Great food and the service was excellent as usual. They were especially good with the younger ones.

Always top notch service and food. You can't go wrong at the Angus Barn!
Always a dining pleasure.... knowledgeable and friendly staff with impeccable service. What more could you ask for? Many return visits will be enjoyed.
Pleasant experience, the server was attentive, the food was cook as requested. Im not sure what the hoopla is about this place though as I thought I've had steaks just as good at other places, making here just twice as expensive.
Cozy place to dine with friends, have a good wine and learn about the history of N.C.
DELICIOUS food and amazing staff, highly recommend!
Pretty special local place with lots of character, historical representations and interesting stories. Food was pricy but worth it. Certainly worth the visit for sure!
Awesome people, cozy atmosphere, good food. Great time
Such a unique and wonderful atmosphere, especially at Christmas. Food was great too!
Definitely a high end steak house. As soon as you enter you are welcomed through the kitchen. We were a really big group. We had a special room in the basement, got a tour of the cellar and treated with some quality food.
You want MEAT? This is the spot! Service is great! Kids get to customize their desserts!
The food and service are amazing. They are able to host 100s of people but you dont feel it.
Excellent service and food. Connor took great care of us tonight and had great recommendations.
Went with a friend on spur of the moment ..was thoroughly impressed with atmosphere staff food cocktails..all in all a 5 star experience. Very interesting and will be back again!
Service was pretty great. The food itself was definitely not worth the price. The local reputation seems to be what this place is surviving off of.
Awesome celebration - great Covid precautions- loved it!
Executive chef is an Iron Chef winner! We reserve it for special occasions such as birthdays and anniversaries and have had fantastic experiences every time. Customer service is top-notch as well as the quality of the food. For a special occasion, make sure to book the Captain's Table in the private cellar room's catering kitchen (call ahead to find out scheduling, could be a 6 month+ waiting list). Hubby surprised me with a 5-course wine tasting dinner for one of our anniversaries and the food was not only phenomenal but plentiful. They even made adjustments to the menu (you partook of whatever the menu was for the private dinner taking place in the cellar room) because of dietary restrictions. They even printed a beautiful copy of the menu for me to take as a memento of the evening. Overall - an epic dining experience and NOT to be missed when visiting this Eastern NC landmark. Even for walk-in dining, ask for a tour, enjoy the cheese and cracker appetizers and try the chopped salad and humungous beef ribs.
Loved our server Persell..and the food was amazing!
Dining in the wine cellar is a once in a lifetime experience and the service was too notch. Truly a great menu and they really make you feel as though you can ask for anything Joel was a fabulous server!
Very good food, but don't expect a great value. This place is very expensive. The service is great, all wait staff is very attentive and will make sure you are having a great experience. The menu is short, but everything on there is exceptional. Great place to celebrate a special event
Wonderful Everything !!! Service.. Food .. and Staff !!! And Just Beautiful inside and Out!!!
Excellent beef, potatoes and ribs. Carrots left a lot to be desired though.
Asked for medium rare but seared New York strip. It came out medium well...twice. Our order was taken an hour after we were seated, what's up with that?
Massive place. Major name in the steak game but feels pretty commercialized to me.
What a divine experience! I am in love. Our server Andy was such a doll. He gave us plenty of time to make decisions, offered expert advice & even gave us a tour of the restaurant! The quality of food is outstanding, but I think the atmosphere is what has kept my heart swollen with this fantastic feeling of awe. And the wine list? Oh hell yes. It is filled with everything you'd ever hope to find, and there are plenty of gems for true enthusiasts. Bravo! We can't wait to come back!
Can't beat the Barn... whether for a wedding or company event at The Pavilion or romantic dinner at the Captain's Table, or business meal, it's a great time with exceptional service.
Set up for a corporate event. Good food, the hors d'oeuvres were fantastic.
So this place is amazing, however, the ambience is odd because everything about the food and service screams fine dining yet the decor and seating is extremely casual. That said, the food is amazing and service was wonderful, expect to pay a little more than your average dinner.
Very fun. Cool atmosphere. Excellent service. Food is amazing!!!
Went here with a large group. They were very accommodating. I would suggest reservations. Wait times were 2-3 hrs without. It is slow service, but with the quality of food and presentation it is fine. I got the 15oz NY strip cooked medium well. It was cooked perfect and had great flavor. Twice baked potato side dish is great too. I had regular mashed potatoes and they offer to add in bacon, butter etc free tableside. Had an old fashion as well, not the best but still good. Pricey but worth it. Gotta try it if you are in the area.
We arrived without knowing this place beforehand, only by a recommendation obtained on the internet that it was the best Raleigh Steak House ..... and it's true !!
The place is impressive for the size and style ..... but the food is phenomenal !!
Go there if you pass by Raleigh .... I don't know how to regret it !!
Great steaks and bake potatoes. Great atmosphere for dinner, and the Turkey Lounge bar is perfect for pre-dinner drinks.
I took my Cousin here for her baby shower today. what a great time top notch service. she had a great time.. our server Will in the loft area was excellent..
