Service is pretty good. Full bar. Open 24 hours. Works for me.
Went there for brunch. Good food. Great portions. Nice design of the place. Super pleasant atmosphere and staff is very professional and sweet group of people. The only downside for me was that they serve black coffee with only dairy product mixes and nothing for ppl with lactose intolerance. But coffee was delicious
I ordered a medium-rare steak, but apparently, the server couldn't hear me clearly due to bad reception and ordered a medium-well. Even if this was a medium-well, as you can see in the photo, this is def a well-done. Also, I ordered a sweet potato, but instead I got a regular potato. Worst of all, the potato was rotten as the image shows. I called the restaurant to see if I can get it reimbursed, but the guy who took my order was very unapologetic and requested me to bring back the food, which I refuse to do. I think Annie's would been a great restaurant if the server had a better service attitudes & skills to take order. Also, using a rotten potato was very unprofessional. I am disgusted.
Great place. Great food. Great people. A must in Dupont Circle! Go it for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch!
The food was great, the service was professional and friendly and not too expensive.
Food is about the quality you'd get at Denny's for four times the price. But at least it's consistent.
I have finally had the perfect steak.
This place was awesome.
Really simple basic menu and out of this world service.
I got a petite filet with seafood, which was fried shrimp, crabcake and fried oysters. I asked for extra shrimp vs oysters since neither of us like oysters. They happily indulged me.
He got a ny strip steak.
Service was prompt and even went a little above and beyond. They actually cooked my steak closer to rare than medium and I HATE being that person but mt bf pushed me to say something.
Not only did our server IMMEDIATELY grab a small clean plate to whisk my steak away (leaving me to still eat off my own plate), he came back within a minute with the steak properly cook.
The steak was AMAZING. Omg seriously, so freakin good. I cleaned my plate.
I absolutely cannot wait to go back and definitely plan on making it our go to steak place.
Loved this place! Great service, great food and drinks. Both hostess and server were fantastic. Rin eye steak was to die for and if you like fresh fruity cocktails "dupont rum punch" was soooo good! Recommend!
Its a good place good food but when you go to leave a tip to the man that serve you be carefulllllll!!!
I never had a problem with the tip that i give because not everybody as the money to spend in tip and food so i try to leave always something if the service is good but sorry not every one can give 15% or more on tip. But he even told me to go to my country and if i dont have money to go eat on McDonalds. Very very bad and racist in my opinion and he didnt want my tip.
Been wanting to try this place for quite sometime, and finally got an opportunity!
The staff were great and very friendly. The menu was short and to the point. I went with a chicken sandwich and coleslaw. The chicken was cooked perfectly. It was a crunchy chicken sandwich and every bite was full of flavor. Nothing too hard or too soft.
The coleslaw, was good. From 1-5, I d give it a 4. It wasn t too bland or too wet, and tasty too.
To top off the night, I had ordered a pumpkin pie, figured at $8.95, what could go wrong?
After it arrived, it was sprayed with whip cream around it, and after first bite, what went wrong was that it left me wanting more. The pumpkin was full of flavor and the whip cream blended with it perfectly. It was nice and warm. It was worth the $9, and it s definitely better than a Patty pie.
I highly recommend this place, I recommend trying their chicken sandwich and their pumpkin pie, but hurry because that s limited time.
The atmosphere is pleasant with a very spacious bar along the restaurant. The menu is varied but the prices a bit salty.
Great food service a little slow and not very attentive.
An institution. Not the best food ever but it more than hits the spot - especially at times of night when horrible greasy jumbo slice might be the only other option. Friendly staff. You really get the sense that the place cares about being good.
Many visits here, but recently discovered late night breakfast with friends for the 3rd time, food is good, bartender is very nice, and fun atmosphere.
Love this place! An institution in DC. Food is great. Service is even better. Lived in DC for close to 20 years and knew about it as it is an institution. Just never went. Sorry I waited but glad to have experienced. Will be back!
Service is awesome, I'd recommend the hash breakfast. I'll definitely go again.#DinnerRival
Usually fantastic and go often. Last visit had bad service. However will continue to go again unless the hospitality has changed...
A neighborhood institution...great food, fantastic staff, and history
Food great. Atmosphere great. Drinks great. Hours great. Very open and accepting of all orientations. Kudos to accepting reality!
So Annie's Paramount Steakhouse deserves ever bit of the James Beard Award that they received! The food was soooo delicious and the sole drink I had was perfection! Upon entering we were greeted and we sat in the patio (covered of course lol). We were met with 3 waters immediately and them I ordered the Blueberry lemonade (made with absolute), Woodchuck Hard Cider, and a Stella the beer was ice cold and the drink was on point! Strong but oh so tasty. We proceeded to order appetizers which were a caprese salad and calamari. The apps came out extremely fast which was delightful. After the apps the environment was so cozy that we chatted for a bit then decided upon the Seafood Platter (Shrimp, crab cake, clam frites, rice, and mashed potatoes), Athenian Chicken with sauteed green beans and mashed potatoes, and finally the open faced turkey which came with bread underneath of the turkey (came with white and dark meat). All three entrees were sooooo good!!! Very filling so of course we had to take it home. Our waiter was extremely delightful but I forgot his name honestly, he was wearing glasses lol but overall I would recommend 1000000 times over. The plus is that they are open 24hrs on Friday and Saturday and I even saw something about a mid night brunch . Please do yourself a favor and check this place out!!!
I love Annie's. It upgraded over the years but still offers it's signature dishes. New options look great too.
It was okay the food was very expensive and for not reason. It was pretty basic choices. Not sure why chicken parmesan was $18.00?
Amazing time and Ja'Dawn was an amazing waitress!!!
