Very interesting place to see. Well prepared and detailed story about the fate of that Jewish girl and her family.
Be aware to buy your online tickets two months before your visit.

Sombering reminder of history. Good they do not allow photos inside; roadblocks already with people at entrance to secret annex and at diary pages.
I was fortunate enougt to look a week before coming and more tickets had opened up for when I would be visiting Amsterdam. However, tickets go on sale 2 months in advance and sell out quickly.
The House itself is a great experience. It takes you to a whole different side of Anne Frank's story. You are able to learn more about her and see the annex where she lived. They do a great job preserving the annex and providing background information throughout the museum before you enter where the bookcase was that hid the entrance to the attic.
If you are planning a visit , make sure to book the tickets online a few weeks in advance as there is no offline booking and tickets are in heavy demand. We couldn't visit the museum as we were not aware of this.
Very smooth layout to the self paced tour. Good info given, nothing extra.
Very interesting and unique, I would suggest buying tickets beforehand to avoid the long ticket lines
Historical place... Please don't forget to. Make your reservations to enter
Incredibly moving, an absolute must do whilst in Amsterdam!
Amazing... Must go if you are visiting Amsterdam. But be aware book your tickets online to save time trying to buy tickets at the venue
You must reserve tickets ahead of time. Overall, they did justice to Anne Frank legacy. Not touristy or overly commercialized. A quiet place to reflect on the experiences of one family trying to avoid capture. The journey through the storefront and hiding area takes you back to the 1940 s and if not only for a split second you wonder how you would have reacted if placed into a similar scenario.
There was a very long line and facility ran behind schedule. I wish it was a little more organized with the time because it's a small space and lots of ppl trying to view things at the same time. It's like every man for themselves once your in the door.
Not much to read, but just enough for the crowd of people. The audio guide is free (very useful) but the queue is min 1hour long when you don't book beforehand, and there's no bench to sit at. There's a hot chocolate shop next to the queue, which doesn't have prices and the guy just makes the price up. So always ask for the price beforehand. He asked for 4 euro for a small cup made by a machine! Inside the museum it's not too crowded.
Very touching to see what the Frank family went through.
I partook in the 30-minute programme before hand, I think it's extremely necessary especially for younger or people without the knowledge of Anne Frank's story.
BOOK ONLINE and check frequently!!!
We booked four weeks in advance, and barely got tickets.
The tour was a multi-media experience, putting audio and physical spaces to use. The house is emptied except for letters and books of those hiding. Words cannot express the feelings you'll go through.
One of the most moving experiences I ve had. We had a long wait but if you re engaged and willing to read it is worth it. There are lots of moving parts/pieces to this place and lots of walking through floors/stories.
Incredibly emotional and powerful, important to learn history else we are doomed to repeat it
If you don't buy online tickets you can queue from 1530 onwards for tickets on the door. This, for us, was approximately a 2 hour wait in line, absolutely worth it. The audio guide is a must and included in the ticket price and in a large range of different languages. The story of Anne Frank and her families lives in hiding is moving, climbing in behind the secret bookcase into the annex is something else. Being in the rooms where they had to live their lives in hiding and silence is just harrowing. Anne Frank's huis is a must if visiting Amsterdam. The only issue here is there are many steep and very narrow flights of stairs (as in many of the canal side houses) which would likely be tricky for somebody with impaired mobility.
I mean... You are not allowed to go in, so I guess I judge the exterior. It's an interesting looking building.
A must visit if you re in Amsterdam. It helps reading Anne Frank s diary prior to your visit to value the visit more.
Truly moving and memorable experience! Certainly a must see!
Interesting, but not really worth it's status as Amsterdam's top attraction. We booked online, but there were people queuing for hours for walk up tickets.
Very nice
Wise and crasy
Amazing museum learned a lot and got to see the hideout of the victims of ww2
An absolute must if visiting Amsterdam. Be aware you must prebook online well in advance.
Surprisingly moving visit. I wasn't sure what it would be like but it brought you up close with the families involved and helped you experience the horror of the time.
The Anne Frank House is a museum and gift shop dedicated to learning history surrounding World War II and the Holocaust. It is a deeply moving experience. Tickets are only available online. Be sure to book tickets weeks ahead of time, the museum is in high demand. However, the museum releases a limited number of tickets for admission same day. If you're in Amsterdam and want to go, you might be able to score a tickets online. Check on the website frequently.
Good to see. For sightseeing, the booking in advance is must. Otherwise, you must queue for hours.
Worth a visit and would recommend booking in advance as queues as Lee insanely long otherwise.
I understand why the museum is kept bare: first, thousands of people come through the museum every day, so making it look like it did when they were in hiding would be difficult; second, leaving it bare is meant to remind visitors that the Gestapo emptied the house and destroyed everything in it, in the same way that the Nazis emptied and destroyed the lives of millions.
for me, however, walking through a virtually empty building with nothing but an audio guide, some wall projections and several hundred other tourists doing the exact same thing was a very bland experience.
Only available if booked on line, both days we tried fully booked in advance. Make sure you book WELL in advance before going
Quite long waiting times despite having set times slots, but the experience was very informative.
At the final section where the diaries were kept we experience quite a bottleneck of people who didn t know which way to move, so a staff member here could be a helpful addition
Museum only accepts tickets online. This is unacceptable. Bad service. Several tourists could not get tickets. All July month Is full. I Will return to Mexico without seeing this important museum. I feel frustrated.
Book online, a month in advance, because you can't buy tickets at the door until 15:30, and to be at the front of that queue (which goes all the way down the street) you'll need to get there by 13:00.
