I had not been in 20 years as my disappointment from 20 years ago shadowed any desire to go back. But I did and got the prime rib
It was just okay. I expect more than just okay from a $30 piece of meat. However, will will say that the service was impeccable!

Went to the the outdoor area called the meatlocker. With COVID-19 they have a good system in place where you drive up and they take your number then have you park and then let you know when the table is ready ( we didn't do a res). They take you through the main dining room and you enjoy food and drink outside. Very nice.

This was an amazing dinner for my Husband's birthday !!! Everything was so beautiful. Even our server Monica made sure we had the best experience and brought a whole pound cake out for my Husband's birthday. We had a great time and will definitely go back . Make a reservation if you can . So glad I did because wait time can be long .

I've been coming here with my family for years, but i've got to say it is overrated. The food is delicious, i can't deny that, but you certainly pay for it. I like to come once a year, but i have noticed that they leave the "Christmas" looking lights up what seems to be all year. It looks very tacky in my opinion. Still a great place for a meal and will always recommend highly.

You can't go wrong going here. Impeccable service and attention to detail. Went here for our anniversary. Made reservations. They were ready for us when we got there. We got the combo steak and lobster. Hated to take the last bite it was so good. Onion soup extremely tasty and cheesy. Our go to for special occasions. Worth every bit spent. Not cheap but you get great quality for the money.

Sometimes staff is great and the rest of the time they're awful. This is a classic Raleigh establishment, and it is worth going for a special occasion. Steaks and holiday buffets are great. The chocolate chess pie and soda crackers with cheese are what I go for (and they can be purchased any time in the gift shop!)

It's pretty good, the steaks are delicious and the staff is filled with some of the friendliest people I've ever met. We had a server once that went out of his way to make sure our sons had a fantastic experience, even taking them into the kitchen to pick out their own ice cream. My work also help a function at their banquet area and wow...it was simply amazing. Pricey, but worth it.

Very beautiful, elegant setting to enjoy a fantastic dinner. Food was cooked to perfection (as known for), the wine cellar tour leaves you awe-stricken. Highly recommend, you won't be dissatisfied.

Expensive Everything! I was traveling with a group of 16 that was having a YOS celebration for an employee. Company was picking up the tab, but man.. they stick it to you. The server tricked us into about $400 worth of apps. We didn't know they charged by the piece. So it was 8 bucks for this, 6 bucks for that, etc. He said we needed 4 trays for the group. We ate, drank, and were merry. Total bill was over $1600. Then the guest of honor was asked to check out cigars. The server demanded a tip for taking him there, too. It was an adventure, but......Be Careful!

Ate here probably 10 times over the past 5 years. The service is always top notch and they take great care of you. Food has been declining in quality though. Steak has more fat and doesn t taste as good as it used to. Sides and desserts are still great.

Outstanding food and awesome service. We had reservations, arrived a bit early, and were seated right away. The relish dish and the cheese spreads were very good. Our main meals were cooked as ordered and tasted great. The blackberry cobbler was EXCELLENT!!! Our server, Michael, was attentive and knowledgeable. Thank you for great service. The manager stopped by twice to ensure that all was well. Highly recommended for any occasion!

Wow! The Best restaurant I have every been to for steak and seafood. The cheese and crackers served before the appetizers was made in- house, as well as the crackers. The crab appetizer was the best; creamy with fresh bread. The lobster melted in my mouth and no need for butter. The steak was "The Best" I have ever had. No need for a steak fork a butter knife would have worked. Every bite made me smile. A Very friendly and kind server. The restroom was truly a rest room. Set in the Victorian age, white and gold petal sinks, Victorian chairs, breath mints, cloth towels. The restroom was so nice I almost took pictures. It's a historic building as well and you can get tours of the 2 story barn. Just a Awesome experience and food.

Was one of the worst experiences I have ever had. My card was changed $200.00 over the amount of my bill. Was told that it would be cleared up and tKen care of by the morning. Not true! Called and spoke to accounting dept. and they say it will take 3-5 days to clear up. Not okay. Spoke to the controller and he s going to work with me and hopefully get amount credited back to my account that was over charged, however, no one apologized and no offer to encourage us to come back as I told them that this was first time my boyfriend had ever visited their establishment and that we would never return. Surprised that they didn t seem to care.

Usually we enjoy our experience at the Angus Barn, but this time we were disappointed. Loved the decorations. Petite filets were overcooked (we ordered medium, they were closer to well done). They were not very tender. A recent filet at The Peddler was superior by far. Service was slow and sporadic, not that we were in a hurry, but it was slower than one might expect. We had to ask for small plates for rolls; a cake was brought for our friend, but no plates or utensils were provided. Server was very friendly, however she could have been more observant as to needs. We went there for a fine dining experience for our friend's birthday and came away disappointed in the what we received for our money.

Great atmosphere and experience. The decorations and warm barn/lodge feel during the Christmas season make this a great annual tradition.

The steak pictured is the 22oz Prime Rib prepared rare with steamed mixed veggies. Delicious!

Angus barn is a very well known name in Raleigh, and my husband and I wanted to try it since we've never been. We wanted to see if it lived up to the hype. The give you so much food before your main course arrives. House made crackers and cheese, bread rolls and butter, then a salad. I got the shrimp and filet combo with mashed potatoes. The filet comes bacon wrapped, and I asked to have it removed but when it came out it was cooked with the bacon, so disappointing. The temperature of the steak was cooked perfectly, but it just tasted like bacon. It was so disappointing to pay that much for a steak and it just tasted like bacon-especially when I asked for it to be taken off. The shrimp was delicious. The mashed potatoes were LOADED with garlic. I couldn't eat all of it because the only flavor garlic, and it was too strong for me. They gave us a pound cake for our anniversary which was nice! It was very good.