I wish I could have steak and eggs here every day. Will certainly go as often as possible. Can't believe I've been in DC 8 years and didn't know about this gem.
I love Annie s and have ate here many times, but the past 2 times I ordered the steak tips med rare, They came out well done and I I sent them back. When they came back they were still cooked well done. Not one piece was cooked to med rare. Then the server asked me are they better? I said no, they are still well done. His response was well if they don t come out right then why do you keep ordering them? Is that a proper response from one of your employees? Coming from the industry, the customer is always right.
Food was pretty good. Not tip-top steakhouse, but good. But as far as queer community, it was awesome! Old gay guys, young gay guys, transgender women, cishet (I think) couples with kids, just a rainbow of diversity.
Everyone who works here is always so nice. Food is always great, not the fanciest, but delicious comfort food. Well worth the trip.
Very clean an very good food. I service the kitchen equipment. Kitchen is one of the cleanest in the city.
The portions here were really fantastic and made it easy to share with a friend. While I'm still not really a fan of dim lighting in DC and other places it was a lovely restaurant aesthetically too. Our server was lovely too. I highly recommend it!
Always nice to come back to our old neighborbood and one of our favorite dining spots. The Bull 'n the Pan was okay, not as flavorful or tender as I remember.
This place will surprise you. Service is typically good.
The best place to hit up for some late night food after a night out and about on 17th St. The service is a bit spotty but most times you are guaranteed a great experience. Dinner items are pricey but when you want something to eat late at night (that's not McDonalds) it's a great option.
Always open. Service can suck at times, in fact, honestly it always does lol.. but the food is good. Great for after the club.
I had a terrible experience at this restaurant when a drunk white customer seated next to me dropped a glass near my friend's foot and refused to apologize. The management took this drunken man's side and approached us as if we were instigated this incident instead of investigating how and why this customer refused to apologize. The waitress gave us our checks extra early and claimed that "someone asked for the check" even though none of us asked for the check. This establishment is seen as 'gay friendly' but obviously caters more to their white clientele even in their drunken stupor, than their gay nonwhite clientele. Eating here felt like a nightmare from the JIM CROW SOUTH: DO NOT PATRONIZE ANNIE'S.
I've rediscovered this place after 20+ years in DC.A gem. Only have done brunch, weekends, and have enjoyed my omelettes, my egg sandwiches, my Bloody Mary's, the service (Martin!), and the general vibe. Easy to love a little Annie's.
A great find for breakfast. Came on a rainy Sunday and although it was crowded we were seated right away, had fast friendly service and the french toast and eggs were phenomenal. Prices are reasonable for the area as well.
Always a pleasure and the food is on point. I love the buttered bread and the eggs are exquisite.
Steaks were a little too dry. We visited in March 2020 and were seated quickly. I ordered the medium rare and still it came out too dry
Hadn't been in years since going to the bars for late night, night caps and munchies. Was surprised a bit by the redo was tastefully done. The server was excellent, Josh. He actually cared about his service and that we were taken care of as guest as always great selections, we even had the fried mozzarella which was not frozen but hand breaded and delious which made this way killing the diet treat all more easier to swallow. Had the pear and gorgonzola grilled chicken salad which was great, chicken hit and juicy off the grill.
Awesome happy hour upstairs. I recommend the house Manhattan. My ribeye was cooked perfectly.
Food is great but the service varies. Look out for the manager Clarke who will be on watch for everything. This is a business that is open after hours which makes it a great place to come after a few drinks with your friends. Don't lay your head down or anything besides sitting upright for you will be hassled from the owner like we are at a catholic school.
Wonderful steak house....small place but great food.
I have always stopped by on my trips to DC. Great food and excellent service.
Nice late night staff. Few cute pups congregate here apparently.
Such a lovely place. An unassuming door next to a larger patio leads you to the bar area. The servers are attentive and polite. There's an upstairs area as well that's a little quieter. The food is tasty with good portions.
Awesome place! Loved everything about this restaurant. The food, a NY strip cooked to perfection, the staff, Manuel was the best, to the atmosphere.
Great service that is always accommodating and the food is always good. A great place to come with good friends for Sunday brunch or a weeknight dinner. This can be your home away from home.
I order from here too many times for my budget. It's my go to place while I'm at work when I want a great meal of restaurant quality and it never takes too long. I wish there was one by my house. The staff is always over the top amazing funny and friendly. I would reccomend them on any day. The service is consistently great. Thanks Annie and staff for brightening my day.
Great food, friendly staff, excellent location, ten minute walk from where we were staying.
Good food, nice upstairs. Great food. Nice ambiance.
Don't order soda.... 4 bucks a glass is ridiculous.
Everything about our experience was well done. Our large group was seated at our reservation time and we were attended by more than one server. We had several different appetizers and entrees and each was nicely prepared. Can be a little loud during peak times, but it is just the atmosphere of the place.
The enviroment was very comfortable. The staff was amazing and welcoming. The food was great. I got the ribeye and it was phenomenal. The rice pilaf wasnt the best nor was the mashed potatoes. The crab cake bites were so perfect and the dipping sauce paired perfectly. Would definitely visit again in the future.
Delicious little neighborhood dining gem. The servers make it home (aka a fun place to be)
This is a very cool place. Steaks are great, it is a party from the time you sit down to the time you leave. The Staff is also fun. The only strange thing is that they charge 20% tip over the bill and tax on parties of 5+, which some may perceive as tacky...
Amazing. Went here while visiting D.C. with a friend of mine who is a steak aficionado and he said it was the best prime rib steak he has ever had. I've got to say I might agree with him.
Timeless menu brought to the table by helpful professional servers like Mano! Expanded outdoor seating in The Time of COVID adds to neighborhood cheer.
