If you are visiting Amsterdam you HAVE to visit the Anne Frank House. I have now been there twice and the experience is very chilling to be in the annex where the families hid. Make sure you buy tickets online and in advance otherwise you may not get in or have to go very early. Not a great place for disabled people to visit because there are narrow and steep stairs so it's not an accessible museum. Still an amazing place to visit.

One of the most affecting places I've ever been, steeped in history and a lesson to current and future generations. The way the tour is designed is quite remarkable, with enough to read, look at and learn as you meander your way through the house into the secret annex. Everybody visiting Amsterdam should take some time to visit the Anne Frank House. Queues in the evening can be extremely long (you don't need to have prebooked a ticket in the evening), but I'd recommend buying a timed entry slot online. It'll take you about 90 minutes to walk around, but every minute is well spent. I'm surprised this doesn't cost significantly more.

The history behind Ann Frank story is fascinating. The place of hide with the historic pictures definitely worth visiting, to realize how lucky we are compared to the people who lived during that time. Either Jews and no Jews were called to make very hard choices.

What can I say, the story behind all this is absolutely sad, but it s history, so it s worth knowing about it.
The museum is interesting and you get a lot of information. Totally worth the price.

A dream come true today visiting the Anne Frank house though many poignant moments. What a remarkable family the Franks were Just terrible that for us to know about them is borne out of such suffering. Thank you Anne for reminding us of the horrors of Nazi Germany.

A bit annoying that you can't turn up at the door and have to prebook but other than that was good.

This visit will change your life. I wish every person in the world could come and visit this house-museum. Her legacy is a gift to everyone, a reminder to enjoy your life because you can and love and respect others, because they deserve it as much as you deserve it too.

If you are visiting Amsterdam, it is a must. You may have to book tickets in advance, but I promise it's worth to stop by. You will be given an audio guide in your preferred language and you will be allowed to walk around the house she lived in, it gives you goose bumps!
Very interesting!

Best if you buy tickets ahead or online to avoid the lines.

Well worth the effort to visit. The tour is very structured to keep the "flow"; this also means you will be in the museum portion of the site for about 1 hour. It would be nice to be able to soak in the experience but it is a small space and well attended and the two places you could "ponder" is the bookstore and a video area.

Only waited 1 hr without a ticket at the beginning of June, in the evening. Overall very moving. I would recommend buying tickets online to avoid the wait. I think we just got really lucky with timing. I wouldn't risk it again and the city it too beautiful to waste 6 hours in line

We did not find anything extraordinary about the place. The stories of Anne frank have nothing to do with the location and renovations have also taken place so the old effects of the location have lost significance

The newly renovated visitor centre makes a visit to the secret annexe a bit easier on those of us with knobby knees. Whilst u still have to climb up to see the famed annexe, the way down is through the back building. The visitor experience is great.

My only gripe (and it can't be helped) is the crowds! No matter the time of day, u will often feel inclined to hurry through as visitors keep shuffling in. Still worth a visit (or 3) if you are in the area.

Tough to swallow but worth the visit. History is heartbreaking, but it's important to understand. Visiting Anne Frank House is beautifully centred around the Frank's experience while also teaching you about the Holocaust as a whole. Do not miss out when you visit Amsterdam.
Make sure to purchase tickets far ahead of time.

I ve read Anne s Diary numerous times of the years it s utterly heartbreaking.. The museum take you into Anne Franks life during that terrible time.. my favourite part was seeing her walls with all the picture postcards she stuck on.. it s a must see, the only negative it is very busy and the staff upstairs rush you so I feel you cannot possibly take in everything. However I rate it 5 stars as I would visit again the next time I m in Amsterdam.

