.

The trails that run through the park are great too and I often see many people on the trails, but I personally don't bother when I can hit Mt. Morrison.

If you are visiting Denver, you need to stop in and visit Red Rock Amphitheater. We did a short hike and it had some incredible views. If you don't feel like hiking, you can join the masses of people who run up and down the stadium for exercise.

Traveling to Red Rocks was a treat! The folks helping you find your way were wonderful and the park is fantastic! We walked the dog on trails, visited the music museum (John Denver is show cased), listened to music, and fully relaxed in a good setting. It was very nice!

Wow! It was on my bucket list and of course it didn't disappoint! Thanks for a great show, Brandi! We had a fantastic woman serve up or beers as well - good descriptions and even several clever jokes! Enjoyed reading about the ampitheater's construction; no waiting to use the restroom; great view! My only wish would be to have better parking/arrival information. I was a first-time visitor and didn't know where to walk once parked in one of the far lots.

The Moody Blues - A Night at Red Rocks with the Colorado Symphony is my favorite concert. I've only seen it on dvd, and many times, at that. I was always intrigued by the Red Rocks Amphitheatre as it appeared so unique compared to other venues. My family recently vacationed in the Denver area. I thought it would be nice to maybe see the amphitheater from the outside like we did the Pepsi Center and Mike High Stadium. We were thrilled to learn we were able to tour this beautiful place as well as go to the museum. From a drive by to a wonderful two hour experience. I highly recommend a trip to Red Rocks and remain envious of those who attend a concert there.

An incredibly beautiful place with the most beautiful landscapes. First of all, I was captured by the vastness of this place: in it, one can feel freedom. There is always a large number of people here, but at the same time, it is pretty More

This is a fantastic hike. Just be aware of which way you choose to start because it is a little difficult if you have to go uphill at the end. The scenery is beautiful and a must-see for Colorado.

This is a must visit in Denver! Is a short drive away (25min away from downtown). It s free to enter. It s surrounded by lots of short and fun hiking trails. The amphitheater itself is impressive. Humans are amazing. I m sure concerts and shows here are out of this world. The sides are littered with shops and bars. I went during the day and was entertained by the people doing crazy workouts on the steps

Went here on a Sunday in the morning and had a wonderful time walking around. The views are amazing. Lots of people were working out at the seats. It was nice to check out the space before I come back to attend a show some time. Lots of families and people generally walking around on the different trails. Could easily spend a few hours exploring, including seeing the visitor center.

It was really hot around the amphitheater which couldn't be helped. Otherwise impressive place to check out with lots of awesome views. Nice hiking paths to take you off the beaten path. It was free to check out which was a nice plus.

Even though it was not open due to coronavirus, I have visited the park many time before and it is fun place to go for concerts and for on a whim visits, it's really fun to be on the stage and your brothers able to hear you at the top due to the naturally occurring amphitheater. I would also highly recommend for people who like to exercise on stairs, but also would recommend it for the extensive trail system that also hooks up to Dakota ridge (dinosaur ridge)

Love this place. Hiked up the to the top of the Amphitheatre from the gift shop. Enjoyed a beverage, walked through the hall of history to find the concerts I attended here. Good quality clothing at the shops too.

We rocked out to the Colorado Symphony Orchestra with Pink Martini. The music was phenomenal and Pink Martini was hilarious - also fantastic, as well as talented musically. This is definitely worth repeating

Unexpected day off lead to the Red Rocks area. So glad I was able to take this all in. Can't wait to return for a show! Love when the locals lead me to spots along the way also. Thanks Denver, I had fun.

Incredible venue for live music with so much history, you have to see it to really feel it. Was here in July during hottest weather in high 90s, now here in mid-September with low 80s and clear skies. Couldn't be more perfect!

Awe inspiring natural park and an unrivaled venue for shows. As someone from the Boston MA area, Red Rocks is now on my list of places to visit every few years, or even just for a few nights to catch a show. If you have a favorite band, check to see if they're playing here when they tour and grab tickets if they do. It's worth a cross country flight; I would do it again in a heartbeat.

THE concert experience!. If you love music, at least once in your lifetime you need to attend a concert at the legendary Red Rocks. It's worth flying in just for a show. Unforgettable experience!

This place was amazing for an outside concert. The surrounding views are incredible, the acoustics are excellent, and staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I would watch all of my concerts here if I lived in this area.

The park is a geological playground. Not interactive, but captivating. The trails are easy to follow and on a clear day hiking and marveling are the activities of choice. Take a picture of the maps when you have a chance to give perspective when the time comes to turn back. Cool views
