Angus Barn deserves 6/5 stars. Easily the best dining in the Raleigh-Durham, if not the entire state. The food is all made fresh in the kitchen and it was cooked to perfection. Menu items are relatively expensive but with good reason, it's A++ quality. Service staff are professional, knowledgeable and attentive - we never went more than 5 minutes without refills or a check-up. After the spectacular dinner we asked for a tour and the OWNER of the entire establishment, Van, took time out of her busy schedule to give our family a personalized tour of the wine cellar and back area. It was an unforgettable dining experience, I cannot say enough good things about Angus Barn. Can't wait to return!

Excellent service (thank you, Florence!) & Great Steaks!

The 24oz Prime Rib is enormous! The 10oz is probably enough for me... Our group tried several cuts including the strip & the ribeye. The pasta rated well, as did the cream spinach.

Make a reservation & use the valet service; this place is packed (parking can be challenging)! Try the cheese & crackers while you wait. It's an interesting provision that makes the wait a bit easier (we arrived early for our reservation).

Try it; you'll enjoy the food & the service is wonderful.

Good memories and good food are to be had at this restaurant. Celebrated Valentines here and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Started in the turkey lounge and ended up beside the kitchen for our meal. Lots of good food, drink and laughter was had here. Thanks for a wonderful celebration!!

There is only one Angus Barn. It is not just a restaurant - it is an institution. The service is absolutely unrivaled and the atmosphere is unlike any other establishment. Top shelf experience every time. Make sure you say hello to Van (owner) and get a crock of pub cheese for the road!

Great place for a special night out. You'll want to book a reservation in advance. The food is good, but I think the real highlights are the atmosphere and the impeccable service. The interior is dimly lit and feels cozy and private despite its size. The servers are professional and always on hand should you need something. All of my party had a steak of one kind or another and all were satisfied. The prices are reasonable for the quality and portion. A truly unique and fun dining experience.

My first visit was amazing, the second visit? Not so much. Food was ok, service was all over the place. Not worth the money. I was so disappointed since I hyped it up and we brought my father in law from Florida. For this it's sad to say you are paying for the look, if not just go to Capital Grill.

The food was amazing but the staff was okay, they almost seemed annoyed that they had to take care of our table which was not a good experience. Thankfully our party had a good vibe going and we didn't let it ruin our night. I'm sure they were having an off day but when gratuity is included and we're paying for 10+ people with drinks and dessert you'd expect a more cordial experience from the servers. You should still make it out there, the food was excellent!

One of my favorite places to eat in the Triangle. The Angus Barn is where you want to bring out of towners. Their prices are fair, the food delicious, and the atmosphere inside is unlike anywhere I've ever been. (They are extremely kid friendly too) The prime rib is one of the best I've ever had, seasoned to perfection. Fill up on a generous spread of homemade cheeses, olives, and crackers beforehand and try to save room for dessert. In 14 years I've only been able to do that once!

You re paying for the ambiance. The food is sub-par (I d equate it to a glorified Cracker Barrel). You can get MUCH better steak numerous places in raleigh for the same price. Will not be back.

In all the years that I have lived in the triangle...

In all the years that I have lived in the triangle, I have only just recently tried the Angus Barn. Several people have recommended it to me, but the price is well out of the range of a typical night out. You should expect to pay at least $50 per person. More if you get appetizers or alcohol.

Anyway, my husband and I finally decided to treat ourselves, but ended up being a little underwhelmed. It is a very crowded place. Very loud too. We were seated in an odd place, sort of in the hall between two rooms. It was more private than being sat in the main room, but the servers also used it as a staging area to place trays of food, so it was busy. The floors were a bit slick (well worn down brick) so I sort of slipped and slid all the way to and from our table in my heels. Our server also seemed a little overworked, as he asked us the same questions several times and seemed distracted.

The food wasn't bad, but is was not what I expect for the price. I have worked in similarly priced restaurants and this was not worth $50 to us. However, my opinion could be skewed because they did not cook my steak as I asked. I ordered medium well and received a practically bloody steak. I still don't know whether they prepared it wrong or whether the server didn't hear me correctly.

On the bright side, they do have a gluten/dairy free menu available and a dedicated kitchen space for gluten free orders. However, I was told when I got there that I should have called several days in advance to have them prepare special entree/dessert options. Since I didn't (because we decided to go there that day), my options were limited to plain steak/seafood and steamed veggies. If I go again, I will have to plan ahead.

This is a great place to meet friends - we go to the Wild Turkey Lounge or the Meat Locker. We will generally do drinks and maybe a few appetizers but personally, both my husband and I think their food is just OK for the price. But they have it all on atmosphere. Great place to take out of town company too for a nice night out. Really good service most of the time unless they get slammed but that's understandable.

Food was not worth the $$$$. Terribly disappointed, in the quality of the beef. We only visit this place once a year typically during Christmas and I vowed in 2018 not to return. A friend talked me into this visit on 10/19/19 and this definitely did me in. My husband got sick from the ribs which were enormous and overwhelming with thick gooey sauce that was disgusting not appetizing and my rib eye was like shoe leather. Other than the charm during Christmas the atmosphere is dated with grungy carpets and furniture at entry points. If you like to waste $ then you will be happy here.

Seems that I will be the dissenting opinion. My wife and I went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and maybe it was the night we went, but it was extremely loud. The first seating location, we were on the corner of the wall and my wife was basically sitting in the isle way...next to a cart of dirty dishes. We asked to be moved to a more quiet location, which they did. Other than the seating issue and the noise in that one location, the atmosphere was very nice. We both enjoy rustic, country architecture, which they have done very nicely.

I think the biggest issue I had was with the food. I'll start by saying they have a very extensive whiskey offering, which I enjoyed. The filet mignon I ordered, is a different story. I generally order my steaks medium, which I did in this case, however when the steak came out it was well past medium well. It was dry and to be honest, not very flavorful. I've had much better steaks at Bonefish Grill (Not that there is anything "bad" about that restaurant, its a great place to grab dinner, but its not marketed as a "upscale steakhouse" and its certainly no where near the price I paid for our dinner here). My wife had the same, but smaller and while it wasn't as bad, it still wasn't great.

Ultimately, I just don't believe its worth the price you pay for it. If I'm paying over $200 for the two of us, I feel like I should be excited to come back because the food was so good...but I'm not. Personally, I feel like its more of a fashion statement to say you had dinner at the Angus Barn, because there's a lot of places that I get consistently better steaks and food in general.

Incredible steaks, great service, and wonderful character inside. The Christmas decorations and lights on the property and inside are cool. The service was friendly and the food was delicious! Prices are expensive but definitely worth it because of the high quality of the food. A great place for a special occasion!

Delicious food, great service, wonderful atmosphere. They gave a member of our table a sample of the ribs so that he could determine if that's what he wanted (which he did), and they were very attentive to the table service (like filling water glasses - they even replaced the glasses once).

If you make it here, you should definitely ask the front desk for the wine cellar tour - it was very interesting.

Atmosphere is an old barn with no upscale feel. Steaks are average at best. They charge the prices of the larger steak houses but are definitely not up to the same level. The mashed potatoes tastes like a scoop of microwave potatoes.

Food is always great. It's expensive but you get massive quantities and should easily be able to make two meals out of your entree. Food hack tip... get the Kababs and split them. Inexpensive meal for two and with a shared appetizer you leave full and don't break the bank.

This place is absolutely incredible. The bone-in 20oz ribeye was cooked to perfection. The blue cheese mashed potatoes was amazing as well. I will definitely be a returning customer when I'm in Raleigh NC again.
