Went on Valentine's day (02/14/2019). Great service and food! Be prepared to have a $100+ food ticket to pay but totally worth it. Love the decor and atmosphere. Great place to eat for a special occasion.

Ask for the wine cellar tour. One of the best wine cellars on the East coast. Continuously rated as being top of the line. Meat is excellent. Quantities are huge. Get the waiter to give you a tour. Lots of lunch cal character.

My experience was a bit disappointing. This was a family outing to celebrate a special occasion. The atmosphere is nice and the service staff are very friendly, but the food was meh. Most of us ordered steaks of various kinds, and no matter how we ordered them, they all came in one step over cooked. For example, I ordered mine medium rare, and it came medium. The food was also over salted, which I know is typical of steakhouses, but this is a high end steakhouse and they should know better. The deserts were quite good, so proper credit there. But the main feature of a steak house is the steak! Really, for the price I expected my steak to be absolutely fantastic. Instead it was about the same as what I would get at a fairly good steak house at half the price. Disappointing.

What's not to love? Wild Turkey lounge, cigar bar, the wine cellar, the atmosphere, and of course great food... Let's not forget the chef, Walter Royale. Not only is he an Iron Chef winner, he holds the highest score ever given! This place is the real deal. In town for work? GO. Nothing to do on any day of the week? Take your wife on a date, it's a sure thing! Need to wind down after work? Grab a friend and enjoy a drink and the atmosphere. It's worth it!

This has to be the best steakhouse I've ever been to In My Life! The steak was so tender and so well made there are no words to describe how wonderful it was! Also I would highly recommend you arrive early and take the tour it. The tour was amazing to see the back stage of the restaurant.

This was our anniversary and it was wonderful. Even though my husband was served a steak that was tough and he couldn't eat it, our server offered to prepare one for him to take home. Then when he paid our check he saw that his dinner was comped.
All of this was greatly appreciated. This was the first restaurant we have been to since the pandemic started.
You had all the needed precautions in place and we felt very safe. That night out was a blessing. Thank you.

Waiter john was a nice guy but the waiting was horrible. I had reservations for 9pm and didnt get seated until about 30 minutes later. When My friends and i got seated and weren't approached and asked anything until 15 minutes later, after drinks we again didnt get any service until another 15 minutes later and finally after taking our orders we didnt get our food till 20 minutes later. My wife literally fell asleep on the table and my friends and I were even running out of conversation. Although the food was good the experience took the great out of it. This was my first time there as I'm scouting homes here and heard great things about this place, just wished it was great as they said.

Both our waiter and waitress were wonderful. Very attentive. The food was delicious and, since we were celebrating my birthday, we got a free pound cake. The atmosphere is very romantic. We will definitely be back.

I truly enjoyed dining at Angus Barn during the Holiday season for their fabulous decorations, especially the welcoming atmosphere. Reservations are highly suggested for the dining room. You can head upstairs and grab the next available seat at the Wild Turkey Lounge bar; having dinner there means you're sure to be serenaded by the piano player.

While you are waiting for a table, try not to over indulge on the complimentary white and cheese cheddar spread with crackers, olives and pickles before your meal.

The interior is decorated with small items of vintage knickknacks: dolls, toys, dishes, silver flatware, musical instruments, typewriters, clocks, patches, purses, hats, advertisements, magazines, and a gun showcase on the wall. Throughout the restaurant when you go upstairs are pictures of famous celebrities that have dined at The Angus Barn.

Be sure to check out Angus Barn s elaborate wine and liquor menu that will surely give diners the perfect ambiance of alcohol beverages to go along with an elegant meal.

After a brief introduction to the menu, we chose our drinks and started on appetizers:
Raw oysters
Rockefeller oysters
Shrimp cocktail
Ribs
Crab Cakes

Each entree comes with a side item, along with dinner rolls and a salad. The Spinach salad is highly recommended as the dressing is Poppy Seed based vinaigrette.

Must try:

Salmon - was cooked to perfection!
Prime Rib - tender and juicy

The great service continued throughout the evening as the servers kept the bread crumbs cleared from the table, and the sweet tea and water glasses full.

The Angus Barn is my favorable place to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries. Be sure to let your server or the receptionist know in advance as a complimentary pound cake is served to honor your celebration.

To sum it up, The Angus Barn is a beautiful place with a classy atmosphere and delicious food as the portions are very generous. The food has a level of true finesse that makes each plate a work of art, not only in appearance but in flavor and textures. The service was fast and efficient, and you will not feel rushed to finish your meal.

The Angus Barn also provides
* Valet parking
* Outside front patio lounge area with a bar
* Small shop to purchase merchandise, chocolate chess pies, pound cakes and cheese spreads
* First class service

Note: Call in Take Out orders are not available. You have to actually dine in.

I've been going to the Angus barn for about 38 years. It used to be a great dinner and a great place to meet and see friends from in and around the Raleigh area. Since about 93 the food starting to decline. Around 05 the food was mediocre at best. As of today they served us raw chicken. For a place that sells wine at 5600 a bottle you'd think they could cook a bird. If you wanna grab a drink in the Wild Turkey Longe or look at the holiday decorations then ok. No longer will I be eating there.

