I highly recommend The Hilltop. Jim was excellent to do business with. I felt confident in him and his workers. They were prompt, respectful, and hard working. They did a beautiful job replacing a patio and adding redwood pilars to inhance the patio structure. Again, I would recommend this company.

Called Hilltop a while back.. I was told they would call me back in 2 to 3 days...after 2 weeks I called them..they still had me on file and did not know why I had not been contacted..they said someone would be getting back with me asap...never happened.. Hilltop does not follow through with there commitments I have read other similar reviews on YP...At this point even if they did call I would send them away due to their lack of common courtesy. PS....I did leave an email (NO Response) I did talk to a receptionist twice that was very nice but I was still left hanging with NO Response or follow through at all...
Their job is consistent and neat very good customer service and satisfaction guaranteed
They couldn't reproduce their landscape drawing (positions and dimensions off by multiple feet). We had literally dozens of issues, and were repeatedly lied to by Aaron Forrester about most of those issues being fixed when I had photographic evidence to the contrary. Terrible experience all around.
Jim from The Hilltop Landscape came to our home on May 16, 2020 to provide an estimate to do some very basic work on our backyard. He was pushy & wanted us to add features that we didn't want. He didn't listen to what we wanted. It was about what HE wanted us to do. Jim told us he would get back to us with an estimate of what we requested in a week or so. He never got back to us at all. I believe that if this company didn't want the job, they could have told us that instead of saying they'd get back to us & then never following up. Very unprofessional thing to do. I do not recommend this compay. This company lacks ethics and are not professional.
Told to come take a look. drove 30 min there and then was informed they dont usually take visitors and there was nothing for me there. WTF guys?
It is my family's privilege to highly recommend The Hilltop Landscaping. They are extremely professional and highly competent at what they do from beginning to end.
The Hilltop designed our back and front yard landscaping with beautiful, low water use plantings, rock and hardscapes that fit perfectly with our house and neighborhood. Many of the plants have a lot of color as well as fragrance.
The Hilltop was able to maximize our view and ordered several plants specifically for me. They put in lighting, built a gorgeous water feature and fire pit, and stayed within our budget.
In the beginning, I worked with one of the Hilltop designers. She was knowledgeable about southwest plants and trees, hardscapes, etc., and was able to incorporate my ideas into a beautiful color plan. The designer also made helpful suggestions for things I had not considered.
Then one of Jim Forrester's teams made everything so. Mr. Forrester's crew was dedicated to making me happy, even when it meant changing something. The foreman, Lucas, was exceptionally pleasant and competent. (A friend had a different foreman, and she thought he was exceptional as well.)
In the end, the results of this project exceeded our expectations in every way possible. We will definitely use The Hilltop again when landscaping.
They are awesome!! Jim the owner is amazing, kind, honest and wonderful...the guys are so great..they do a fantastic job! Super blessed to know them and thankful to have them doing my yard!
They came out to give us a quote and said we would have it in two weeks. Three weeks later no quote so I called and Aaron said, without an apology, he was busy but would get it to me in a few days. That was two months ago. Still no quote.
A bit torn on this review - previously would ve rated 1 star due to all of the issues. I started by receiving a quote and design back in May, and asked about estimated time to complete. I was told they were 3-4 weeks out, so I decided to wait before confirming the order to save more money before moving forward. I ended up booking around July 3rd because shortly before I was again told twice that they were still 3-4 weeks out, and they could definitely get it done by the first week of August.
Aaron Hill was supposed to give me a start date after 1.5 weeks, but never did until I reached out to him 2+ weeks after. When I did, he said they were another week behind due to COVID; I found it odd COVID issues were just starting to affect them after 4 months and did not before. He said the guys would come the week after originally stated - they did not show and he did not communicate. I repeatedly called the office and left voicemails for the owner or Aaron, and the owner never once returned a phone call, and Aaron rarely did; it took threats to ask for a refund and go with someone else to get a response in which he just said the workers would be out another day, and for them to not show.
To make a very long story short, what should ve taken a week to do, my backyard ended up being started in late August and lasting until November. I was repeatedly told workers would be here on X dates and then they wouldn t show up and I wouldn t be informed and just left in the dark. Continuous feelings if they basically took my money and abandoned my project. They do landscaping for Pulte and will throw aside any other projects from customers in order to do them for Pulte - greatly showing who they prioritize instead of a more balanced approach.
I am very unhappy with the communication and level of effort by this company. Their workers, when they came out, were either in pairs or one guy alone, so clearly not getting much done any one day. Even when two were sent, I often noticed one guy just standing around doing nothing while the other worked. I decided to give them 3 stars still - even though they really don t deserve it in my eyes - because the hard did turn out well and I m happy with it. However, again I was originally told after 4 weeks I d have a completed yard, and 4 months later is when I actually had it.
Poor and shoddy service. Poor quality grass. Please use another company for new grass lawn or replacement lawn service.
I worked with Doug on a landscaping project. We had a blank canvas to work with (all dust). They provided the entire design of the yard using Google maps aerial images and measurements after they were able to get out to the site. The whole team was stupendous and easy to work with. Doug was responsive by email. They seem really busy, so expect a several week process from initial call to final product. Once they come out, their staff is only on site for a few days at most. They worked very quickly.
Quality, price, communication and professionalism are great. Good things are worth waiting for, you can't rush perfection, etc. Only the highest praise.
We live on a corner lot and in very high profile, high traffic location. We were never happy with the look of our front yard. We wanted a front yard that we could sit out with our kids and enjoy, while offering a beautiful curb appeal for those passing by. After searching, we learned Hilltop had been around for a long time with an outstanding reputation in the community. They were also familiar with our neighborhood s restrictions on landscape renovations and could navigate the system with ease. The owner met with us to hear our opinions on things we liked and disliked. After a couple of weeks he gave us a professional blue print of the changes he envisioned at no cost, no obligation. We made some minor adjustments and hired them for the job. Their crew always showed up before 8am and put in a full day of hard work. Our project took several weeks because they had to completely tear out our existing yard and build a moss rock wall, a beautiful new patio, a xeriscape area with new plants, and new sod was also added. It was worth every penny! The entire staff was easy to work with and very friendly. They were also accommodating when we made a couple of changes during the project. We enjoyed working with the owner; he is a man of integrity and sticks to his word. We highly recommend Hilltop for any landscaping need! We plan on using them again in the future.
Doug is a pleasure to work with, and his crew was professional, on-time and very detail oriented. I would hire Doug again.

High quality landscaping and tree trimming from trained professionals. We have used them for regular maintenance but they also took great care of us when we had an emergency when a large tree limb fell on our house and a crew worked on a weekend to remove it.
I have been using The Hilltop for more than years than I care to admit to. I have used them to install new irrigation systems as well as repair and maintain existing systems. I have always received high quality products and services. My original purchase from them 15 years ago is still working perfect today.