The waitress was great but the meal was way below average. I ordered the beef ribs and they were terrible. My buddy ordered the prime rib and he said it was one of the worst meals he has ever had. The portion size was over the top but quantity doesn't equal quality and I am really baffled by how the locals all think this place is fantastic. When I visit the area again I won't be going to the Angus Barn. 150 bucks wasted..
Best atmosphere, customer service and food! Definitely am returning... it is a "destination" type of place and not in a 'tourist's way but as a quality dining experience
Awesome place with amazing food. Old time country setting with upscale dining and service.
If you never been here, you ate missing out, this place should get 10 stars, the service and food is off the charts. The history behind this place makes it historic. You have to do a tour. They have a separate kitchen for people with food allergies, they have a room filled with old time weapons, they are very Veteran friendly and you get a bottle of wine signed by owner thanking you for your service, I could write a book, just stop reading and call for a reservation.
Have never had a bad experience here.
You just have to try it.
$$$
One star for every cheese that I tasted on my three cheese ravioli lolz
Great atmosphere and service but not all the food was up to what you would expect. The filet I ordered was overcooked and dry, the key lime pie was frozen, and the server messed up our orders twice. Other food was fantastic. Drinks were good.
Cute decor. Don t like seating - crowded and noisy. Food was okay.
Thus place is absolutely wonderful and they take such great care of you!
Literally the best restaurant I've ever eaten at. Make sure you call ahead you'll need reservations.
There is a reason that this is the most respected establishment in Raleigh. Is is the most respected because they deserve it. The food is beyond compare as is the service. From the moment that you roll into the parking lot until the time you leave you will me taken care of in a way that guarantees that you will return.
Always a great experience, wait is a little long but the atmosphere makes up for it.
Great experience and vibe. Service occasionally awkward. Food is good, can be inconsistent quality-wise sometimes.
They are all set for the holidays and every room is decked out...fabulous!
I went to the Angus barn with my date, the day after Thanksgiving. I was so exited to go there, as I have heard that they have delicious steak. However, my date and I had a lackluster experience. When we arrive there, my data and I walked up the stairs and had to see that one of the tables, because we did not have any reservations. We sat there for a good 45 minutes and no one even approached us to ask if we would like a drink or if we would like to order. The gentleman that I was with, I had to flag down a busboy to ask him to find our waiter so that we can order. Once the waiter arrived, he said "I did not approach you guys, because I did not want to interrupt your conversation." after we placed our order, the food arrived after about 30 minutes. I ordered a ribeye steak and mashed potatoes. The steak was not very good, as it was lukewarm and was not seasoned very well. The waiter never came to our table to check on us to see if we needed anything else, and we had to again, ask someone to find our waiter so that we can some wine. I honestly don't know why people like this place so much but I will not be going back there, as the service was bad and the food was just mediocre. I go to Ruth's Chris quite often, and the service is amazing and, the steak is always sizzling when they bring it to your table. They even call you the next day, to ask you how your experience was and if there is anything that they can do to make your experience better. If you're looking for a classy restaurant with great service and great food I would suggest Ruth's Chris. And I just want to say that I do not work for them, (I have my own business) I just enjoy great service and great food.
Maybe I was expecting more from the reviews as well as the exorbitant PRICES, but the food was nothing to write home about. And the steak was no better than a Long Horn cut. Wasn't bad per-se, just not as spectacularly delicious as I was expecting.
We had a lovely supper for a special birthday dinner. I hadn't expected the experience to be so great, as I thought this place was overpriced for medium quality food in the past. But, the steaks were excellent, the crab appetizer was great, and the desserts were pretty good. The waiter brought our children to the kitchen so they could custom decorate a special birthday cake for our table - they loved it! Overall, it was still overpriced, but the atmosphere, the warm attitude of the staff, and the surprisingly good quality made for a great evening. I'm glad we went!
At Christmas this place.is decorated to the hilt and the food is see econd to none.
Ambiance is a bit schmalzy, it's large, busy and noisy. While you wait downstairs, there is a refrigerated section with buckets of cheese spread and crackers. The service was good, the food was good overall, but not extraordinary and definitely overpriced. There are much better choices in the area.
First, this place is huge!!! But once settled it still has an intimate feel, as it's all sectioned off nicely. Great food and friendly service. Oysters on the half shell and their rib appetizers are a must, and of course the steak is the staple here for mains. I had the beef tenderloin with blue cheese mash potatoes, medium rare beef was melt in your mouth tender, and the mash was a great compliment with the blue cheese. Overall a fantastic experience and will gladly visit again.
Thank you Angus Barn for doing at an amazing job last night for our daughter's celebration! JR our waiter was awesome and so attentive! Food was delicious! I would recommend this restaurant!!!!!
Decided to take my husband for a nice prime rib steak, because that's our favorite piece of steak... was told Angus barn was the best place to be! I totally disagree I give Angus barn 4-10 (10 being the best) this was really a huge disappointment, the steaks were very bland and for them to be medium well they were extremely tough... we also ordered the king beef ribs... and again and huge disappointment at them being over cooked and dried out our waiter was extremely pleasant but this would not be a restaurant I would recommend or visit in the near future... if your enjoy bland flavorless foods this is the best place for you.
