Not just an excellent meal, excellent memories too

Went for my birthday, had one of the most wonderful filets, edges out Firebirds by a nose even, which for me says a lot. Daughter got one too and gave it two thumbs up. Wife got a salad, though in all the fun I forgot to ask how she liked it.
.
More importantly, when I asked the effervescent lady at the hostess stand to take a photo on the way out, what had thus far been just a fabulous birthday meal, turned into an evening of memories I'll cherish a lifetime. Turns out she's Van, the owner, who I doubt has a competitor in the field of delightful personality. She gave us a red carpet tour, and all throughout we bumped into regular customers, many who've been coming for years, one such young gent who said he comes 4 nights a week. And all the customers just love her, lots of chattiness and hugs. She's just real people. Since as it turned out their pianist had called in due to the weather and Van learned I play really well, I even got to entertain the crowd on their really nice sounding baby grand in the turkey lounge, with my daughter singing a few tunes as well, and wow, the customers were nearly as memorably awesome as Van was.
.
In summary, the food is legendary, the atmosphere incredible, the service unmatched, and memories priceless. Whether your well-heeled with discerning tastes, or down to earth and prefer a more casual atmosphere, this place caters to all perfectly with a comfortable, welcoming feeling that obviously starts at the top and continues through the staff, but so much so that it even finds its way to the guests.
.
Thanks Van not just for a wonderful meal, but for the memories.

My son and I have been here numerous times over the years and have always been pleased. On the last visit we were invited to take, "The Tour". We left with an even better impression of the place.
Fine food and even better service.

My wife and I have had dinner several times here. The service and food are always great. Tonight was disappointing because it literally took an hour and twenty minutes for our dinner to come to our table. I know it was a Friday night, but when spending well over $100 it s quite a long time to wait for a meal after waiting a while to be seated even with having reservations.

Everything was mediocre at best, but never felt like it was worth it. I took my parents there to eat because my father has been a union butcher for over 20 years in NY. The scenery was ok but felt like if the lights were on brighter you'd see dust everywhere. We were dressed well but not in our Sundays best, I don't know if it was because of that or we are New Yorkers but employees made us feel uncomfortable as if we couldn't afford the service.

Service is great, food is good, the bathrooms were extremely clean. Melissa is a good/ok waitress. The decisions were vary cool and interesting. And the set up in the decisions were vary creative.

Ambiance is fun, rustic. Come during Christmas and see the upside down Christmas tree. Don't miss the Wild Turkey bar upstairs featuring the largest collection of Wild Turkey containers (decanters?) in the world!

Angus Barn is always a treat but so much more at holiday time with the decorations! People come out to partake and it is crowded but the staff handles it so well and everyone is in high spirits so it is fun and festive!

This place is a lot of fun. Great service, really enjoyable food...a little on the pricey side, but worth it. The Meat Locker is really cool...if you enjoy an occasional cigar, check it out!

My wife and I were beyond excited to visit this place after hearing it mentioned frequently over the last year that we have lived together in Raleigh. The positives of the experience include the atmosphere of the dining room, the amazing service we received from our waitress, the timing and pacing of the food once our orders were in, the quality and taste of my wife's bacon wrapped filet, and the dessert. The main negative of the experience, and what brings my review from a 5 start to a 3 star was the ribeye that I ordered. It had absolutely no flavor to it, and while it was cooked medium-rare perfectly, it had absolutely no flavor, not even salt and pepper. I'm not sure if this is a standard for them in so much that they believe their beef is so superior that they choose not to season meat before cooking it, but the ribeye left a lot to be desired. If we make a return trip, I'll definitely be trying something else.

Wow. That s how this started off. This place is amazing. I took the wife here for Valentine s Day. This was both our first times here. When you pull up the place looks amazing to the eye. They have a huge parking lot with little barns and shed. Some are for the lovely landscape and some are to sit and talk or take a picture and be amused. We walked right in to the huge and inviting lobby. They had cheese and cracker trays with sausage and a couple other items available to nibble while you wait to be seated. It took maybe five minutes for our names to be called and to be escorted to the romantic table they had reserved for us. They know how to take a reservation and keep the reservations for you so the wait was minimal. They waitresses that helped and walked us through our first time there was great. She asked how I wanted my steak. I made a joke and said boiled. She started writing and smiled. I then said no I was just joking I like it mid rare. She then said that they will make anyone happy and request will be meet. This place is top of the line and puts their customers first and for most. We each ordered a steak. You don t even need a knife, they cut like butter and taste like heaven just dropped in your mouth. After the meal the waitress saw my wife loved the bread. With out even asking she packed some up for us and had it ready with the check. This place is swell. For the price we payed and the food and service we received I aint mad. I aint mad at all. I think you get what you pay for and they undersell themselves because it doesn t get any better than Angus Barn.

Absolutely wonderful experience! Of course, the prices are steep, but completely worth the price. Definitely worth saving up for a special date night. The service is excellent and the steaks are scrumptious!

THe Angus Barn has a great external layout. There is a large car park also. Inside the decor is warm and has a character feel. So it's not just a room with tables etc. The staff are very warming and not pushy re service. We were a table of 17 so had to pre book but no issues. Any table booking over 8 has to be called in and reserved by cc. The range of steaks was varied so offered all a good choice. Over all no complaints from any of the team. Value for money was on par for a highly recommended place. Worth the visit if you like good value good cooked steaks.

Starting to recognize some age. Felt a little rushed at our table and not super kid friendly. But overall a nice atmosphere and delicious dinner for our daughter birthday. The free cake is such a treat for the whole group!

We visit the Barn roughly 3 times a year. Once around Christmas to see the decorations and occasionally when we are free to enjoy an evening without the kids. Rarely do I leave reviews due to the under appreciation of the "customer" in the service industry But our experience was more than expected on an early Sunday evening..... Clay in the turkey lounge waited on us, and hands down the best service we have ever had at any restaurant. I left telling my wife that regardless of the price we felt appreciated as a customer!! Looking forward to our next visit!! Thank you Angus Barn!! (Raleigh native, and local business owner)

First time here and we will definitely will be back. Everything was delicious, we didn't have reservations, and the place was crowded!!! However,we got a table within 40 minutes, the portions were big, the appetizers were tasty and the bill wasn't that bad!
The only not so good I would say were the pork ribs, they smelled like old meat and because they were covered on the sauce you couldn't really tell, but when I bit into I, my mouth confirmed what my nose detected. Old meat, yuck! I would not order pork ribs again. But, but everything else was fresh, and delicious regardless of the bad experience with the pork I will be back for some other entrees!
This is kinda fancy dinner place, so I was surprised when the bill came and we didn't loose an arm or a leg.

The Angus Barn is an exceptional restaurant with amazing service and the best food I have ever tasted. The steak is always perfectly cut and perfectly cooked, the sides are always a treat, and the chocolate chess pie is the most heavenly thing you could ever taste. The decorations are always stunning, especially around the holidays. The staff is amazing, very quick and willing to do whatever it takes to make your visit the best you've ever had. I would recommend this establishment to every person I know.

Awesome place, tons to do. We spent 4.5 hours in the blink of an eye. The steak had to be sent back, and the replacement was just okay (I can count on one had the times I've had to send food back). Service certainly made up for it, and they brought out awesome ribs to help make up for it. Take the tour and smoke a cigar in the meat locker.

The atmosphere, Christmas heaven. The service is excellent and the food is delicious. It might seem pricy, but the ambience, quality of food and amount of food makes this place worth the visit. Complimentary starter plate, gneenrous salads and good portions.
