There is nothing more to say than going to Angus Barn is an experience. It is not just dinner or a restaurant. Service is excellent. Atmosphere is amazing. I cannot wait to go back - and it is very much worth a drive there!!!

Their ribs and steaks are some of the best in Raleigh - but the overall experience is unparalleled. The highlight is ahead-of-time reserved table for two down in the kitchen called "the chefs table". Incredibly affordable and such a unique atmosphere to have dinner in. One of a kind! My favorite part is how generous and welcoming the owners are - I know for a fact they gift desserts to servicemen and women regularly. Thanks!

Great steaks!!! This place is huge. They have valet parking which is always nice. The food portions were great, the desserts we're too. The service was exactly what you expect from southern hospitality.

Great service and food! We really enjoyed our anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was more on an upscale Cracker Barrel type of level but we enjoyed it either way, just expected more from what we had heard. The staff gave us a nice tour after and overall we had a really nice time.

I visited The Angus Barn shorty after the Christmas season. The Christmas decorations were still up, which were beautiful. This was my first time dining there. After hearing so many good things about it I had to give it a try.
The place is huge and the decor is amazing. We arrived for our reservation on time, but had to wait about 20 minutes to get seated. Our waiter/ waitress were friendly and said they would take very good care of us. I m not sure if it was because we were seated in the corner, or because it was a late reservation and they tired, but we were kind of forgotten about, our glasses stayed empty. We ordered the 42oz Tomahawk Ribeye and regular ribeye. I was very disappointed in how dry (cooked medium temperature)and bland my steak was. It had no seasoning at all I had to ask for steak sauce, just to have some kind of taste. Now the Tomahawk was seasoned fine. Overall I was not wowed by the food like I thought I would be.

As always, perfect service and fabulous food. The chef makes extraordinary vegetarian dishes on the fly and my favorite is the stuffed rainbow trout. Of course, the filet is amazing. Try the chef's table in the kitchen. Unique experience.

Had a great experience here. Took a client for lunch, they were not open yet but let us sit in the bar and order lunch anyway. Great service really made a great impression! Oh yeah, the food was awesome too!

While the food was good, we were sitting in the Turkey Lounge next to 16 loud and boisterous young people who, normally, would not be allowed to crowd around a small seating area. However, an exception was made and this made our visit there miserable.

The best steak in Raleigh. Pricy. Be prepared to shell out $50 per person before drinks, so it ll never be my weekly favorite, but it absolutely is my go to for celebrations. Take the wife for your anniversary, or her birthday.

For a really good time reserve The Chef s Table (for two) of The Captain s Table (for four) and be prepared to be wowed by the food and wine they serve you. Plan on taking an Uber home. They don t cheap out on the wine! You re going to pay $110 each for these treats, and you literally sit in the kitchen, but when my wife treated her mom to a special birthday dinner at The Chef s Table, they didn t shut up about how awesome it was for weeks. If you re at all knowledgeable about food and wine, you ll do the math at the end of the meal and conclude that even at $110 (tax and tip included) per person, you ve more than gotten your money s worth.

Final tip, make a reservation, and make it well before the date you want to dine. This place has a regional reputation, and you re not the only person who wants a great steak. Plan ahead and get the reservation. You can get a table if you just show up, but be sensible, plan ahead.

I had such an amazing experience here. Liz gave us a beautiful tour of the wine cellar, introduced us to their Iron Chef, and was so kind to us. Our server Terry was also super nice to us, and the food was awesome. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. We felt like we were in a 5 star resort with the treatment we received.

Superb service and one of the most delicious and memorable dinners had in The Wine Cellar. Celebrating my cousin's 50th wedding anniversary our group of 20 enjoyed a delicious menu of several courses each paired with a perfect wine. The surprise chocolate souffle with hot fudge from the sky and a dollop of whipped cream made my world. The service of the team in the cellar is second to none. We were made to feel so special and this experience will be a memory to hold dear for years to come.

The Angus Barn is a Raleigh landmark and a must visit whether you live here or are visiting. The service and staff are absolutely top notch, the food and drinks are at a level of five star restaurants nationwide, and to truly enjoy the entire restaurant is a multi hour experience of cocktails and appetizers up in the Turkey lounge, kitchen and wine cellar tour, main course, and dessert extravaganza. Every time I go I learn, see, and experience something new.

