Alexian Village Review

My wife and I have lived in Alexian Village for nearly a year. We have a two bedroom independent living apartment which looks out on a park-like garden setting. Daily we eat in the dining room where we select delicious food from a restaurant-like menu and are served in settings with friends. Diverse programs and friendly neighbors maintain our interests and enrich our lives. The reason we chose to live at Alexian Village, having visited six other life-care communities, was the ability of the representatives we worked with here to listen to our needs and to develop a plan with us to meet them. Because of the emphasis by the sales team to address our expectations, our time here has not only been satisfactory, but has exceeded our expectations.

Hello my Mother-In-Law is at Alexian village. She has been there for almost a year. This has been a great decision for the family and the staff at Alexian are very caring individuals and really do the best for the residents. A special shout our to Mary who will help you with joy when you are deciding if this is the right place for you. Mary always has a smile and is very helpful. I was amazed as we walked thru the facility that she knows everyone by name and they are always glad to stop and talk for a short encouraging conversation. Linda is another very caring helpful person that will help you during the move in process and during initial adjustments! She is a wonderful soul and very attentive to the needs of the families and residents. While Alexian may not have all the "bells and whistles" of some of the newer senior facilities, the caring staff and all the little touches make it feel like a family. I am very glad that we found this place and thankful for the staff. While there my Mother-In-Law did have a fall and broke hip and I will also say that having the rehab in the adjacent building was a real gift. The staff there was great and also for followup after the return to the apartment. I would recommend this place highly and encourage you to check it out for your family.

I have lived in Milwaukee for most of my life, and have been familiar with Alexian Village over the years through my work as an RN in Care Management in Milwaukee County. When it came time to look for a new home for my mother, Alexian was on the top of our list. My mother fell in love with Alexian from the get-go. We were treated so warmly by the marketing staff (Amber!), who made my mom feel that she would be welcomed and happy. My mom is a very social person, and wanted a facility offering socialization and activities. She moved into a beautiful apartment in the independent living, and has been there for almost 2 years, and could not have been happier. She loves her new friends, the food, the "happy hour", the memory and exercise classes, movie night and all the other activities offered in and out of the facility (music, shopping, local events). ALL of the staff she encounters routinely have been kind and helpful. I am giving 4 stars, vs 5, due to other experiences that I have encountered over the years in the assisted living area. I have had friends there, and see the common experience of not enough aide staff. This is chronic EVERYWHERE, in long term care. It's unfortunate, and I do not believe Alexian is any worse than other long term care facilities. It is always important for a resident to have an advocate looking out for their needs, no matter where you are. Alexian works VERY HARD I believe, to maintain the quality of their organization and facilities, and I see this as an ongoing objective of the organization.

My Grandma is here all the time. It's a really nice place. They've got a little greenhouse, birds, big library, fireplaces, ext. The staff are nice.

My grandmother is at Alexian Village as we speak. She been there for 2 weeks couple of days now, and no one consider taking her a bath and the care of my grandmother being there is unprofessional. The staff/nurses have to do better it's needed

Terrible!!!!! understaffed and dont give patients proper medication or follow drs orders,Found my mother in a terrible condition on several occasions.If you love you family member please dont choose this place.

I wanted to comment on the stay my mom had for 30 days to rehab at Alexian Villiage I can honestly say it was a very nice clean place for our mother.The staff ask for a meeting with my family so they could provide the best care for my mother doing her stay and they Listen to what we had to say THE FAMILY, which is Extremely important doing such a stressful time. They made the necessary adjustments to accomodate my mothers health needs. I want to give a Special shout out to the nurses when my mom first arrived, they literally checked her out from head to toe to make sure what shape she was in that was very impressive to me lastly I also want to give a shout out to supervisors and asst. director and the social worker for giving me there personal cell number so if I had any concern I could reach them.The physical therapy an OT was also good I only have one thing to say is that the PT needs to be more aggressive with rehab and I know thats on an individual basis but my mom could take it. So Thanks Alexian Village for making this a pleasant experience. I would recommend you to anyone looking for a facility.

Visit their skilled nursing area and it was very nice the rooms was nice, and the person during the tour was knowledge , check it out for my mom, Since they do not have a waiting list I ask how you find out when a room become available and the nice lady I spoke to Tricia, told me just to check back every month to see if anything came available. and I been checking back, by emailing her and never hear back no answer. I am not sure how to check for availability. I really do like the facility

The workers don t check on patients. LAZY!! You might as well stay home with your loved one since you have to notify the employees to come see about the patients. SMH! Where is the supervision

The receptionists Is very Disrespectful Needs More Improvement On How To Speak To People..

DO NOT LEAVE YOUR LOVED ONES AT THIS FACILITY!
If I were able to give a rating of 0, I would. There are a few workers that genuinely seem to care and look after the patients there, but they are overworked because they are taking up the slack of the numerous other indolent employees that confiscate patients personal belongings and leave them unattended for numerous hours (my relative was left in a wheel chair for 6 hours despite repeatedly calling for help). It is really unfortunate that no one cares to consistently monitor the inattentive employees or is held accountable for the horrendous treatment of the patients.

This company does NOT! Listen to information accurately never work here with anyone you know because they will put you two in the same category together and confuse all of the information you tell them. Lost my job due to Hannah G. lack of understanding and confusion she continuously contacted the wrong person to speak about ME when she could of just called me seeing that she wanted to know my availability. Stupid right? Mike in dietary the manager is very disrespectful and can not control his temper. This company will honestly set you up to fail simply to due lack of communication. It all could have been avoided.

My mom has been living here for years now. The current management and staff are great. Food is excellent. Very inexpensive for guests to eat and drink as well. Friendly service by all. Lots of activities. Worth every penny to live here. Fun place with lots of activities. A community of friends.