Me and my girlfriend have just been here this afternoon and we booked in advance which is highly recommended. The unguided tour and audio guide around the house is honestly something. Its eerie to walk through each room and corridor where the families all lived closely and were they would have been discovered and captured is something you would have to experience yourself. I would recommend anyone visiting Amsterdam to visit and take in the atmosphere and get a real feel for what they went through

Amazing experience! Would definitely recommend, a really well put together museum, not too crowded and a great audio tour. Was clever how they had merged the new building into the actual house Anne Frank lived in, amazing videos and history behind it all. Spent over an hour looking around and walking through, an inspiring story and a must see when visiting Amsterdam.

Excellent display of original artefacts. A very vivid and moving insight into the struggle of daily life under constant threat, and a group of family and friends efforts to hold onto some normality while enduring this point in history. Very difficult to imagine that people can treat other people in this way, but this place effectively takes you out of your comfort zone. It will make you confront thoughts that you would perhaps prefer not to think about, but absolutely you should to learn and make sure this never happens again. A must see for any history enthusiast, but critically a must see for anyone that may not be familiar with the story of Anne Frank and her writings.

The Anne Frank House should definitely be visited if you come to Amsterdam. I have visited 3 times. It is worth any wait and worth the cheap ticket price. However, each time, it has been less enjoyable. My first visit was in 2015, and without the audio guides and crammed queues, it was much better then than it is now. They remodeled the diary room, and it feels less of an intimate emotional experience than it used to be.

I wasn't able to go in because tickets have to be bought well in advance on the Internet. I was quite happy to look at the house from the outside and enjoy the pretty area where Anne Frank grew up.

Very impressive place to visit. Everything is so detailed with phrases from Anne's diary or pictures of what the house looked like and video testimonials of the people that worked there and helped to hide them.

As a retired History Teacher, this was the most moving experience we had on our Riverboat Cruise. Climbing the narrow stairways and traveling through the rooms made you feel like you were there with them. The radio guided tour was excellent. The artwork and the videos helped take you back and understand how life was and is precious and how it can be taken away by evil. The final message was that when you walked out the door, you would fight to prevent it from happening again.

Amazing Museum. I checked all the reviews before going there and all the negative ones were about the tickets and the queue. Well , when I checked for the first time the tickets availability there were none for that day. Although 2 hours later there were 18. I bought 2 online and went to the queue 10 min before the time of my visit. I just spent 10 min outside in the queue and everything went well. The audio guides were important for the understanding of the different divisions of the museum although I believe that we should also have audio guide during the visit in the Annex. Here was the only part were we had queue and I believe that could be interesting to know more about the Annex itself.

Must visit if you like world history. Read briefly about Anne Frank before visiting since the tour doesn't cover the history behind her comprehensively. Very strongly recommend to buy the tickets online and at least a week ahead of time.

Enjoyable. Obviously with a wheelchair you can't get up the stairs or see inside the house, but with the new addition to the house, they have a Virtual Reality set to allow you to get an idea without going in.

Truly a preserved and atmospheric historical building.
All is preserved as original. Much information and photography from the time of the haulocost.
You can feel the presence of the event. It is like Anne was there with you.

This is the place to know the history of Anne Frank and is very interesting however you cannot take pictures once you're inside of the house. This is also a place for remembrance and thoughts about the difficulties of world war II.

Amazing and an awesome experience.the first few floors lack orientation to original facade but once you reach the "book shelf" it gets really real and you can truly see what these people would have experienced and endured at this time in history. A great point of fact to the tours is the intricate toilet that was used by all occupants.

Booking of the additional educational talk before the museum tour starts 1 month before the actual date. Time and place are very limited. We booked both museum tickets and educational talk 1 month ahead. No lineup and a few minutes wait for the talk to start. The house is really small. We read the book before we went to the house, make the story/history come alive. No photos allowed in the museum. Photos ok in the education room. Has audio guide included in ticket charge.

It's part of the story of WW2 and Jewish families who suffered tragically through it and while poignant, the modern museum built behind the house IMHO takes away from the authenticity of the place and the sad story of the Anne Frank family.

I'd skip the museum and read the diary instead. Sometimes books take you to the place and time better than the place itself especially when it is commercialized that way it is.