Sadly, can t give the barn its usual high marks after tonight s visit. The steak and food was cold. The food did not look appealing on the plate. No bread. No pickles. The waiter was a little too attentive and seemed like he wanted to rush us. Not sure what was going on but certainly unusual.

Fuin n place. Eat upstairs bar early in the late afternoon. Excellent and quiet. The rib eye is fabulous as is the free service cheese bar and good drinks. Great date night but stick to upstairs at the "Turkey lounge bar". It is quiet, and we were seated right away around 5:30 on a weekday. We've been twice and I'd go again!!

Been coming here for 30+ years. 1st time I've been disappointed. Total lack of seasoning on my rib eye. Twice baked potato was dry and lacked flavor. No idea what happened. Just disappointed. The atmosphere is still great and the servers were attentive and positive.

They go out of their way to provide great service. The steaks and sides are something to die for. The chocolate chess pie lives up to the hype, but I prefer their cheesecake. We come here yearly around Christmas time and it wouldn't be Christmas without Angus Barn.

As usual an excellent experience. Superb food and customer service. You even have free snacks and a comfortable waiting area (with a bar) while you wait for your table. If you are in central NC it's worth the visit. I recommend getting a reservation.

What happened to the Angus barn the food has really gone down hill big time. The quality of the food has really decreased since the last time I ate here. The steak I got was like eating shoe leather and half of it was well done and half was under cooked My wife's steak was nothing but gristle and over cooked. I was very disappointed and will definitely never eat here again and with steaks like this they will not be in business much longer anyway.

This place has some southern nostalgia to it but overall I was less than impressed. I spent a lot of money to sit at a wooden picnic table with a plastic cloth. Food was underwhelming. Turkey lounge is a cool spot. Fun to bring guest here because it is iconic but there are better steak options.

I was excited that my son was taking me there ( after all the word of mouth information I had received) but, the food was just ok/ nothing special involving taste or how the food was plated.

Angus Barn is a very nice restaurant with good food. However I feel it was a step away from great, which is unfortunate for the premium youre spending to go here. They're definitely built for quantity and are excellent at catering large events. However visiting as an individual doesnt feel quite as special. The restaurant as a whole feels outdated and the presentation of the food is rather boring. If you just want large quantities of high grade beef, they got you covered, but I'd say dont expect it to be cooked in any life changing or even unique way. For full flavor I found myself relying on steak sauces. Which is fine, but I do prefer my steak to be flavorful enough on it's own.

I received a gift card for $100 so the misses and I went here for our adversity. The final bill (i had chicken, she had steak) was a bit over this - so the rumors about this place being pricy is true.

My food was "OK" and the beer was cold - nothing great or stellar. About what i would expect from a chain (though i dont think this place is?). My wife's steak was cooked as she requested and the cut was nice, how ever she said it was not the best stake she has had in Raleigh (which surprised me). Wife said the local branded wine was very good.

Service was also "OK" - we had a reservation so there was almost no wait. The waiter did not hover (which is nice) abut I had to wait for the waiter to bring me a second drink.

All in all, if this has been priced like Outback or Lone Star i would have said the place was great as it was a tad bit better with service and about on par with taste; but at the price, i honestly don't get why everyone raves about the place.

Great Place!!! My wife an I have been to this restaurant 3 times, we are originally from Miami and have eaten in all of the great restaurants there. Great service, great steaks, excellent ambiance. By far better than the overrated Ruth Chris. It's not cheap, get ready to spend about $75/person. We enjoy the bar upstairs, which has small tables and gives a nice romantic setting and they serve the same food you will get in the dining room, but instead of the crowd, you get music and the opportunity to eat at their appetizer, cheese buffet.

We had dinner 11/14/20 to celebrate our 50th wedding Anniversary. We want to thank our waitress Kayley Anz for providing excellent service. Everything was perfect. Please pass this onto Kayley.

Food, good. The space? Well it is a barn. Why 3 stars? Inconsistent service for a "very upscale place/prices". Example, waiting area before your seated is very nice. However if you 2ant a drink while your waiting? You have to walk over to the bar and get your own drink. For these prices a waiter or waitress or two is expected.
