This is my favorite place in the Raleigh-Durham area to get a steak. Yes it is a little pricey, but you definitely get your money's worth out of it. The environment of this restaurant also adds to the overall experience of dining there. This is a great place for celebrating all types of events from birthdays, anniversarys, and graduations to weddings and rehearsal dinners.

I had pork ribs and lobster tail. Ribs were just OK, lobster however was overcooked and bit tough. Didn't not taste like a nearly $60 lobster for sure. The place has a rustic look, for those who care for it.
Area s most famous restaurant, outstanding steaks, huge baked potatoes, wonderful cocktails. Call of a reservation, or you will be waiting awhile. Must see at Christmas Holidays.
Celebrated our anniversary here and it was great! Exceptional service! Slightly noisy dining area. We loved the tour that showed us areas that would otherwise go unnoticed like the wine cellar, meat locker, and even the kitchen. Was very excited they had my favorite beer available ( St Bernardus Abt 12) at equal price of a beer/wine outlet. Filet Mignon was great. My ribeye was good, could've had more flavor. Chocolate chess pie was the best way to end the dinner!
We had a magnificent early light meal. The crackers and cheese are to hard not to pass up. Crab claws and salid were more than I could eat. The hamburger was so big I think 4 people could eat a meal from it. Service was outstanding. Big A plus for The Angus Barn.
My favorite restaurant. I love the Angus barn because of the history and atmosphere. The steak is always made perfect and you have to try the cheese and crackers.
I was so excited to try this place as we recently moved to RTP area and this was listed as one of the best steakhouses and who doesn t LOVE a good steak?! We had made a reservation and were seated right away (3 of us), however I m not sure if we were just in a crowded room, but it was crowded and just not the type of ambience for a $50 steak for one person. My drink was just OK (mixed drink) and we were waiting for our food for quite some time. It arrived and it was warm; not hot. In order my steaks as medium and this was over-cooked (Not by much) and dry. I told my husband we could ve gone to TRH for a third of the cost and gotten a better steak. I m giving three stars because our waiter was attentive and my husband did like his steak; but I honestly don t think I ll be back unless someone else chooses to eat here for a special occasion. There are plenty of other steakhouses I would rather spend the money at and get a perfect steak. This place just doesn t cut it for me.
Food was great the first time, second time we went there way to much sauce on ribs and so spicy I couldn't eat the food. Will give it one more try.....
WORTH THE WAIT. RESERVE AHEAD. The aged beef is absolutely the most top-notch beef you can get in the area, with the Chateaubriand taking center-stage with a flavor that is virtually indescribable.
Wait staff is highly professional, attentive, but not intrusive. The handmade cheese spreads, vegetables, crackers, rolls, and exotic olives brought to our table were a delight as we waited for our meals. Each salad was a fresh delight of well-balanced greens to dressing ratio. Steaks were not only cut to perfection, but grilled to perfection as well. Specialty mixed drinks were fun to try and The Angus Barn does not skimp on the alcohol. Our dinner was a perfect finish with homemade chocolate chess pie... and we loved it so much we bought one to take home.
The atmosphere is cozy, family-oriented, yet perfect for a romantic evening out. Soft lighting, linens, and an air of professionalism and focus on fine food prevailed. We purchased more cheese spread at the country store at the front of the restaurant, and thoroughly enjoyed the Colt revolver collection on display by the owner.
A unique and exceptional experience, one you will not leave disappointed with. The Angus Barn is a Raleigh must-do destination.
Fantastic service; Kiki was a pure pro with great humor. Huge slabs of beef served with sides grandma served. Elegance in an old barn that predates all but 5 companies in RTP or Brier Creek. This place is iconic and forever a great place to celebrate with family and friends; I hope it s here for another 60+ years.
Perfect for date night! The Angus Barn is always an amazing experience with the best food and service. I highly recommend trying a wedge salad and ending the night with pecan pie warmed up with a scoop of bourbon ice cream. Simply a dream come true!
Best meal in a restaurant I've had! Our waiter Jon did a great job. Everything was fresh and perfectly seasoned. It is rare I don't reach for salt and pepper. The soup of the day was really good! We had beef ribs and prime rib with lobster and a appetizer of crab cakes. All was of the highest quality. Well worth the tab and Jon made a nice tip from us.
The best steakhouse I have ever been to. Price is high but worth every penny. The service was good and I really enjoyed the little country store at the bottom of the resturant.
In town for a few days and had dinner in a Tuesday night. Amazing how busy it was but the service was excellent, the environment has a lovely country feel and the steak was called exactly to order!
We have been here a a few times now. I don't think the main dining area is anything special. My wife and I both love the Turkey lounge though. The steak sandwich up there is ridiculously good. Turkey lounge also has more of a rustic hunting cabin feel but is way more comfortable if you want to hang out and have a few drinks.
A true fine dining experience. The complimentary cheese and crackers help to absorb the long wait, as do the well made drinks st the bar. Service with a smile complimented with a perfect medium cooked 2 inch thick 10oz filet and twice potato. The culinary skill to cook a steak that thick to perfection shows there commitment to quality and hiring the right chefs. The long wait is forgotten about after seating. After all, if it wasn't good there would no wait.