No photos allowed inside. Backpacks must be worn on the front
Great look into the history, brings the horror of World War II to life.
It felt more like a cattle market than anything else, groups, queues and unwanted guidance. I found it slightly misleading in terms of historical accuracy and quite distasteful as the gift shop offers empty diary's to write down any atrocities I had befallen.
Amazing history of Anne Frank's house... If I could, I would go back several times just to soak up all the information from such a short trip. Very well worth the stop. If you visit, take loads of pics and read the book.
Possibly one of the best museum experiences I've had. If you're in Amsterdam once in your life, I'd say this is a must see.
I don't care about tickets, who is giving the Anne frank house a bad review? that kind of disrespectful.
Important experience for any contemporary human being.
Remarkable. A great audio tour. Sadly a lot of items were temporarily replaced with replicas at the time of visit.
Que time was about 1 hour at 4pm on a Thursday.
As others have said, very crammed. But good value for money at 10 euros. Worth the visit. Would recommend booking well in advance. But, if you're booking on the day, be sure to try and get a ticket on the website at 9am. The first day we tried to get tickets, they were sold out by 9.30am.
Nice place to visit if you are interested in learning historical facts. Go with your family! It's amazing what you can learn from her life.
A cool museum that is cramped with tourists. If you can manage to get tickets inclusive of the 30 minute introductory presentation it is worth the small extra cost as they do a good job of providing some background information prior to visiting the house.
It' nice but the bad thing is that no tickets available on the place .. only through the website and most of time the all tickets sold !
Very enlightening view into just exactly what the Franks and other Jews had to endure to escape death.
Rather disappointing was just climbing stairs and audio report..no atmosphere watsover..renovations works going on around the house which didnt help..
i haven't visited it yet, but it would be great if i have the chance! looks good on the Maps!
Somber and frightening. A chilling reminder of what nationalism can turn into.
Spend the extra money on the little lecture, very informative. People were sobbing at the end.
Impossoble to visit without booking you should get tickets one month in advance
You should definitely drop by if you're interested in Anne Frank and her life. It's a self guided tour that will take 1-2 hours. Try to read the diary of Anne Frank before dropping by as you'll be able to relate better then. An eye opener for what humans are capable of.
Providing a very thorough view of the house that the Frank family had been in hiding, the Anne Frank house details what was life like living in hiding. Tickets CAN ONLY BE BOUGHT ONLINE. This can cause issues for people expecting to go directly to the museum. Otherwise, a very interesting and educational museum.
A must visit in Amsterdam. Great history and story. We spent around 1 hour 30 minutes here.
I didnt go inside but my sister did and she found it very interesting, the boat ride I went on passed it and gave some info
Buy tickets before online its the only way but audio tour was good
Must see place, but you need to buy tickets online before your visit
Make sure you book in advance. The line gets very long
Must visit! Very interesting and emotionally intense museum.
Its very well organized. Make sure to make a reservation 1-2 months before your visit and have a pair of headphones with you for the guide. You can also book tickets for the day you want to visit, early in of the morning day of this day.
Very interesting... Very sad. A must visit but be prepared for climbing many deep stairs. Must see.
Emotional visit to one of the most horrible stories. The museum is very convenient and the videos and exhibitions are really good. Highly recommended and a MUST see in Amsterdam
Overall a good experience but felt it could be slightly better with a few changes. visited here one Saturday evening and queued for some considerable time to get in, then queued inside the foyer waiting for other visitors to leave so we could access the property, audio tour available so easy to listen to when walking through the house. I felt it would've been nice to see the furniture in the rooms rather than just stand in an empty room and look at a picture and felt it needed a bit more about Anne in the tour, I didn't find out anything I didn't already know and came away feeling I didn't really get to know her as a person which I felt was a shame. The history lesson is obviously invaluable and very important and judging by the volume of people visiting lots of people are keeping their memories alive
Must see I guess but it really is just an old house with pictures hung and an audioguide.
Very well preserved and laid out. A must see for any Amsterdam visit.
This place is so special :) try the introduction before the visit, it makes the experience even more fascinating
Everyone should see. Well worth the advance ticket sales and wait
I though it was going to be a boring tour... you know a house with a history, but a house, not a castle or a dungeon BUT they actually made the structure of the tour in this house quite remarkable, you are going trough the story as you walk the hallways, rooms and corridor. Quite a clever way to portray the life of Anne and her family while hiding for those years in that house. It is a good tour and honestly it was the only house in Amsterdam I can say I actually walked in, other places commercial places or clubs are design differently. So I did like it and would recommend to everybody. Even someone that usually does not like museums would enjoy a visit in this one, it's just really smooth
I visited here in 1982 and again in 1991. Very moving experience.
If you are interested in history, World War II specifically, this is a place that would definitely be on your list. If it isn't, make it!
You need to book your tickets online, either way in advance when they release the tickets or wait for the ticket release for the day itself.
It's basically a tour of the house, not much lingering around so this visit will take a maximum of 2 hours.
Very important museum for the remembrance of the Holocaust.
Order tickets on line. The wait can be long, but the speaks of the interest in this historic location and what it represents. Before visiting here I had this image in my head it was in a crowded area surrounded by row upon row of brownstone tenement homes, not off the canal in a picture-perfect setting. Think of the isolation they felt as they hid in this urban beauty while the ravages of war and inhumanity were just outside, only to have their sanctum invaded and shipped to a concentration camp....
Visited Out of season and early morning so the queue was more than manageable but by the time we left the queue was around the corner and threatening the next corner!
A very sobering experience and one everyone should experience. But remember this is only one story of one family from millions who suffered in a similar way and worse!
Incredible place! Just remember to book in advance!