The angus Barn revisted! Went here before and was none too impressed.
Update: Wife took me for my birthday, and was met so much better this time. Got in quick with reservation, seated quickly and treated warmly.
Started of with the crackers and cheese spreads, and ordered shortly after.
42oz Tomahawk Ribeye, bone in, med-rare with Garlic Mashed and a nice Merlot.
The steak was cooked perfect, just enough fat to cook through the meat and flavor, but not grissley to ruin the cut! Charred on the outside, and perfect on the inside. Excellent and worth the price for the quality. A-la-cart seems to be gone aswell, so not overly pricey for sides!
Had French Onion as a side as well, very, very good!
Wife had the petite filet bacon wrapped, and garlic mashed aswell. Very, very good!
Our waiter was on top of it, and the somalia's wine offering was great match! Dry Merlot, with bursts of black berry, and a light finish of sweetness on the back end!
Will definitely be going here alot more since my first visit was no where near as great as this time around!

The saying "you get what you pay for" definitely applies here. Expect to pay around $50-100 per person before tips. That being said, the food is first class. Everything is well portioned and very flavorful. They have a limited menu right now for Covid but still have plenty of options. When we went they had a special for $58 that included a 7oz bacon wrapped filet mignon, a skewer of shrimp, and a lobster tail. That was the best value on the menu and I highly recommend. I recommend you get the wedge salad if you have never had one before. They also offer a few toppings for the steak. The au piovre style filet mignon is very good. The atmosphere and staff are both very charming. It is always a wonderful experience to dine here

Beautiful, beautiful, beautiful place. I was seated at the Wild Turkey Lounge, which was so cozy, and a different seating than I've ever had in any other restaurant. To clarify, the lounge seating is quite literally in lounge chairs, with a relaxed soft lighting all around.
The table was a bit small for our party of 6, especially given the generous portion sizes of our meals. I ordered a 10 oz. Prime Rib with a Lobster Tail for $57 which isn't cheap but it isn't terrible either.
There was about an hour long wait to be seated. My waitress was a bit snappy, and so was the bartender downstairs, but service was relatively quick after we were seated.
All things considered, this was a 4-star experience.

It's way overpriced for the quality and quantity you get. It's probably so the owner(s) can afford their Ferrari and other luxuries. Also, the service is very slow, regardless of the time of year.

The meals were plentiful and extremely delicious. The desserts made fresh daily were out of this world. Our server Katelyn and the rest of the staff were very polite and attentive, the ambiance was as if you were at home having dinner with family and friends.

Extremely pleased with the service! We had a dinner reservation for about 12 people and was told we wouldn't be seated for about 2 1/2 hours; we ended up only waiting 1hour! The waiter was extremely professional and courteous and so were the owners! This is my second time coming and I'm absolutely sure it's not going to be my last!!

Always an experience to visit the Angus Barn. I brought my 20 month old on my most recent visit and was pleasantly surprised by how kid friendly they are! She LOVED going into the kitchen to make her own ice cream as part of her kids meal. Great experience for her!

The Angus Barn is a place where you must visit on special occasions if you live in Central North Carolina. If you are visiting from out of state and looking for an amazing steak- this is the place. They age the meat and cut it themselves- it is absolutely one of the best steakhouses in the Southeast, see their website for the full story. I have even gone here for holidays such as Thanksgiving and they go all out. This business is an asset to the State of North Carolina. Call for reservations.

What an absolutely amazing place! You literally can t see this entire restaurant and it s facilities in a single trip. The food and beverages are out of this world. The steak and food selection lived up to their expectations and I have NEVER seen a wine bible like they offer here (82 pages long). Also, if you re a bourbon head you can get a pour of some of the most sought after rare whiskey brands on the market today here! Definitely don t forget your wallet... with a great time comes a great fee! ($100 per person is a minimum rule of thumb here)

I've dined at this restaurant on many occasions but last Friday, the food was awful! My steak wasn't prepared well and did not live up to the reputation of Angus Barn. The service was slow and I had to send my drink back and ended up not drinking it at all. Our waiter graciously deducted the drink from our check. The crackers and cheese that they normally service prior to the meal was okay. My salad and french bread were okay too. However the steak, mashed potatoes and roasted tomato were not tasty. I'm not sure if this restaurant has gone down in terms of quality and service. For the price, I would not recommend. This was a birthday dinner and even the traditional pound cake that they give to you was not good. We ended up at Firebirds at North Hills for drinks and an appetizers.

Me and my husband usually go every month and we both say the staff and management are great. We really enjoy the food, and when you are celebrating something like your birthday or anniversary they really go all out to let you know they care about you. Mrs. Van is the sweetest person you every want to meet. We Love you all and we pray that you all continue to grow in your business.

Every time I am in NC I have to go eat here. Love it, the food is great to say the least and the staff is wonderful. I so recommend this place. If I could give it more than five stars I would. One thing call for reservations or you may not get in any time soon.

One of the best steakhouse I have been to. Atmosphere is unique and the food is amazing. Price is quite reasonable considered the quality and quantity. Take the tour if possible, you get to see the wine cellar and the private dining rooms in the basement.

Had a party in one of the wine cellar rooms. Had the t course meal. Started with crackers and cheese. The cheese was great ans can be bought in their gift shop. The cellar room was very picturesque. Great for pictures. The staff was knowledgeable about the history of the business. The main restaurant was very busy. Great outdoor waiting area though. I went here for my birthday. It was my first time going to the angus barn. The steak was very delicious, they also had excellent wine selections. I suggest to taste some wine there. The food was phenomenal. The customer service was excellent. I expected it to be good and it was.