Our waitress was cordial and very professional. She was very knowledgeable about the menu selections. My filet mignon was cooked to order and delicious. Service was excellent!
Very beautiful decor. The private rooms and service were phenomenal. Lots of history in the whole building from the wine to the furniture. I felt so taken care of and the private tour was incredibly interesting.
Very Interesting and sprawling steak house barn themed location. Food was good albeit very large to almost excessive portion sizings, staff efficient and very attentive, the price matches.
The barn is beautiful, the food was very good, and the atmosphere overall was cozy. This would be a great place for a romantic date, a group dinner, or just a night out. The price may appear high but the quality of the food is well worth it.
The atmosphere was very nice. The food for the most part was so good. But my husbands filet came out pretty rare when he asked for it to be medium well. He left more than half on the plate. That's one of the reasons for 3 stars. Now, you would think this would get some attention for our waiter. Not at all. Our waiter, Joel B. had something going on with him. Before even greeting us he immediately started taking silverware off the table. Then asked if we cared for any drinks other than water and we said not at this moment. Then took the wine list and all the wine glasses. There were a few times we thought things might get better because of the very short conversation we had with him but it did not last. We felt we were rushed thru our meal and he did not care. Hey, we went to the Angus Barn for a very special occasion for our family and we don't expect for everything to go perfect but when we spend that kind of money I get better service at the local hole in the wall burger joint.
Best service ever! Our waitress accidently knocked our wine bottle off the table and they offered us 2 glasses each of their own wine on the house, waived the corkage fee and even gave us a free cake (for the birthday girl) and free tour of the place. I like that they remind guests to keep phone use at a minimum. The only complaint I would have is the noise level.
Great ambiance and food! Well worth the wait and price. We went here for my brothers 21st birthday and they were so nice and friendly to us. My mom has many food allergies and they were very accommodating with that and even have a separate allergy kitchen where special orders go to make sure they are free of any allergens. This was a very special touch that made my mom feel so great as she can't eat many places because of her allergies.
I haven't been here in years but the food is just as good as I remember. The cheddar cheese spread is amazing and their drinks are superbly made! The lighting is perfect as its not too bright and not too dim. I had the three cheese ravioli in marinara sauce. Delicious! I think I might start back coming more than every few years.
This is the ultimate place to go!, great customer service, waitress was a very delightful person, especially with my 2 year old granddaughter and the atmosphere was awesome.
A Raleigh long time tradition. Superior service & bar & world class wine cellar. Salads and accoutrements are wonderful. Beef is the main course. Last visit provided a very good but not as great a steak as previous visits. Late May ,'18
My partner took me here for our anniversary, it was our first time there. Upon walking in we were blown away by the layout! Everything throughout the night from the service, food, and tour at the end was wonderful. Very professionally done and felt welcomed by everyone. We are looking forward to going back again but it was still very pricey so probably only for special occasions. Our waitress Karla and hostess Megan was wonderful!!! Greg who did our tour was wonderful also and the chefs during the tour were fun to interact with. You guys all rock and we look forward to another great experience.
A lot of hype that did not match the expected food experience, specially when you take consideration on how much you will spend. Service was ok, but it really just missed the mark food wise. Our soups were cold and some of our steaks were not cooked correctly.
Here from Houston. Hotel front desk folks at hilton garden inn highly recommended it. Awesome experiece- great ambience, steak, wine and stogie. Will be back.
Great place to eat. Had a great time with the entire family. Food was great. Everyone enjoyed themselves. We ate like kings/queens. It wasn't dinner, it was a FEAST!
The food here is absolutely AMAZING!!! You will eat so much food you definitely will not leave hungry. The service is phenomenal. There are many perks that go along with the dining experience such as complimentary food while you wait for your table or the dessert cart that goes around to show you your options. You will spend money though, at least like 200 just for 2 people but its totally worth it. I am definitely going back and I can't wait.
It was my first time at the Angus Barn. The food was good but I did have one major concern. The steak came with the bone separate from the meat. It did not appear that the piece of meat we received actually came from that bone. I'm positive it didn't there was no cut marks in the piece of meat. What I think they do is give everyone that same bone....to me it's just weird that they do that. The waitress forewarned us....but come on...leave the meat on the bone. The only reason you'd do that is you actually gave me another cut. It was $38 and so leave the steak on the bone.
Love this place. We always have a meal here when we are in town and I have even made a tradition to travel down with my little guy to have a great guy's meal. They do it right. Great food. Awesome staff. Must try. The steaks are great cuts. The sides are delicious. Good wine list. Delicious salads. The ambiance is fantastic. We love The wild Turkey Lounge upstairs. Keep up the outstanding job!
I was so extremely underwhelmed when I ate here. I read so many great reviews! Our waiter was so inattentive and slow. My husband and I were dressed down, so maybe they were under the impression that we wouldn t tip well. I assume that may have had an impact on the service (which is sad because when my husband was in college he worked as a waiter and understands how important tipping is). What I ordered was just OK, but my husbands filet mignon was the best I ve ever had. It melted like butter on the tongue. Perfectly cooked and not overly seasoned. But I ve had better service at Chick Fil A, and I ll never come back here.
